Chapter 25 - Chapter 4: The Cold Stare of a Strategist.

Akira wake up in a bed he had a pounding head ache and he was confused on were he was this time. He turned to his left and Mia was lying next to him and on either side of him Morgan and Ella had their heads on his legs. All he could remember was him being chained and then he was here he couldn't figure out what happened to him, but he realized something out his injury's were gone. "Impressive isn't it that's the power of demon king I mean I couldn't let my contract holder die now could I?" He sat for a bit before he noticed Morgan looking at him. Tears were running down her face. Akira couldn't look her in the eyes, but she was the one to start. "How long." How long what?" "How long have you had that contract!" "Why do you want to know?" "Because I want to help you Akira, but I can't if you don't tell me what's going on." "Is that really all? Hell the only reason you ever stick around is because I saved you! You only stick around because you feel it's your duty to pay back your debt to me so why should I ask for help from you!" Morgan's expression turned to sorrow. "Is that really what you think of me?" He didn't say a word. All Morgan did was stand up with her head tilted down and her hands in a fist and just started to cry. "you jerk." "What?" She lifted her head Akira expression changed when he saw the sadness and anger in her eyes."YOU JERK YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT YOU!" She then ran out of the room. Ella began to wake up and so did Mia. They looked at him for a few minutes before Ella wrapped her arms around Akira. "Sojiro your awake we were so worried we thought that you had...." Ella couldn't finish that thought. Akira took her hand "I'm not going anywhere Ella." Her tail started to wag. "Hey what about me I was scared to." "But you know I'm ok Mia?" "Well I don't know if all of you is ok so let's get those...." and with that Ella knock Mia out and grabbed her. "Will let you rest hey have you seen Morgan?" "Ya she woke up first, but she..." he thought about telling Ella about what had happened, but he didn't want to involve her. "It's nothing she went out for some air." "Ok will get you something to eat in the mean time." The two of them left leaving Akira alone. All he could do was sit there and sleep. It had been their final week of middle school and as they usually did Akira and Akeno were walking home. And Akeno couldn't stop laughing about something that had happened. "Oh come on I was telling the truth there's nothing to laugh about." "Oh come on it's a little funny. 'I'm sorry, I'm focusing on chess so I have no time for a strategically invent tedious thing like dating' I mean only you would say no to the most desired girl in school." "I don't think breaking Haru's heart was funny besides it could never had worked out." "Please explain?" "Well because I don't feel the same way she did." "Oh really well who would you have feelings for?" "I don't see how this relevant to anything?" "Well just play along for a bit." "Ok well let's see..." "hey asshole!" Their conversation was stopped by a group of high schoolers and one of them didn't look happy to see Akira. "You got some balls breaking my Imoto's little heart. You now how long it took her to get the courage to do that? It took her three fucking years!" He walked up and grabbed Akira's uniform. "What makes you think you can go and break her heart like that?" "Hows it my fault I didn't feel the same way how could I be in a relationship with someone I don't have feelings for?" "Oh I see you get a kick out of making girls fall for you and then breaking their hearts is that it?" "Look your logic behind that was flawed at worst or horribly miss construed at best." "What's that supposed to mean?" "It means your trying to jump to conclusions on why I would say no to your sisters confession when every other guy wants to be her boyfriend. Well it's pretty simple if you stop to think about it." "Just tell me already!" "I already told you I wasn't interested in her in fact I'm not interested in a relationship right now!" His cold stare told the guy everything that he said was true. The brother let go of Akira's uniform and left Akira and Akeno alone. "Akira are you ok?" "Ya i'm fine Akeno you don't need to worry about me." Akeno didn't think of what else to say she had known him for forever, but since his last match he had gotten cold and distant when ever they hung out he would just sit and ponder his next move when ever he looked at her his eyes seemed serious and collected he once would joke around with her or cuss her out on accident, but now he seemed further away some how and there was nothing she could do to stop it. "Hey Akira you never finished answering my question." "I'll have to answer it another time its getting late." "Ya ok, but do you promise?" "I promise Akeno." And with that they continue home. Akira awoke from the memory in sadness. "I never did get to answer that question huh. Well it was always obvious what my answer was ... and it was always you Akeno."
