Chereads / The Dragon's Throne (Hiatus) / Chapter 5 - Cultivating Three Times!

Chapter 5 - Cultivating Three Times!

Climbing out of the huge crater which was eight feet at the deepest end, Elijah immediately noticed that his physical body had grown stronger.

Was this because he obtained four affinities?

No!

Decisively refusing since such a thing wasn't possible, Elijah was sure that this was due to his newly awakened Spiritual Totem.

At the thought of this, Elijah who knew what the most common powers granted by the Spiritual Totems were started grinning like a fool as his eyes also began shining like the brightest stars to ever exist.

"Release the Dragon!"

"Super Dragon Mode!"

"Great Dragon Transformation!"

"Eighteen Palms of Subduing the Dragon! What?! No!"

"The Divine Dragon Form!"

Continuously shouting cringe worthy names while at the same time moving his body in weird ways, Elijah stopped with his embarrassing display which luckily wasn't witnessed by anyone after half an hour with a face that was red.

Not just due to how much he exhausted himself by screaming the names out loud, but also because he was ashamed of himself upon realizing everything he did.

"How stupid of me. My Spiritual Totem is obviously not a beast transformation or summoning one."

Shaking his head and sighing loudly, Elijah began thinking that it would've been better if his Spiritual Totem had woken up sooner.

What Elijah didn't know though was that he was very lucky with his Spiritual Totem staying asleep until now.

Due to how mysterious Spiritual Totems were, very little information was available about them to the common public making it impossible for Elijah to know much about them.

This was also why Elijah didn't know that a Spiritual Totem awoke after absorbing enough Spiritual Essence from the user. Therefore, given how it empties a pond full of liquid Spiritual Essence, what would have happened to Elijah if the dragon had started sucking his Spiritual Essence away from when he was very young?

He most likely would have given up on trying to cultivate after thinking that he was one of those unlucky ones who could never cultivate.

Spiritual Essence Cultivation was actually so simple that anyone could do it and didn't even require them to possess a technique to do it.

All the cultivator needed to do was absorb the abundant Spiritual Essence around them inside their body and keep storing it inside their Sea of Consciousness.

As for cultivation techniques, they did exist and very highly sought after by every cultivator.

Why? It was because using a cultivation technique to absorb Spiritual Essence greatly increased the speed at which one could fill their Sea of Consciousness with Spiritual Essence.

If so, then how did the one who possessed an Elemental Affinity turn their Spiritual Essence into an Elemental one?

Doing this was also just as easy as absorbing Spiritual Essence inside them. All the cultivator needed to do was make the Spiritual Essence they absorbed inside them pass through the orb of Elemental Affinity inside their Sea of Consciousness.

As soon as they did that, the Spiritual Essence which passed through it would turn into an elemental one the very instant it exited the orb.

Therefore, Elijah who knew this sat down inside the cave and focussed all of his attention inside his Sea of Consciousness.

Spiritual Master.

This was the stage which Elijah's cultivation was at.

Given his age, Elijah's cultivation was neither too low, nor too high. It could be said that most of the cultivators at the age of sixteen were around the stage of Spiritual Master unless they were geniuses who were gifted at cultivation or came from rich families and possessed limitless cultivation resources.

Unfortunately, Elijah was neither of them.

In fact, Elijah actually had zero talent in cultivation. And Elijah himself also knew about this. But, with sheer willpower and determination as his two weapons, Elijah never once stopped cultivating and arrived at the 8th Level of Spiritual Master not too long after he turned sixteen which put him in the above-average group.

But, since he didn't possess any affinities, Elijah's strength by itself wasn't anything great. And adding on his speed of cultivation, all of the teachers at the school felt that it was a pity his future prospects weren't going to be great despite how much effort he put into cultivating.

But now, now that Elijah possessed a total of four affinities, even if his speed of cultivation was very slow due to his mediocre talent, the boy himself was confident in growing to be very strong sooner or later.

And so what if his talent in cultivation couldn't help him out? He'll just find a way to obtain resources rich and overflowing with Spiritual Essence to aid him in increasing his speed of cultivation.

Thinking about this, Elijah gritted his teeth and decided on what path of cultivation he was going to pick.

He was going to cultivate three times!

Yes, three times!

To those who possessed affinity with multiple elements had two options to pick from regarding how they would cultivate.

The first way was to cultivate in the normal way and share the Spiritual Essence converted into elemental into equal parts and breakthrough into the next realm when the total Spiritual Essence inside the Sea of Consciousness passed a certain amount.

As for the second one, it was to cultivate the multiple elements individually. In simple terms, if one needed 10 Spiritual Essence to breakthrough from level 1 to 2, following the second method, those with two elemental affinities would need 20 Spiritual Essence to breakthrough.

What did this mean?

Cultivating would turn as many times harder depending on the number of elements one wanted to cultivate separately. And to Elijah who had three elemental affinities, it meant his path of cultivation would be three times harder than the others who cultivated a single or no elemental affinity.

But the advantage was also similarly great. If Elijah managed to train his three elements to the peak of the Spiritual Master Realm, anyone fighting against him would feel that he was fighting against three Spiritual Masters!

With such a huge advantage, how could Elijah not pick this path?
