"Kai?" Malcolm tilted his head. "Is that you?" He asked.
"Ahh!!... M-Malcolm? Wh-why it hurts... AHHH!!!"
Malcolm ran over and tried to help. "Where does it hurt?" His eyes were wide.
"It's.. my heart! AHH!!" I held my hand to my chest or Auden's chest.. It was like I was dying all over again. I could barley breathe or speak. My face glowed read once more. It burned and burned until my eyes slowly faded back to the color of Auden's eyes. He sighed.
"What's going on? M- Malcolm! Get away f-from me!" He shouted as he backed away.
"No, no it, it worked! Damn it!" He leaned against the wall.
"Where did I go, Malcolm? What happened?!" Auden raised his voice.
Malcolm stayed silent. "What happened?" Auden repeated trying to keep firm. "I was right." Malcolm finally spoke.
"You we're right? About..."
"Kai. He lives... in you. You share a body, he's trapped. All he needed was a push to be let out. Even for a second." A tear ran down his cheek as he stared at the ground. He took off his glasses and pressed his finger between his eyes. "Never speak of this." He looked at Auden.
With that he grabbed some powder out of his pocket and softly blew it onto Auden's face. His eyes slowly closed until he fell fast asleep.
"Perfect. Everything is just as it should be. Well... I still have one problem. John Beal." Malcolm growled.
.....
"So Mr. Beal what do you think of the presentation?" The woman stood in front of her coworkers and Mr. Beal ready to hear what they thought.
"Well, I think that it sounds like we would be begging for readers. They don't know what their interested in until they see what we have to offer? Campaigns, government, speeches, bullshit that people don't want to read. Now you want to double the majority of viewers we have just to turn us down? They don't want to hear the same thing on every new platform. How about you go out there and make some articles that people will actually like instead of living in your own fantasy! Once I see some decent progress then we can talk. We can triple the majority without shoving it in their damn faces!" Mr. Beal explained.
The woman looked to the floor. She stood there in silence along with her coworkers. "I think that should be enough, don't you?..." He looked at her with a slight anger. "The meeting is over, you can all leave." He looked at everyone waiting for them to leave.
"Are you just going to sit there? Or do I have to fire you?!" He stood tall. Everyone scattered and quickly left the room.
He let out a sigh as he sat down. He looked down at the table with tears clouding his vision.
He heard the door burst open. "I said get out!" He wiped out his eyes and looked to see who it was.
"Quinn? What do you want?" He was surprised to see Quinn.
"I can't find Auden. He just left without a word, he even left his phone at home... I need your help."
Mr. Beal bit his lip as he began to get lost in thought.
"John, John!" Quinn yelled.
"Wh- what?!"
"You were zoned out or something. For like two whole minutes."
"Oh.." Mr. Beal looked like a clueless child.
"What do we do?" They asked.
"Have you contacted the police?"
"No.."
"Good, because I think I know where he is..." Mr. Beal said.
.....
An hour later Auden woke up strapped to a small hospital bed. It was a large room with no windows.
He looked around and started to scream. "Malcolm!! What's going on?! Let me out!!!" He exclaimed.
"Sorry, Auden. I have to do what needs to be done." He held a needle up ready to use.
"I have to talk to Kai." He smirked.
"No, NO!! Not again! Please, Malcolm not again!"
Malcolm chuckled. "I deeply apologize but this is really going to hurt." He stuck it in his arm.
"AHHH!!" Auden screamed through the pain.
