Chapter 59 - Set of Spell

Luna's badge changed a little. The colorless crystal at the center seemed to have a pale yellow color at the sides. The more points they gather, the better looking their badge would be. It was what represented each students' power inside Magic Academy.

Hers was too eye-catching for a new student especially that of a healer. She pinned it on her dress and looked at Blair who was on the other side.

"Let's go," she said.

Blair nodded and got out of the room. They were the first ones to get there and some students started to gather outside in a long line. Luna thanked herself who likes to wake up every day. She had just avoided a long line just to verify her points.

It was no wonder the man in the blue robe didn't even know any news as he was busy with students that had to clarify their points. Also, he immediately noticed that they were new students. Surely, not all of them in the line were new students. It would not be an exaggeration if he knew every student's face aside from the new ones.

"Where will we go now?" Blair said.

Luna thought long and hard. It would be good to do something important. Then her eyes twinkled upon an idea that went inside her head.

"Let's visit the library! Though if you don't want to, you can go where you want," Luna said.

"I have nowhere to go. I'll go with you," Blair said.

Luna didn't know what to think. No one would believe that Blair who was a talented person, didn't know what to do. But all he really knew was to hack and slash. At the very least, that was what she thought.

They strolled around the place. Luna didn't need to ask someone where the library was located because she caught sight of it on their way to the Elder Mage's Hall. That was how clear her sight when it came to places she was interested in.

The library was as huge as the hall they went to earlier. The left side of the two-way door was opened and that was where they entered. The giant shelves that lined up neatly welcomed them. There was also a wide space before the shelves though the giant shelves were the first thing they would see upon entering the Magic Academy's main library.

Signs were placed at the sides of the shelves and all of them were available to the students.

Luna turned towards Blair. "I might take too long reading books, you can read on your own or left if you got bored," she said.

"I'll have some books to read to. I'll just go towards the business section," he said.

Luna heaved a sigh of relief. She didn't want anyone to find out about her researches. It's been a while but she didn't forgot that she was still looking out for more information about the lightning element.

"Though I can help you first to find books if you like," Blair said.

"No need, you go there already. It's just about my research," Luna said.

Blair somehow sensed that it was some important research that she didn't want anyone to find out. He smiled, turned around, and then walked to the shelves about business sections.

'I'm finally alone!' Luna thought.

She heartily read the signs on the side of the shelves and stopped by after seeing the section about magic elements.

"Lightning, lightning," she whispered.

After a while, she picked up ten books that were almost equal in thickness. Ever since she stayed in Vermillion, her reading ability was faster than ever before. Since she just needed to skim some parts, her research would be faster.

She took a table on the left side and started reading.

'I can do this! Too bad I don't have any notepad in me,' Luna thought.

After many hours, Luna closed the black hardbound book. Many details about the lightning element were just the same except in one book. It was entitled 'Where does the light come from?'. It sounded like something similar in science topics though the contents were very different.

It talked about how the man who used this might have a fire magic element and lightning was a rare branch it produced. And it would depend on a person on how he/she understands lightning.

It was just a thin book but it held important keys to her research. As it was in the Magic Academy's library, she would trust its credibility and continue further based on the book's contents.

If it was solely dependent on a person, it would be easy for Luna as she had a good understanding of lightning. As a studious person from Earth, everything would be a piece of cake. If magic responded to her, a power that once stood from the top would soon appear in the grasp of her hands.

"Now, I have to return this all. But I still have to read more after this," Luna said.

After the lightning element, Luna still had healing powers. Her knowledge alone on Earth would not be enough. She also needed to understand the kinds of healing spells there was on Vermillion.

'With that, I only need to modify some spells or maybe create a whole new spell," Luna said.

After returning the books except for the one thin book she needed, Luna immediately walked towards the area about healing subjects. Not once did she complain about how many books she still needed to read. Her thirst for knowledge was just increasing every time she saw some books to read.

"Healing spells, support spells, the foundation of healing," she uttered.

Luna went back to her desk after that. She wasn't wrong. The healing spells and support spells were not that different from each other as healing spells could count as support spells also. She could make support spells with her white and golden flames. Also, she kept researching how a healer could increase his/her speed.

'I didn't want to be as slow as a turtle forever!' she thought.

Though her thoughts were interrupted when she read a very interesting healing spell.

'Goddess' Authority'

Her eyes lit up. It wasn't just a single spell but a set of spells. Luna was still unfamiliar with the term set of spells, but it was indicated in the book that it was stronger than any individual spells.

And this one had a total of ten powerful spells. Each of them required a huge amount of magic and several years of training. Ironically, these spells were intended for a person with a strong sense of judgment but it didn't need one to be a saintess as being one often means forgiving everyone which would contradict the contents of the spells.

"Okay, I'll learn this one though it is complicated so it will take some time to modify it," she uttered.

Luna was not one to worry if she would learn new spells, instead, she was thinking if she would be able to further improve the spell.

Although this one wasn't rare like the lightning element, it was said that only the chosen ones could learn this and there would be a huge uproar if they saw a person chant this.

Luna expected that upon seeing the spells' name. As it was just lying in along the sea of books available to everyone, the Advanced Mages weren't expecting that the students would be able to learn this and instead would serve as knowledge that there were exist a spell that could equal a goddess' powers.

Although someone would be curious if they saw her holding this book since she's the well-known student of the Honorary Master Mage. As much as possible, Luna wanted to keep her powers secret until she used them in front of everyone. As a precaution, she would borrow several magic books to mix the ones she truly needed.

"That's all set!" Luna said.

She continued studying while Blair sat on the far left side waiting for her to be finished.
