Quinn sat back, holding on to hope.
"Let's see what happens." They said softly.
They ran their fingers through their hair. Closing their eyes for a moment as they sighed.
Then, they gazed at Auden's body and face. The orange ora had started to calm down. A tear ran down his cheek.
Quinn looked at him with sorrow. They moved towards him, reaching their arm out. They wiped the dreadful tear away. They wanted to make all of his sadness disappear, but Quinn knew it wasn't that easy.
They began to stroke his face as they admired his flawless features.
"Please be okay," Quinn whispered with a pitiful voice.
It felt like a hole in their heart. Like it was aching for Auden to wake up. So, all the darkness would fade away.
That's all they wanted. Was for Auden to wake up and give them a tight hug.
But, then, Quinn came to the realization that Mr. Beal was still there.
They leaned back and looked over at Mr. Beal who was deep in thought. "Do you think he'll be alright?" Quinn asked.
Breaking the silence caused Mr. Beal to snap out of his bemused expression.
"I don't know. Whatever caused this is definitely not something a pill can fix." Mr. Beal said.
"Has anything like this ever happened before?" He asked.
"Not that I know of. He mostly uses his abilities to hack into my dreams. He always creates the best fantasies." Quinn almost formed a slight smile at the thought of it.
"It's like he could make all of my dreams come true in just a moment of time. But, it would always feel like an eternity. I never wanted it to end." Quinn flustered as they felt their cheeks grow red.
The idea of Auden taking them to a magical dream made them happier.
"That sounds wonderful, Quinn. Do you know where he got his powers?"
"Unfortunately, I don't. Neither does he. He always wanted to know more about them, but it's not like you can find it in history books." Quinn exclaimed.
Staring back at Auden's peaceful body, it reminded Quinn of what was going on.
They crept over to Auden with a worried look.
They bit their lip feeling tense from all the stress.
They touched his warm cheek.
It felt tingly. It almost tickled. Auden seemed so fragile. Like one wrong move, and he would shatter to pieces.
He was sleeping so lightly. Like an angel in a fluffy cloud.
"Auden..." Quinn said as they tried to wake him up.
"Auden?" They repeated. "John, he's not waking up!"
"Let him wake on his own time."
"But-"
"You need to rest as well. You got shot you know."
"Yeah, yeah. I was there, I know. But, this is more important." Quinn argued.
"You are important too. I'll stay with him. You need to rest."
"Ugh, I will rest. For a long time. But not before I know he's okay."
"Okay, fine. But once he's alright, you have to rest." Mr. Beal said.
"Fine." Quinn peered at Auden.
Mr. Beal's mind dazed off thinking about things. Then his thoughts wandered to me (Kai).
He imagined my face when he found me. All the bloodshed made him feel deep rage. The rage burned inside him like boiling lava.
Whoever caused my suffrage would pay for what they had done. That's one thing he wanted to make clear.
"Of all people why him?" He pondered.
Lost in the thousands of thoughts he had, he forgot about the broken vase next to Auden.
He stood up to find a broom.
Once he found one, he cleaned up the mess.
Quinn laid next to Auden. "So..." They began.
"I noticed you got angry when you saw the doctor with Kai."
"Yeah, what about it?"
"You do fancy him. I see it in your eyes. The way you look at him. There's always some kind of tension. Like a spark of electricity, between you both."
"Don't be ridiculous, Quinn."
"I ship you too. Just so ya know." Quinn smirked.
