Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

What was this pain?

I felt hands on both of my shoulders. It was my dad. He was kneeling on one of his legs and looked at me. I could see his mouth moving, but I couldn't hear him.

"I can't hear you." I let out a groan as the pain started spreading slowly. It was like the pain was crushing my bones wherever it went. Dad started to panic. He looked up at mom and said something to her. My eyes followed her as she rushed out of the door, followed by Ami. Arthur stayed behind with a concerned face.

The pain was starting spreading a little bit faster towards my legs and arms. I began to lose feeling in them, but I could still feel the pain. My legs collapsed, making my body collapse on the floor. I let out a breath that I unconsciously held. Dad picked me up from the floor, making me wince in pain. I tried moving my arms, so I make a little space since he was crushing me. It was useless. It was like I got paralyzed. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath. I held it in as much as I can and let out my breath in quick sets.

It didn't help much, but I kept on doing it. As I continuously meditated that I usually did for mana, I felt the pain got a tiny bit better, but it still spread and couldn't move. When the pain reached my head, a sharp pain entered my skull, making me scream in pain. I felt dad jolt in surprise.

The weird thing was that after that sharp pain, I could move my body again. My body was aching, but I could move. I tapped on dad's shoulder and pointed down once he turned his attention to me. Dad slowly let me down while still holding onto me. I felt another spike of pain on the back of my head. Even if it was not as painful as the first one, it still hurt. I turned back to see Arthur's worried face. I gave him a small smile until another spark of pain entered the front of my head. This time I felt a little pull to the front as I felt the spark of pain.

At first, I didn't really respond to the pain, but it hit a second time, but a lot harder, and the pull was more vigorous. Was I supposed to do something? I walked to Arthur to see how my body felt. It was normal, and the aching had decreased. I felt a vibration where the last pain was. I stopped. What was that? Another spark of pain and pulled replaced the vibration. I took a step, and the vibration started again. I started walking past Arthur and went out of the room. I stopped as another spark of pain happened, but this time it was on the right side of my head. When I walked that way, the vibration started again. It was definitely leading me somewhere. I looked back to see Arthur and dad had started following me with confused faces.

"Alex, where are you going?" Dad spoke out to me while following me wherever I was going.

"I don't know, but I will explain it later." I heard multiple footsteps rushing towards me. I looked to the front to see mom and a couple of other people. As soon as mom reached, she bent down and put her hands on my face, examining me.

"Alex, I brought our best doctors in our mansion, so let's go to your room and let them examine you." I shook my head. I was fine now, except for the pains in my head that was guiding me somewhere. Another piercing pain. I needed to hurry, so the pain would stop.

I walked past them. I could feel their stares on my back, but I didn't really care. With all the walking, I had finally reached a door. The pull was definitely strong. There was something in there.

"Whose room is this?" I turned to my family and the doctors that had followed me all the way over here.

"It's yours. I made sure I made it to your liking, but if you don't we can always change it."

"Can you tell the doctors to go away because I'm alright now?" One of the doctors made eye contact with dad. He waved them away. They all left, leaving me with my family. "Can I go by myself first?"

"Why? I have waited forever to take you to your room." Mom looked at me. Should I? I didn't know what was in my room that made me suffer like that. What if it was dangerous?

"Mom, please!" Mom stared at me for a long time. "I just want to admire my room and it would be embarrasing, if you see me like that."

"What kind of reason is that?" I gave my best puppy face. I didn't know if it actually will work now, but I usually do it only if I really need too. When I saw a small smile forming and her awed eyes, I knew I got her. Mom sighed, which brought a smile to my face. "I am not a doting mother, but if you insist that much..." I took that as a yes. I went over and gave her a hug. "But we are coming in after five minutes, got it?"

I nodded in agreement. I walked towards the door of my room and slowly opened it. I closed the door and put on the lights. It was like a usual bedroom with a bed and table. There even a small mirror. The room was quite big, but I had been used to rooms like these back at Albert's mansion and my palace back in my past life. It looked quiet nice with a white and brown theme. Everthing was also neat and tidy. It didn't even look like they didn't expect me.

Something white caught my eyes as I scanned the room. I admired its marking. I walked closer to the egg that I was given when I wasn't even one. It was in a nest and had light on top of it. I wonder why it didn't hatch yet. It's been seven years. Was it dead? I went over to touch the door, until I heard the door open. Everyone was peeking inside from the door. Why don't people ever listen? At least, there wasn't anything dangerous here.

"Is this egg dead?"

"I don't think so. The egg is always warm, so that should mean it's alive." I tilted my head to get a closer look at it. It wasn't moving or anything. I reached out to get it. I felt a spark just as I touched it. I pulled my hand back before reaching out for it again. I touched it gently, checking if it will shock me again. It didn't. I picked it up and showed it to my parent. The egg moved, which startled me.

I placed the egg on the floor and noticed it moving. There was a huge cracked running through the egg. I heard a tiny little gasp from Ami.

The egg was finally hatching.
