CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
There was silence in the dining room till the the whole meal was finished. Courtesy of Desi. Immediately she saw those dishes displayed. She had already made up her mind that she wouldn't let the food waste.
Sharon burned with jealousy ever since she heard that Desi was Michael's wife. When did this marriage happen? Why wasn't she aware? She pondered.
Well, since there was no wedding. There's no need guessing that it's a sham marriage. She still had a chance!
"So Michael when are you going to have a wedding?"
Desi stopped halfway as she was on her way to the rest room. This was the very question she avoided throughout the dinner.
"My wife and I are living happily together. We'll have a wedding when it's convenient for us."
After listening to what he said. She went on ahead to the restroom.
She took her time to ease herself, afterwards she came out to retouch her makeup .
"Stay away from Michael."
She raised her head to see Sharon standing on the door way. She smiled at her. She didn't want to waste her time with this insane woman.
"I'm not interested in your darling Michael. You can have him if he wants you. I don't want you blocking my path when next we meet. And of course, you should know he's too old for me." She left immediately.
What she didn't know was that a figure was in the male restroom which was opposite the female's. That figure had heard everything that conspired in the restroom. His face darkened and became colder. He strode to the living room with a tightened face.
Desi was busy with chatting away with his mother when he entered. They were laughing heartily at their own gossip.
He felt an arm on his left chest and he turned to see Sharon trying to touch his right chest. He quickly brushed it off. Walked to Desi, grabbed her arm and purse and dragged her towards the exit.
"We would be leaving now."
He announced and even without a proper goodbye, he left.
Until she was dragged into the car, her mind hadn't registered what had happened.
Michael came in through the other side of the car. And the driver started the engine immediately.
"What was the meaning of that?" She asked.
"You didn't notice that your husband was already tired and needed rest. You were just there chatting with his mother. Have you forgotten your duty to your husband?"
"Michael Kingston you are unbelievable!"
"That's right, don't you think it's about time we consummated our marriage? The earlier you give me a child the earlier you get out of this marriage."
"You don't need to remind of that. I know already, but I'm not ready yet."
"OK."
