It had been three days since Jason got married. He sat in the backseat of his Maybach on his way home.
"Master Wu, there's someone following us" the driver, Brook acknowledged
"Don't worry just head home". Jason answered
"Jason was even better trained than Brook. Ofcourse he had noticed the Porsche that had been tailing them since they left the company, but he felt there was no need for alarm. Following him so blatantly in a Porsche would be too tasteful for a criminal.
When he drove into the house, the Porsche stopped just before the front gate. Jason got down from the car and went to the front door, he didn't enter though, he stood at the door and waited for the person who had followed him home.
Sheryl got off her Porsche and closed the door. She was surprised that no one stopped her when she entered the abode. Upon entering, she was immediately enamoured by the tasteful architecture of young master Wu's mansion. The beautiful and nutured front lawns and fountains were very eye catching. After walking a distance into the compounds though, all of her attention was drawn from the surroundings and unto the fine man standing at the front door. He had his hands in the pockets of his suit trousers. Watching her as she made her way towards him with a slight frown. She felt like she wasn't staring at a mortal. His presence alone made her feel like he was towering above her, and he only got bigger as she drew closer. She almost felt like kowtowing to him to beg his pardon for his displeasure. By the time she stood right Infront of him, she had forgotten what she had to say.
She stood Infront of him with a stunned look saying nothing.
"To what do I owe the displeasure of having you follow me home Miss Lou?"
"Erh.. I.. I just wanted to congratulate you and my cousin on your wedding. And I wanted to see if she was alright..?
"Did you?" Jason said with a questioning gaze.
At that moment, the front door opened.
"Jason?" Nanny Jo said from the doorway.
"Jason?" A small voice whispered from behind Nanny Jo. Poking out from behind Nanny Jo to see Jason. Karen moved out and held Jason's arm smiling at him. Sheryl was disgusted with her but that didn't show on her face. Instead she had a big smile and rushed towards Karen, giving her a giant hug.
Jason and Nanny Jo who were still weary after what happened when she visited her family the last time were alarmed. Jason grabbed unto Karen's arm and pulled her away from Sheryl, hugging her within his arms.
"Jason?" Karen said staring up at him with a smile still on her face. Jason was relieved that she didn't seem to be affected by Sheryl at all. He then let his guard down and let go of her.
"Erm.. I was just worried about cousin. We grew up together and we were always very close even before her parents died and we moved in together. It's just that after she got sick, my mother kept me away from her for fear that she might hurt me, but I never agreed with that. Please let me see her at least once in a while." Sheryl narrated anxiously.
"Well, I understand that you might want to see your cousin, but I'm not a very patient man, I don't like it when other people behave disturbingly towards me. I don't think you'd like me the next time you try or send someone else to follow me. I don't like making life difficult for other people as long as they don't make it difficult for me. Now if you understand, I hope you have verified that your cousin is well enough today. Please be on your way." After finishing, Jason took Karen and went in.
"Good bye Miss." Nanny Jo greeted and went in after them.
Sheryl was left standing at their doorstep. Despite feeling a great blow to her pride she decided that she had gotten what she wanted today. She already knew where to find them, and although Jason hadn't allowed her to visit, he hadn't disallowed it either. She felt it was enough. She went back to her car smiling and went home.
