"Sir, I know you have important things going on right now, but we need you at the office." Ms. Bailey exclaimed.
"So, I can't be gone for a couple of days without the office needing my assistance?" Mr. Beal spoke with an attitude.
"Well, we just-"
"I'll be there soon." He interrupted. "Of course."
"So, is that all? If so then you should head back to work, Ms. Bailey."
"I actually have someone here that I need to see, if that's all right?" She said.
"Alright, but hurry it up." Mr. Beal walked away.
Ms. Bailey smirked with an evil look.
Mr. Beal sat down beside Quinn. He sighed.
"What's wrong?" Quinn asked. "It's nothing. But I have to be leaving."
"What? Why?"
"They need me at the office."
Quinn could tell that he was stressed. "What you need is to rest. You've barely gotten any sleep." Quinn exclaimed. Mr. Beal stood up.
"You need to rest, Quinn. I know you might care about it, but you were shot. Please, I just want you to be okay."
"Okay, fine. But, I will tell you if anything happens."
"Alright." Mr. Beal left.
Ms. Bailey walked up to a doctor to ask what room I was in. Right when she was told where I was, she headed straight there.
But, right as she was about to enter the room, Quinn had stepped in front of her.
"What are you doing?" They asked with sass.
"I just wanted to visit Kai." She smiled.
"Great, then we can visit him together. Please, after you." They opened the door, gesturing for her to go first. As they followed behind her she rolled her eyes.
Quinn knew there was something off about her. After seeing her in Auden's dream, they grew suspicious. Then, she wanted to visit me (Kai)? It definitely wasn't out of the "kindness of her heart" That's what Quinn thought.
They looked at my sleeping body.
"It's tragic what happened to him." Ms. Bailey said.
Quinn knew she was probably lying.
"Yeah, it is. When I find out who did this, I'll kill them. They'll suffer ten times worse then he did." They explained.
Ms. Bailey turned to look at them. "I heard you and the boss were the ones who found him. Do you have any idea of who it could be?"
"Nope, not a clue." They had a feeling that Ms. Bailey could be involved, but they didn't want to rush to conclusions. Quinn just had a pit feeling in their stomach.
Ms. Bailey hesitated to speak.
"So, the police are investigating there?" She finally spoke.
"Yes, their swarming the place."
"Well, I suppose I should get back to work." She turned to leave.
"Yeah, you don't want to be late." Quinn smiled as they patted her on the shoulder.
Meanwhile Malcolm had tortured Mason so much that he had passed out. He hadn't received very much important, so he wanted to try new tactics. He just had to think of some.
He left the room and sat at a desk. He turned the lamp on and pulled out some files. He stressed the thought of never obtaining the information he needed. He had to know who was behind my kidnapping.
An hour had past and Mr. Beal was in his office. He felt so exhausted. He pulled out the file he had stolen from Malcolm. He looked inside it flipped to a picture of me.
It angered him so much. He didn't know why, but he just hated it so much. He flipped another page.
"His powers will be the death of him." He read.
"Powers?!" He said.
