Zero had just walked out of the inn. He had gathered a bit of knowledge but not much. So he started to look where he could find good information. He then remembered the map and started to walk towards a street called the merchant dream. Going to this street was like going to an open market. Stalls causing shade from sun by having sticks coming out of the ground and holding in the air a piece of cloth or leather on all four edges. The usual color for these sheets was either white or brown. The carts and stall sold many things.
Looking around he got interested on a man selling big chunks of iron, they were shapeless and also weren't only pure iron, but from all the other stalls he noticed that this iron was purer. It probably cost a lot. "For how much are you selling these chunks old seller?" Asked Zero. "They are sold like all the other vendors, two copper for a kilogram of iron." Said the man faintly , he didn't really think this kid had any way to buy the iron anyways even with the one copper discount he gave to him. "Then can I buy 20 kilograms of it." Stated Zero without thinking much. The old man was shocked but still held his shock and calculated how much that'd cost. "38 copper coins kid. Do you have it?" After he asked this question Zero nodded his head, though he noticed some copper coins less. The man had actually made a little mistake but didn't realize it.
The boy nodded looking at his bronze coins. He still has 431 left after he paid. Human slaves seem to be really expensive if someone paid about 500 copper coins, there were only 60 children in those carriages. Considering they were children and cost less. That ment that it was a profitable business for the church. But he still won't sell humans that's something he disagrees with.
The stall owner started gathering the 20 kilograms of impure iron clumps. "If you want a bag that'll be one more copper coin" said the shop owner. Zero nodded his head and pulled out one more copper coin. The old man got it and proceeded to throw the iron in. The rattling of iron was a bit loud so some people gave some nasty side eyes at the owner.
Getting the sack Zero started to pump mana to his body strengthening it. 25 kilograms were nothing to a level 1 magic user. Picking the bag up he made it look like he had a bit of a problem carrying it but didn't let it fall. He started walking once again and looking around, after being out of eyesight of the old man he straightened his posture and started walking slowly. Looking at the other stalls. At this time he remembered why he was here so he also strengthened his hearing. Most of the noises he heard were just gossip rumors and such nothing new, only some new things came up such as the church is starting to look for the 'big mercenaries' that killed their people. He couldn't really find info on it. It was a rumor to begin with, it probably got spread by the churches talkative nuns. Not having to worry he sighed a breath of relief. Paying attention to the surrounding rumors and gossip. He was able to learn more of the politics of the city. Right now it was a war zone. Alleged assassinations , fighting over power. The city lord Serben was not doing anything to stop this, to the public's knowledge that is. There were also many rumors on the contest to become the adviser of the lord. Interestingly enough many power houses of the area weren't taking part in this contest, Zero didn't think so he thinks it might be that these contenders are being backed up by the families.
As he continued his walk he suddenly thought of something, breaking his concentration on mana control cause him to fall back first on the dirt because the weight on his back. Giving a sigh he got up and started to once more power himself up with magic. Looking around he found a alleyway and stalked towards it slowly as to not raise questions. Going in there he immediately went to a corner throwing all the iron out of the sack.
He gather some mana and bit his finger drawing blood. As blood started to drip using the magic imbued and his superb control he formed another formula activating it, he condensed the formula into a dot. If looking at it more you'd see the formula. Placing the floating blood inside the sack he printed it right at the bottom. This formula was known as beginner formula of safe keeping. In truth this was two incomplete formulas added together; feather weight, pressure sizing. It made the items stored into the container miniature with no weight, the only real limitations are that the item must fit inside of the container first.
Having created the spatial bag he leaned into a wall. Catching his breath that he held before, shaking his head to get rid of the tiredness he started to get up, putting all the iron clumps inside the bag again. Coming out of the alley going towards the stalls once more he didn't use mana anymore, and walked freely faster then before cause he didn't need to concentrate that hard.
Going through the street he saw a lot of different things going on. This body wasn't completely under his control sometimes such as when a family passed by causing a big influx of emotions to happen. It was honestly a bit scary at what he felt, jealousy, anger, sadness.
From looking around he also bought some different things, he bought many books which were being sold. They were only the bare basics but it helps him, plus knowledge at this time wasn't as good as the future so this was already considered a lot to know. Continuing to look around he forums a stall with a green cloth atop it and more supporting poles then the other ones. Looking at the stall it sold cloth and textile of different origins. Going towards the stall he was met with the friendly face of a man. He had sturdy shoulders and a large grey beard.
"Hello young lad! Whatcha need from mi shop today?!" He asked excitedly. Our little brunette nodded his head indicating acknowledgement of the man. "What's with the quiet attitude? What's yer name, I'm known as Muspon the merchant!" He introduced himself, Zero not wanting to be rude and a little surprised "I'm Zero, and I'd like to get some of your wool, leathers , dyes and your strongest string." Nodding his head Muspon took out a long string coiled around a wood branch, he took out some deerskin leather a big roll of it, next he took out merino wool fabric. It was rolled up as well. "I don't've any dyes sorry kiddo!" He said apologizing. "It's okay just give me a price for the other things." The grey haired merchant nodded and started telling him the prices." Well the there's the standard height but you can choose how much length you buy, 4 meters per copper on both. There's 40 meters on both rolls and for the string it's 7 meters per copper. There's a max of 38 meters per customer though." "I'd like to buy it at max capacity" said Zero calmly. "You sure you have enough money kid! That's 24 coppers!" Muspon looked incredulously at Zero's tiny body. "It's fine sir just give me the items" said Zero no waver in his voice, neither a gulp of reluctance. Shaking himself out of the shock he gave both the string and the three by forty meters. Comparing the boys 150 stature with the three meter rolls was a funny sight but the boy holding them didn't seem to have a problem with it. Giving the man the 24 copper he ran towards a alley just out of eyesight of Muspon.
Going into the alley he noticed some cats around but didn't really care much. Laying the pouch down he started to unroll the string that he held in his hands. After some minutes of unrolling he put the string inside of the magical pouch. Now it was turn of the big rolls. Opening the bag to the max he put the tip of the roll in and slowly the big role steered going in, the role of leather being forcefully pushed down bent and went inside the sack. If it wasn't for the magical properties of the bag , that little container even if empty and only having the leather in would look quite comical. As he sighed getting tired of the physical power needed sat down on the floor dirtying his pants with some type of white ash. Taking the sack into his hands he started to get up and look around once more to make sure no one saw. There was no one to see. Going out of the alley with his sack on his back looking around before deciding that this was enough for today.
The sun was already setting so he went to find an inn. Going to the last in. He was in he was rejected on basis of the inn being full. He started to look all around the different inns but none would take him. Some saying he was to young to be in there and others were full. So this is his first day of staying on the street. Looking around for a good corner to sleep on, as he found one he sat down putting the sack on his lap and curling a bit as if to protect himself he closed his eyes to sleep.
That was until he felt a mana core walking towards him, looking up he saw a pale man with blue eyes and dull gold hair. The man smiled at him and he raised a eyebrow. "Who are you, what do you want?" Asked Zero without any emotion in his voice. The man was shocked but still introduced himself and his intentions. "My name is Serben I'm the lord of this town, child you have no home so I chose to help you out." He said calmly and slowly as if talking to a idiot. "How the fuck did I meet this guy?" Cursed Zero within his mind. Zero thought for a second before deciding to act with interest. "Really you'll take me? What's this the eleventh child this week?" He asked the lord. Serben was a bit shocked at the child but still smiled. "I'll take you to my mansion that's in the east side of the city. How about that?" Asked Serben crouching near the boy. Zero nodded his head a little, "I'd like that sir." He said with some fake expectation. Knowing how much he wants to get me there I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up being a pedophile, his eyes aren't as kind as he pretends. Getting up from his spot he looked towards the crouching smiling lord. "Will we walk there?" That would give me more time to understand who you are, thought Zero. "No dear child you must be tired, we'll take my personal carriage over there. He pointed at the white carriage some meters away. Nodding his head Zero decided to try his luck. "Sir can you hold me up, I saw some people doing it and it seemed fun!" He said fixing his expression of innocence. "But of course little one!" He was picked up by the high statured lord, "Here we go!" Said the lord without delay running towards the carriage. No influx of emotion towards physical contact , that's good shall I try to moan next? Thought Zero. As his thought were reaching this conclusion he got the perfect chance to do so, the lord had opened the door of the carriage and let the boy onto the soft seat in the carriage. With this the child seemed to moan a little at the pain in the butt. The lord shook his head smiling a little at the cute scene. Zero got rid of his old thoughts of pedophilia, seeing that the lord didn't have any reaction towards his moan.
Smiling a little, sleep took over the little boy laying in the cushion of the carriage.
