He set me on the bed and turned around to look at Malcolm. He clenched his fist and swung it at him. He punched him in the face making him stumble back. He had a small scratch on his face but that was it.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Mr. Beal asked. "He's fucking passed out from a chemical you injected him with! Is that even safe?!"
Malcolm rolled his eyes. "Of course it's safe. I know what I'm doing! What, you think I would hurt him?"
"I wouldn't put it passed you." Mr. Beal said.
"I risked my life for him and you think I would do something like that?"
"You're not exactly a trust worthy guy, Malcolm. You seem like you have some kind of twisted mind. Remember, I have people who can find things out, I'm sure I could dig up some dirt on you. How were you so quick to do something anyways? Did you know about Kai?" He exclaimed.
"Yes, I did know about Kai. I'm his doctor. You think you're so big and bad because you're some CEO? Well, let me tell you something, this is my work space. Don't think for a second that I won't make you leave. So, stop questioning me and get out."
"And leave you alone with him? I don't think so."
"You're really testing my patience aren't you?" He asked.
"I just care about Kai. I said I wouldn't let anyone hurt him. That includes you. So I'm staying."
Malcolm hesitated to speak. "Alright, fine. But, stay out of the way." He agreed to let Mr. Beal stay.
After a moment of silence Mr. Beal finally said something. "So how long will it take for him to wake up?" He asked.
"Depends. Maybe an hour or a whole day."
"How strong is that stuff that you gave him?"
"Pretty strong. I could see that he was trying to fight it but it was no use. He's just too weak."
"Don't you ever get tired of yourself?" Mr. Beal asked.
"No, I don't. Now stop asking questions, you're doing my head in."
After that, Mr. Beal looked at me. He stared at my complextion. Admiring my sleeping body. He didn't even realize it. Then, my body started to shake. The two looked at me with worry and confusion. My ora began to glow again but this time it was green. It burned intensley as tears ran down my cheeks.
"What's happening?" Mr. Beal asked.
"He must be having a nightmare."
"Well we need to do something about it."
"Not yet." Malcolm looked at me with intrigue.
"Why? He's clearly in pain. We can't just let him suffer." Mr. Beal said.
"Talk to him."
"What?" He was confused.
"Let him hear you're voice. Try not to wake him. Just calm him."
"I don't think that will wo-"
"Just do it. If you care about him, help him." Malcolm interrupted.
Mr. Beal didn't know if he should do it or not but he decided to give it a try. He walked over to me and stared at me. He didn't like seeing me like that. Always in pain. "What do I say?" He asked.
"Anything. I trust you'll calm him down."
"Okay." He bit his lips in nervousness. "Kai, I-I'm here. It's okay. You're not alone anymore. I will protect you. I know I can't promise you anything, but I will be with you when you need me to. Just like Quinn. Because no one should be left alone. You're safe now." He exclaimed.
My breathing started to calm and I was getting less shaky. The last tear drop flourished down my cheek. The green glow slowly faded away. "See, you're safe now. I'm here." Mr. Beal talked in a low calm voice. Finally, I was okay again.
"How did you know that would work?" He looked at Malcolm.
"I didn't. I just had a feeling it would."
"Why me? Why did you think I would be the one to do it?"
"He's growing fond of you. I can see it in his eyes. Because you're the only one who seems to care for him. You've saved him multiple times. He hasn't had someone like that in his life in a long time. He might not know it yet, but he craves to be loved." Malcolm explained.
