Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

I didn't know how to dispose of the body, so I left it like that. I still didn't want anyone to find out about me being a Quadra-Elementalist. I opened the door and got out. I didn't even go out to the city like I wanted to since using that much magic for the first time had exhausted my body. I went to my room afterward and went to sleep. .After an hour or two, someone found out and there were many investigations. The king called me a couple of times to talk about it since I was the last one he was talking with. I obviously had to create a story.

My cover story was he wanted to take me as his disciple and I left the room. I guess the case was dropped after a few months since they didn't get any evidence. They even detected magic from the body and traced it all the way to me, but it didn't make any sense to them. In their eyes, I was only a child who has been only studying magic for around four years. Prince Adrien did come over and talk to me about it, but he believed me right from the start.

I guess this was a procedure. We did get a new magic instructor after two weeks into the case, so classes can resume for everyone. I was able to learn more about the Dominant state of each element. I learned how to produce lightning pretty fast, since the instructor was trying to give out easy instructions. I continued to practice every night and try to reach a new level. The king had been giving me tips from time to time how to absorb Ariella's soul little by little.

There were three phases when you absorb the entire soul as your own. The first phase allows you to use some powers of the beast. The second phase allows you to change some parts of the body and transform. transform and be able to use about half of their powers. The third phase is the ultimate phase where one is allowed to use the full extension of the beast's power. The class of the beast also determines the strength you acquired. I always wondered what type of class Ariella was. The day that I was supposed to leave was nearing faster and faster as I trained my hardest. I haven't told mom, dad, and Arthur when I am coming since I wanted to keep it a surprise.

I slept tonight well since tomorrow was the day I was finally going back to my real family. I missed mom, dad, and Arthur every day since I got kidnapped. I loved Albert and Maria a lot too, but not as much as my real family. It was kind of weird since I spent more time with Albert and Maria. When I woke up, I couldn't breathe. Something was on my stomach and it was heavy. I opened my eyes to see Serena sitting on my stomach, ready to punch me. Before I could speak, she punched me aiming for my head. I luckily dodged. Was she trying to kill me?

"What are you doing, Serena?"

"Dad told a maid to wake you up, but I insisted on doing it myself. Get ready because Dad wants to see you in the throne room."

"Why can't you ever wake me up normally?"

"Because I don't want to." Serena crossed her arms and turned her head and pouted. "Today is the day you leave, right?"

"Yes. I'm pretty excited too." I said with a smile. I guess I really am excited. Serena looked hurt. I guess I was too straightforward. "I-"

"I HATE YOU!" Serena clenched her fists and punched me right on the chest. Damn, talk about being strong. She got off of me and ran outside of the room.

"I guess she is really sad that you are leaving, young master." It was Priscilla, my personal maid. So I was hard on her. Priscilla helped me get ready and took me to the throne room. The throne room is the same ever since I got here. I usually visited King Howard in his study room, instead of the throne room. Everyone was there, including Albert, Maria, Serena, Eron, Adrien, King Howard, My instructors, and Elise. They were all smiling at me. I guess they were all here to send me off. Maria was trying so hard to smile, but it wasn't crying. Serena wasn't even looking at me. Cleo came over to me and put a hand around my shoulder, welcoming me in. I walked in.

"Alex, I hope you are ready to go." I bowed my head in respect before I answered.

"I am." Serena made a disapproving grunt. She definitely didn't want to go.

"Let's go to the portal in the room next door. Shall we?" I nodded and let him lead the way. We all followed him through the hall. We stopped at the door. King Howard put a hand over the door and a whitish-yellow light formed between King Howard's hand and the door. Light magic! The door opened by itself. King Howard was the first one to go in and then I followed along with Albert and Maria. One by one everyone came in.

The room wasn't huge at all, instead it was a medium-sized room. It was also filled with vines and had a part of a tree trunk with a big hole in it.

"This is the portal. I just hope you have a comfortable trip. I called King Tyson to inform him that you were coming. He should be able to take you to your parents back in Flores." I nodded in understanding.

"Alex dearie." Maria turned me towards her. "You will always be my son wherever you are, so please…" She had started crying again. She took a moment to get herself together before talking. "So please, don't forget us." She hugged me and cried on my shoulder. I hugged her back, holding her shaky body in my tiny arms.

"Son, please be safe. I will try my best to protect you from my end, so I want you to try your best to protect yourself and your loved ones." I nodded at Albert and gave him a small smile. I went over to my two instructors and nodded at them.

"Make sure to be safe." That was their only message. I went over to Adrien, Cleo, and Eron. They all gave me pats on my back, quite hard. I even choked from those impacts.

"Make sure to train hard because I want to have a rematch when we get stronger." Adrien must have taken that battle to his heart. I actually liked the competitiveness in him. I went to Cleo.

"That is not fair. You had a duel with Adrien and not me. I have been waiting for a rematch since like forever." Cleo gave me a friendly pout. I laughed.

"Next time, Cleo." I went to Eron.

"Hey, you definitely have to come again. I promised to show the city and I always keep my promises. I will personally show it myself too." I patted Eron on the shoulder.

"I will definitely look towards that." I gave Elise a nod and went to the last person, Serena. She still looked quite angry at me.

"Hey, Serena." No answer. I kind of guessed it too. "I'll miss you since you are the first friend I made." I could see tears dripping down her face, but she still kept her angry face and was not looking at me. "I am sorry this was sudden, but I…" I didn't know what to say next, so I walked over and gave her a hug. "I really will miss you and I do not want to see your angry face before I leave. We will definitely see each other, Serena." I could feel her starting to shake as she let out her frustration and started to cry on my shoulder.

"Why do you have to leave? I will feel lonely again." I didn't answer back, but I let her kept on crying on my shoulder until she felt better. She backed up and took out her pinky. "Promise me you will come back." I twisted my pinky around hers.

"I promise."
