The next morning, Luna could be found staring mindlessly in front of the huge blackboard placed on the wall. The classroom was wide and vast with only twenty chairs and tables several meters away from each other. And the pure white painted walls and gray flooring that were paired with big windows didn't help her.
'Why do they have this kind of room? Too intimidating, it wouldn't help students!' Luna thought.
Luna wasn't scared of what would happen later when the Advanced Mage arrive but the style of their room meant that they wanted the students to feel intimidated. Moreover, she wondered why there were only a few students that would attend here.
Before nighttime, she received a letter saying that it was from the Head of the Lower Students' Association. The contents were what room they would be in and what time they would start. The lectures were short and the students here had more hours to train.
The only one she knew that's already in the classroom was Blair. It appeared that they all have mixed magic classes despite the short hours they would have daily. The rest of the students went inside though they looked like it was a normal classroom.
'It's either classroom in Vermillion are all like this or they are old students,' Luna said.
As she couldn't just stare at every student that entered, she did not see if all of them had golden-tier badges. If it was the case, she thought that this room holds special classes to students that wouldn't fit the normal ones where
they couldn't be assessed with common sense.
A male and female walked up to Luna. From afar, Blair stared intently at the two persons.
"Greetings, Lady Luna Noir sien Mendelevinn. It is really to be expected that you will be in our class," he said.
The female one soon followed. "We have watched your battle and it's great but I strictly advise that you should not be too relaxed and content since Magic Academy is filled with more talented students than you imagine. That's all," she said.
They immediately turned their backs and returned towards their respected seats as if they didn't want to give Luna the slightest chance to speak.
Luna's face twitched. The audacity of these two students had already reached the skies. And here she thought that it would be peaceful with few students.
'It turns out that having special classes inflated their egos,' Luna thought.
Not long after, the familiar leader of the Lower student's association came in. His aquamarine eyes, dashing blue robes, and long platinum hair tied elegantly at the back caught the attention of the students especially the female ones filled with glittering eyes except for Luna.
The man in front of them could break the hearts of many like a shattered glass with his single 'no' but Luna's heart was as hard as a diamond.
"Good morning, students. We have two new students here. Within a single day, they achieved golden-tier badges and stood at the top of the single battle. Don't belittle your new classmates, is it clear? Moreover, Lady Luna and Blair, you will have each other as a team since special class' students are grouped in two's. I advise you sit near each other to familiarize yourselves," he said.
Blair was the one who stood up and exchanged seats with the girl at Luna's left. The Advanced Mage in front didn't know that they knew each other very well as Blair kept on following Luna around like a child though she didn't mind having a companion. He would be a great help in the future since she seemed to attract the most defiant students she could ever imagine like a giant magnet.
"All right, it's all set. This special class is for the students that will become senior students in a few years to come so work hard and smart. Let's start with our lectures," he said.
The way the different foundations of spells were explained finally made Luna admire the mage in front as a savior covered by a golden light. Her slender hands wrote the important keys while her mind began to formulate the spells she would modify in the near future.
'This lesson has just decreased my burden in trying to modify some spells!' Luna thought.
"Lady Luna?" The mage said.
The lady who was in the second row of the class was busy in her own little bubble. He didn't know whether she was paying attention to class or not.
"Y-yes?" Luna said.
Gibberish laughs from some students were heard by Luna. Her left brow raised upon their childish actions that didn't reflect their dignified identities as a golden-tier badge holder.
"Enough students. Lady Luna, my question is how can a spell be more powerful and special that can be your trademark in your life as a mage?" he said.
Luna stood up with conviction. Her dark eyes looked straight upon the pair of aquamarine eyes and raised her hand to summon a golden fire.
"The first one is to be able to summon your magic element without a chant. Then the special spell one should use is the one he/she has already mastered and can be used efficiently," she said.
Then Luna raised both her hands and a magic circle beneath her appeared in golden light like that of a goddess. She began to cover them with her self-made healing spell. The physical and mental state of the students and even the Advanced Mage were improved significantly in a blink of an eye.
The mage in front filled with utmost curiosity decided to hear what she have to say next. It wouldn't matter how long she would take.
"That is an example of an efficient spell. I can use it anytime I want without worrying about the magic amount it needed to use. The second one is to modify it. I call it modification," Luna said.
The Advanced Mage raised an eyebrow. An unfamiliar term invented by the Lady sounded so good to his ears.
"Modification?" he asked.
"Yes, it means enhancing a spell's flaws to make it better and powerful. Look at this," she explained.
Both her hands were suddenly shaped into a gun and the golden flames were at her index's fingertips which the older students saw her using spells in that form during the single-battle event.
"Some details are a secret. But in simpler terms, I modified my spell using my golden fire element to heal at an even greater distance with the same level of healing. This modified spell can also be applied to my other fire as some of the people here already knew," she continued.
Luna fired it towards the window for them to see how fast it could travel. The golden fire shone brightly at her fingertips and then was already at the window in an instant that glowed like a sun above the skies.
"Well done, Luna you may sit," he said.
He smiled awkwardly and forced himself to remain composed. It was wrong to doubt this Lady who seemed to not pay attention in class. He quickly reminded himself to not underestimate the great Honorary Master Mage's student.
"But I wonder how strong your offensive spell is. Sir Quinn, can you let our new student display her spells?" the woman said.
Luna was in front of the seats but she clearly noticed that she was one of the students that had the audacity to insult her earlier.
"Oh? Lady Luna, would you mind?" Advanced Mage Quinn said.
She wanted to but felt a little hesitant. Her white flames were very dangerous and couldn't be used everywhere especially in this closed space.
Her worried face somehow made the Advanced Mage's heart tightened but quickly reassured himself.
"Your worries are unfounded. Buildings especially in our special classrooms. It can hold a powerful senior students' magic and even more for lower students like you currently are," he said.
Luna stood up once again. "Alright, since some already saw it, I'll show you a modified version I just thought of earlier," she said.
The Advanced Mage summoned a transparent shield over the students. Surely, Luna wouldn't be able to destroy the building but it couldn't be said to the lower students' fragile bodies.
Harsh winds began to blow even though all windows were closed when Luna opened both her palms. Ten small white flames could be found in her fingertips that got denser as she filled it with magic.
Then she fired it without hesitation.
Soon, a giant mushroom cloud astounded the people walking around near the building. The roof flew far away from the place and fortunately landed in an open area without injuring anyone. Then the pure white walls were shattered and their wooden chairs were nowhere to be found.
Because it was strengthened with strong magic, it didn't disappear but the furniture inside had been turned into nothing aside from the students and the Advanced Mage.
"S-sir? You said it can hold a golden-tier holder's magic," Luna mumbled.
"Uh-m, T-that's what I know too. As I let you do that, I will be the one responsible to explain what happened to the higher-ups. You can rest easy," he said.
Despite that, all of them seemed dumbfounded and no one dared to move an inch until an old man in blue robes came in.
"What happened!"
