"John, this is the fourth place we've been to, do you really think he would be at a cemetery." Quinn pondered.
"Trust me, it's more then just a cemetery." Mr. Beal stepped out of the car.
"Then what is it? Girl, don't freak me out!" Quinn was nervous.
"Trust me, you'll want to see this." Mr. Beal assured them. "Okay..." Quinn made sure to stay close to him. "This." Mr. Beal pointed at the structure. "This?" Quinn repeated. "Let me show you, it's not what's on the outside it's what's on the inside." "Okay.." Mr. Beal tried to open the door and it worked.
"That doesn't make sense." He said.
"Wh-"
"It's unlocked. That's not like him to just leave it open." He explained.
"Who are we talking about?"
"That dirty scum bag of a Doctor."
"Malcolm? Hmm.. how so?" Quinn asked.
"It doesn't matter but right now we need to find him."
"But we have to find Auden.." Quinn had a puzzled look on their face.
"Exactly." With that Mr. Beal walked forward and looked down at the old stairs. Quinn followed behind still confused as to what was happening. "What the hell?" Their eyes were wide. "What is this?"
"Come and see for yourself." The two continued walking.
"Wait, this is all Doctor Malcolm's?" Quinn asked.
"Yes." Mr. Beal answered.
"And you think Auden could be here?"
"It's the one place I can't stop thinking about. He has to have Auden." He pressed his finger against his forehead.
Quinn made a bold look and started to search the entire place. They uncovered all the files and knocked down all the tools. They looked at the dry blood on the ground leading to a door. The door was cracked open just enough so that they could peep inside.
Bloody chains and different devices. What looked like old and new technology. But no one was there.
"He's gone." Quinn heard Mr. Beal say.
"Who's gone?" Quinn walked over to see an empty room with only a few tubes in it. Mr. Beal's face was blank.
"Kai, he... his body was in a containment. Now, he's gone. So is Malcolm and Auden! Where did that bastard take them?!" He yelled.
"Why can't we just call the police?"
"Because, Quinn. Malcolm's a doctor, we've seen things that we can't prove or we can't say. Their are so many things we can't explain to them. There is no way that we can have them involved." Mr. Beal explained.
"Oh.. well then where do we go next?" Quinn laid their chin into their hand.
.....
"Why? Why are you doing all of this?" Auden looked at Malcolm through a haze.
"Will you stop asking that?"
"Why can't you just answer me?! Especially when I'm gonna die, why not tell me?" Auden was covered in sweat as he struggled to breathe or speak.
"You.. you think I'm going to kill you?" Malcolm froze.
"I.. I mean i-it's pretty obvious. You're torching me until you see Kai."
Auden could almost see tears form in Malcolm's eyes.
"Malcolm?" He said.
"Auden, I would never want to kill you." He spoke in a quiet voice.
"Torching me is better?!" Auden shouted.
"I- I don't want to lose ether of you." Malcolm stuttered.
"Why?! So you can experiment on us?! You act like you care about us but this.. this is what you do..."
"Auden, of course I care about you, and Kai." He continued to talk in a soft quiet voice.
"Why? Why are you doing this, why do you care about us?" Auden questioned.
"You really want to know?"
"Yes. I want the truth!"
"Okay. I'll tell you the truth..." Malcolm said.
