"I-I don't even like other men." Mr. Beal stuttered.
"I guess you're just not ready to face the truth. You like him." Quinn mumbled.
Eventually, Quinn fell asleep beside Auden.
But, Mr. Beal couldn't help but think about what they had said. "Could I really like men?" He wondered.
"No. I couldn't." He refused to believe that it was a possibility. He didn't judge or think any different of people who were like that. But he just never saw himself in that way.
An hour had past when Mr. Beal heard another voice. "John?" It was Auden.
He woke up in a haze. Still, gaining his consciousness, he looked around. His head felt like it would explode it pounded so hard.
That's all he could really focus on. His eyes were a little blurred and it felt like his heart was beating in his stomach. His cheeks burned red as he struggled to think. It was only getting worse. He could barley hear what Mr. Beal was saying. He could only hear a high pitch ringing and the sound of Mr. Beal's muffled voice.
"Auden?!" He shouted once more.
Auden had finally snapped out of it, but not completely. He could hardly concentrate on his words. He could barely move without a flinch. He tried to hide it but it wasn't very easy.
He didn't even realize that Quinn had woken up beside him.
"What?!" He shrieked. He didn't mean for it to come out that way. He was just so busy trying to ignore the ringing in his head.
"Auden, are you okay?!" Quinn said with a troubled look on their face.
Auden looked into Quinn's eyes and then shifted them towards Mr. Beal who also looked upset.
"I- I'm fine." He stood up with a nauseous look on his face.
His eyes widened slightly as he rushed to the bathroom. With Quinn and Mr. Beal following behind, he nearly closed the door. But, before it could shut he ran to sink.
His body felt sore as he could feel a rush of hot liquid escape his mouth and into the sink.
"Blood?!" He thought as the other two entered.
A red pool of blood filled the sink. There was so much. As he continued to puke up more Quinn came over to him.
They grabbed a hand towel ready to wipe off the blood on his face.
Once he stopped hurling up the blood, he looked over to Quinn.
"Just like Kai..." He said. Then, he collapsed. Quinn caught him in a swift motion.
"Kai is..." He shut his eyes and passed out once again. It left them in confusion and worry.
"We need to take him to the hospital!" Quinn said.
"But what if we risk exposing his powers."
"Come on John. We need to get him to the hospital." Quinn picked up Auden's delicate body and brought him to the car.
They got in and John sighed. "I've had to bring so many people to the hospital in the time span of fewer than three days. I hate it. It shouldn't be that way." He exclaimed as they drove off.
"I know. Then, the people around you who hardly even know you or the person, just they just.."
"Feel pity for you."
"Yes, and they act so mindlessly when it comes to real emotions. Telling someone to just 'get well' and then never talk to them for the next six months or even more. It's ridiculous how they pretend to care without any effort. If you don't really care then don't bother to show your face!" Quinn ranted.
They had trouble in their past dealing with issues like that. Especially, Quinn.
Due to their parents being homo/transphobic they never really felt loved by them.
They reached the hospital and rushed inside.
Auden was sent to the emergency room as fast as possible.
They were sitting down in the waiting room. Quinn was anxious and so was John but he tried to hide it.
"Damn it!" Quinn let out.
"What the hell is going on in there?!" They continued. They held the bullet wound as he could feel it's painful sore.
"Try to relax. I know it's hard but that wound is not going to heal right away." Mr. Beal rested his hand gently onto Quinn's shoulder.
"I'm fine. I just want this to be over with." They put their head in their hands. They were tense from all the stress.
"I know." Mr. Beal took in a deep breath.
"He'll be okay."
"But you don't know that." Quinn said. "I have a feeling he will be, though." Mr. Beal asserted.
He stood up and started walking. "Where are you going?" Quinn asked.
"I want to see Kai." He walked to my room feeling nervous. His palms were sweating as he opened the door.
He looked inside as I was peacefully asleep. He scratched his next when he came closer.
Looking down at my body, he didn't know what to do. He was so worried.
He pulled out the file with my name on it that he had taken from Malcolm's office. "Let's see what he has been up to." He said.
