Although Karen felt excited at Jason's words, she was still weary of him. When she had asked to eat out the week before, he had said okay but then, he actually ordered the food from a restaurant, then had them sit at a table in the garden rather than taking her out. She had been greatly dissatisfied, but she didn't show it. She didn't want him to find her ungrateful. He was her saviour and ofcourse her husband. But was he really? She knew he didn't love her nor see her as a woman. She had always wondered why he married her in the first place. She had been a nutcase on the streets. It always didn't make sense to her, but she was too scared to ask him for fear she wouldn't like what she heard. In this life, she'd realised the day she feared the most was the day Jason Wu would reject her.
It was enough that she got to stay by his side at all. She wouldn't dream for anything else.
Jason came out of his dressing room once he was done changing. When he met with an eager Karen, he walked past her quickly. "Don't harass me about tomorrow Karen." He said.
"Well I just wanted to.." Jason placed a finger on her lips to shut her up. "Shush" he ordered. He then turned away to go downstairs.
----
The next morning Karen got up extra early. It was 5 am when she woke up. Last night she couldn't sleep because of excitement and had crawled into Jason's bed before she could go to sleep. She stared at his face. He was so very handsome. She must have had really great luck to get taken home by him. What a charmer!
Karen sat up in the bed and looked over him.
"You better not be thinking of waking me up Karen" he mumbled turning his back to face her.
Karen who was indeed going to tickle him awake was taken aback. She frowned in dissatisfaction, getting off the bed.
When Jason made his way downstairs, he found Karen setting the table in the dining room for breakfast. She had made all the dishes on her own. She turned to him excitedly " Come Jason, let's have breakfast" The more excited she got the more displeasure he felt. Why was she so eager to go out?
Jason sat down and soon after Nanny Jo also came down for breakfast. Karen was quite skilled in cooking and she did it often. Especially when she was happy.
"What's the occasion today?" Nanny Jo asked.
"Jason is taking me out today. " Karen provided.
Nanny Jo turned to Jason, looking at him incredulously. She doubted that Jason was really going to take her out. She knew Jason and knew how possessive he could be. When he was just six, his favourite puzzle set was a picture of an African rain forest. It was such a difficult one, but Jason loved it. He had kept it for two years already. Once his mother put it in his bag for his first children's camp at school, she had thought he might want to show it to the other children and play with them.
When he went for the camp, the other children saw his puzzle but he would not let them touch it at all. When he came back from an activity to find a piece of his puzzle missing, he had called the police to come over and arrest some suspected theives. Imagine the surprise of the police when they arrived at the scene to find that they had been called to arrest children over a puzzle piece. Jason never found that piece, but to satisfy him, his mother had a piece customized for him but he didn't want it. He only added that piece after his mother passed away, but he still had the puzzle which he had framed till this very day. There was also the instance of his father's old dog. Ever since his father died he had taken care of the old Tibetan Mastiff. When Old master had wanted to have the dog put down, Jason had taken the dog and moved out of the Wu estate. Ofcourse she had followed him. He had taken care of the dog personally every day till he died two years later. But Jason had never let the dog out of the house. Instead, he used his savings to buy a treadmill to keep the dog active at home. He was very paranoid about losing it to accidents and the like. When the dog finally died he actually had it cremated and kept in his study beside a picture of his parents. Jason was extra paranoid when he was possessive and she knew he was possessive with Karen.
