Luna finally closed the last book she had read for today. The ones she chose to borrow were about ten pieces of books with the two important ones she needed to take notes to and the others were just extras. She quickly separated the books she would return and the other she would borrow.
Then Luna heaved a sigh of relief with both hands on her waist. She's finally done for her today's endeavors.
'It's all set. My plans for the future will be studying spells thoroughly,' Luna thought.
When Luna was finished stacking up the books, her sight went around the vicinity and suddenly stopped. At the far left corner, a man in his ashen hair and bored orange eyes was sitting in a wooden chair with his elbows on the table and was reading the book with a yawn from time to time.
He only stopped when he soon noticed a person's long gaze. The person was Luna. His once tedious orange eyes immediately shimmered in delight and smiled like a child to Luna. The latter signaled him to come forward which he shortly followed in long strides.
"You really didn't leave huh? The bored look on your eyes is very obvious," Luna said.
Blair shook his head in disagreement.
"It's nothing when I'm waiting for a friend. I'll stick with you since I like strong friends," he said.
"Okay then. I'll just return these books," Luna said.
"I'll help you," he said.
Luna agreed as he seemed to have pretty strong limbs. Then, Blair carried all the books she wanted to return in one hand that showed how he balanced it with ease while walking towards the healing section.
'Hope I can do it too,' Luna lamented.
He came back after returning the books to their respective places.
"I'll just ask the librarian if I can borrow this all," Luna said.
"Let me carry it," Blair said.
Though Luna shook her head. "Let me but you can carry it back to the castle as it will be quite heavy for me," she said.
"As you've said," Blair uttered.
They walked towards the librarian whose busy checking all the books on her table. She turned towards them afterward. Her hazelnut eyes in black eyeglasses stared at the books while talking.
"What is it?" she asked.
"I'm a new student, and I wonder if I can borrow all of this," Luna said.
"Oh, if you're a new student, you will need eighty points for ten books," she said.
Luna's face fell. She didn't expect that they have such rules here and tried asking for more information.
"Is there no other way?" Luna asked.
The librarian finally looked at her. "There's no--- oh, I think you can but only five books," she continued.
Luna was once again bewildered. "Why can I suddenly borrow 5 books?" she asked.
"You have a golden-tier badge. I would have mistaken you for an old student if you haven't said so," she said.
"Then I'll just borrow--," Luna said.
She was stopped by Blair who wanted to volunteer and borrow books for his dear friend. It was the least he could do. He showed his golden-tier badge. A swordsman badge.
The librarian blinked her eyes and adjusted her glasses. Suddenly, it seemed like the new students were flocking with high-tier badges that were common only for the older students.
'I have really become busy that I haven't heard the news outside," she thought.
She took a huge brown hardbound record book.
"State your names," she said. The librarian began writing the book's titles as she said it.
"Lady Luna Noir sien Mendelevinn," Luna answered.
Upon hearing that they need to state their name, Luna began to ready herself with their exaggerated actions.
'Here we go again,' she thought.
"Blair Rosenheim," Blair said.
Her hands had stopped writing. This time, the librarian wanted to have her ears checked. This day was really a very different day from her regular mundane life.
"C-can you repeat your names? I lost track," the librarian said.
They repeated their names slowly and clearly for her to catch up though Luna knew that it was just an excuse to cover up her shock.
"All done, you can bring it outside now. You have two weeks before you return it. Failure to do so will have your points deducted in the future," she said.
"We'll gladly return this on time," Luna said.
Then Blair took her borrowed books and they both went out of the library. It was already past noon and she had skipped lunch without knowing again.
"Blair! You didn't go to the diner this lunch earlier?" Luna said.
"I did not, I forgot. Maybe I'm still reading that time," he answered.
Luna didn't know if he was telling the truth but it didn't matter now. Because the important thing was she wanted to eat now. Even her curious mind that was clouded with spells to learn was soon replaced by savory foods.
"Well then, let's eat and my treat again since you accompanied me and don't worry about the cost. My master has given me so much money that I don't know what to do with it," Luna reasoned.
Blair didn't refuse. "Well, I will gladly accompany you, Luna," he said.
When they reached the hallway to her designated room, they saw Sylvette. The latter stopped and greeted them.
"Hello, Luna, Blair. We wanted to show you around Magic Academy but we sadly can't today, Luna," she said.
Luna hastily shook her head. "No worries. I have something to do anyway," she said.
Her fingers pointed towards the stack of books in Blair's hands.
"I even forgot to eat lunch. Yesterday, I forgot dinner, hope I'll not skip any for tomorrow," Luna said.
"You haven't? Well, I'll join the two of you, it's my break time already," Sylvette said.
"That's good then, I'll just place this in my room," Luna followed.
Then Luna took all the books from Blair and entered their room. She hastily placed it on the study table in her bedroom and went out.
"Let's go!" Luna said.
She really felt hungry for today. Her two companions silently followed while watching her delighted expression upon thinking of food.
'She's one relaxed person in this stressful Magic Academy. Gifted persons are really different," Sylvette thought.
Sylvette didn't know much about Luna but being the Honorary Master Mage's student, she sure was a different person compared to them.
When they reached the diner, Luna and Blair suddenly stopped. She was confused.
Until she saw a senior. She didn't know her as there were many students to this academy to remember but her badge showed off that she was definitely a senior.
The senior's light green eyes glared towards Luna and her clenched fists were clear to see. She was controlling herself as she couldn't afford to have her points deducted just because she went into a fight inside the diner.
"Oh! Greetings Madam, there are surely more tables by now right? Anyway, I have to eat now," Luna said.
Sylvette didn't know how to react when she heard how Luna had addressed the senior.
"I'll have you know your place. Remember my words," she said.
The senior left in long strides outside the diner.
"Who's that Luna? You know her?" Sylvette asked.
"A woman I met this morning. Blair met her also," Luna said.
Sylvette smiled awkwardly while they walked towards the royal blue table. She had an idea what happened this morning by the looks of the senior towards only her and not Blair. Though she didn't ask any further. It seemed like Luna knew how to handle troubling people but she might be seeking more trouble upon herself.
'Like master like student,' she thought.
Then they all peacefully eat when their order came.
