CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX
In a building surrounded by a large body of water.
A middle aged guy puffed out the last smoke from the cigarette in his hands which was almost reduced to nothing.
He moved from the glass wall he stood in front of before, went directly to the window and threw away the remnant of the cigarette.
He went back to the glass wall and watched the horizon. He wondered what could be happening in the other side of it. He wondered how his mom and his little sister might be doing. Well, Desi was a smart one, he knew she could take care of mother.
It had taken him, time, energy and men to break his father out of prison. He knew that his mother and sister would be suspected for it but it would die down sooner or later because no evidence would be found. Well, unless someone else wanted to frame them.
His father hadn't woken up since the escape. He had been comatosed because the impact of the drug given to him was too much.
Just then his butler came in and said.
"Master Nicholas your father is awake."
He quickly ran out of the door and entered the room where he had kept his father. The man sat on the bed gazing strangely at the servants, and the doctor. He checked his arms, it wasn't bound. No prison wardens. The bed he sat on was so soft and comfortable that was when he realized that he wasn't in the prison. He was probably in the hospital. But how did he get injured? As he tried to think about it his mind became hazy and he had a slight headache. The door opened immediately and a handsome figure that he thought he would never see anymore appeared.
"Ni.. Nick is that.... You?" He stuttered.
Tears formed in the eyes of the young man who entered the room. He muttered.
"Papa."
Frederick jumped down from the bed and embraced his son.
They embraced while communicating with their tears and heart. A lot of words were left unspoken.
At the University's restaurant.
Desi sat down looking at Daphne. Who relaxed while having her lunch. She wasn't in the mood to eat in front of this person. She wondered why she had come.
After eating her lunch she fumbled through her purse and then brought out a blue envelope.
She stretched it out to Desi on the other side of the table.
"My engagement party is next weekend. You are invited."
"You can stop the facade Daphne, we are the only one's here."
"I want you to see me get engaged to your beloved Limuel."
Desi just listened to whatever it is she wanted to say. She didn't have the strength to reply her. The incident that morning was something she couldn't forget. How was she going to face Michael now. She placed the envelope in her bag and excused herself. She did not want to spend another minute with her.
She walked to her class humming a sweet melody to herself. She tried as much as possible to forget how lustful Michael's eyes were when he asked her that question in the morning. She felt herself collide with a body. Looking up she saw a face she'd been avoiding the whole week. She blurted out his name.
"The restaurant guy!"
"Hello beautiful."
Not knowing where to run to she decided to confront him whilst acting coy.
"Ferdinand how are you doing?"
"It's Felix and I'm very much okay... at least after seeing you."
"Why are you here?"
"I came to see you, I forgot to get your Phone number the last time we met. I believe we're going to be great friends."
Desi heaved a sigh of relief. He didn't mention the bill. What was a phone number? She would willingly give it to him!
After getting a sheet and scribbling down some digits she gave it to him and left.
"Bye Ferdinand."
He knew she was avoiding him but that intrigued him more. He was willing to play along with her. He watched her retreating figure and said.
"Bye and it's Felix."
