In this world where all living beings grew stronger and extended their lifespan by absorbing Spiritual Essence inside them, Affinity could be said as what decided how strong one would become and what path they would take.
An Elemental Affinity meant that one would be able to grant their Spiritual Essence the power of elements ranging all the way from fire to darkness.
As for the other affinity, it was Armament Affinity. This kind of affinity didn't grant any special powers to everyone who awakened an Armament Affinity. Instead, it only allowed them to train using the particular Armament they awakened and learn to use them with more ease.
Simply put, an Elemental Affinity meant that one could become a Mage, while an Armament Affinity meant that one could become a Warrior.
Of course those with an Elemental Affinity could also train in using a weapon to become an Elemental Warrior who use the power of elements to engage in close combat fights giving them a huge advantage over those who train on a single path,
But, training on this path is more than twice as hard in comparison to training on a single path due to which only the rich and greatly talented geniuses would dare try to get on this path.
Of course there was no limit to the number of Affinities one could awaken making it possible for Dual and Triple Elemental Mages to be present, but four Affinities?!
Despite how much research Elijah, the no Affinity average talented boy did, he could count individuals with more than four Affinities throughout the history on his two hands!
What did this mean?
As long as Elijah picked four orbs and what he was witnessing wasn't a dream, the boy would obtain a total of four Affinities!
When that happened, would he still not be able to obtain the right to fight for and possess one of the Nine God Thrones?!
Thinking about this, Elijah was reminded of his sub par talent, but he chose to not think about it for now since he considered hard work to be more than enough to make up for his lack of talent.
Focussing on the floating orbs which were all completely different from the others and were made up of both Elementals and Armaments, Elijah completely disregarded the weapons since one could train themselves to use a weapon even if they didn't awaken an Armamental Affinity.
But giving their Spiritual Essence the power of elements, this could not be done unless one possessed an Elemental Affinity.
Therefore, Elijah's focus was on the bright coloured orbs.
Since he couldn't move from where he was, Elijah could just look and not approach them due to which he was worried that he would miss the affinity orbs hidden behind those he could see.
'Whoa!'
Letting out a surprised sound on the inside, Elijah discovered that even though he couldn't move, he could control the orbs to make them move however he wanted them to.
Discovering this, Elijah's lips twisted into a happy grin as he began waving his hands around as if he was a maestro who was orchestrating a performance.
Luckily, he didn't keep this up for too long and stopped before he annoyed the sleeping dragon.
'Let's think things through.'
Not giving into temptation and picking the elementals which were generally considered strong, Elijah did his best to resist the allure of the various variant elementals like ice, lava, and so on.
'Since I want to compete for a throne, I need my elementals to not only be strong but possess harmony among them as well. If not, I'll only be able to use one element at one time. So definitely no contradictory elements.'
'One element should be to aid my movement, and the other two for attacking. As for defence, the strongest defence is offence anyway.'
With such thoughts, Elijah calmly began reasoning by himself to figure out the four elements he should pick.
'Okay! Here goes everything!'
Moving his hand forward and summoning the three elementals he picked to choose his best.
One orb of blazing flames, one orb of wrath filled lightning, and finally one orb which looked like it contained cracked glass.
If not for Elijah's extensive knowledge about all things related to Spiritual Cultivation, he might not have noticed this orb or even put it aside due to not knowing what it was. But since he did know what it was, there was no way Elijah could not pick it.
Space.
Yes, the third orb Elijah picked belonged to the Space Element!
What was faster than wind? Space!
After all, have you ever heard of any faster way of travelling from point A to point B which could compare to teleporting?
Not even the speed of light could compare to teleportation regardless of whether it was for a short distance or a long distance.
Picking these three elemental orbs, Elijah hesitated to pick a fourth elemental orb since the more elements one trained in, the harder it would become to cultivate and advance the stages of cultivation.
Therefore, after thinking for a while, Elijah showed zero hesitation and began looking towards the orbs which contained Armamental Affinities.
A while back, Elijah planned on mastering four elementals and training in a weapon of his choice to become an Elemental Warrior. But since he chose to limit himself to three elements, Elijah began picking an Armamental Affinity which he felt would suit him and the elements he picked.
