"I think I've had enough rest."
"Well, I hope to see you at work when you're ready, Mr. Everson."
"Me too." I meant what I said. I couldn't wait to get out of that hospital. More speacifically, to get away from Malcolm. Although, I was kind of nervous to be at work too. I couldn't remember who it was that kidnapped me but that was the last place I remembered being before I was taken.
He began to walk towards the door. "Hey um before you go.. what did you uh.. when you found me, did-"
"Oh, um.. We don't have to talk about that."
I stood up and walked over to him. "But, we do have to talk about it. I mean, I know, I'm a freak and I'm weird but-"
"You are not a freak, Kai. You're, you're perfect the way you are, and if you ever need help then I will do what I can to help you. Don't ever think of yourself that way!" Mr. Beal exclaimed.
"But, that's the thing, you can't help me. No one can! I can't be fixed!" My fists were clenched as I held them against my head. My body started to shiver as I got colder.
"You know what, you should go." I said. I had a feeling that the red glow would appear and I didn't know how to stop it. "But-"
"Please just leave." I sobbed. My body felt like I was frozen. I looked arround as my eyes started to glow green.
"Kai, you're not okay." Mr. Beal looked into my eyes. He could feel the room getting colder too. Then, one of the worst things that could happen, happened. The red glow surrounded me. He's was close enough to feel the icy ora.
"I told you, I'm a freak!" I yelled.
He walked even closer. "And I told you, you're perfect the way you are. You're different from everyone else for a reason. You're special. It's not a bad thing to be different. I like you the way you are." He spoke in a calm voice. He whiped out the tear that was streaming down my cheek. He took off his jacket and wrapped it around me.
"It's okay. You'll be okay. Just trust me. I won't let anyone hurt you." He explained. I believed him. I could see the worry in his eyes. In that moment all he wanted was for me to be okay. He didn't think of me as a crazy person or a werido or some freak. He just cared for me. I don't know why. He always acted so tough and like he didn't care about anything, but I knew it wasn't real. He was so kind and gentle. Well, at least to me anyways.
"I-"
"What's going on?" Malcolm asked as he burst through the doors. He looked at us and then ran over to me.
"What are you doing?" He looked at Mr. Beal.
"I'm trying to help him." I could see that they were both getting aggrivated at each other. As the two argued they didn't even notice the red ora glowing brighter. They realized it once they felt it getting colder. They both looked down at me unsure of what to do.
"Stop it! Okay, just please stop arguing!" I shouted. Malcom locked the door and pulled out a needle.
"No, I don't want more chemicals, or medicine, or some kind of poision! I just wish that I could be done with this! All of these powers and... and you!" I looked at Malcolm.
"What is he talking about?" Mr. Beal was suspicious.
"I don't know but he's not in his right mind right now." He replied.
I tried to run away but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me closer to him. Our faces were only inches apart. "Please, I don't want to go to sleep again!" I begged.
"I love it when you beg me, Kai." He smirked. That made Mr. Beal angry. He didn't know why but he just wanted to punch Malcolm in the face. "Get away from him." He said to Malcolm in a firm voice. "It's for his own good, Beal."
"No, it's not."
"Let me handle this, John." With those words Malcolm put the needle in my neck. I tried to fight the chemicals with all my strength. I could barley stand I was getting so weak. I tried to make sure I didn't close my eyes because I knew I would pass out if I did that.
"Bastard!" Mr. Beal yelled as he rushed over to me. I started to fall but he caught me just in time. I looked up at him with my green glowing eyes. "There you go, saving me again." I grinned.
