Kia looked at the pocket the medallion is resting in and he then leaned back and asked "So why does the tribe need your earth spirit anyways?"
Lea put her hand over the pocket and said "We are going to use it to repair the forest that the dragon attacked so the tribe could rebuild their home there." She then straightened her back "It's time we finish this journey. So you can get your money." Lea said with a plain tone in her voice.
They had been riding for four days in tree filled forests and then all the sudden they hit a black field with burnt down trees and ashes everywhere. The only color that could be found was the still burning ash and the group of people that were digging through the fallen trees. Lea jumped down from the wagon and took the lead and they went to a massive burnt trunk that was carved into. There he saw seven old elves sitting in what looked like a shrine. Lea walked to the elders inside then grabbed the medallion got on a knee and bowed to them. She then spoke "I am Lea Greenshaw I was sent here by the elders to offer you all our earth spirit to help regrow your home." She then looked up at the seven elves and one stood before her.
"Thank you for coming now please let me take the spirit that you have brought us." The elder said. Lea then stood up and gave him the medallion. He turned to the center altar of the shrine and walked up to it. He placed the medallion in a hole that was carved into the altar and he spoke "Please earth spirit answer me heal our forest with great haste and give us new homes so we may survive and worship you. As the head elder of the Noombi tribe grant us this request." As he bowed his head a green patch of grass appeared under the medallion the patch then began to spread.
Watching the patch spread was breathtaking to Kia. He then walked outside to see the burnt charred ground disappear and trees sprouting up out of the dead trunks lying around. Kia then looked at the massive tree as it gained its lost color and sprouted up and outward as if time was only moving fast for the forest. As Kia looked down at the altar, he saw the green earth spirit moving throughout the room and then stopped in front of Kia. He then focused on it more and saw it was a fairy that had been sleeping in the medallion "Yumi?" at that moment Yumi flew back to the medallion. As soon as all the growing had stopped and everything had blossomed and the trees were regrown the fairy slowly sank back into the medallion.
"Thank you, Lea, for assistance with the medallion please stay here and rest for as long as you need it's the least we can do for you." The elder spoke with such appreciation.
"We will take you up on that offer sir elder." Lea said with a bow of her head.
"Please call me Elmon." The elder said with a smile.
"Thank you Elmon. My name is Kia" Kia said in gratitude.
"Archer come please show Kia where they will be staying and where they may keep their wagon and such."
"Yes, elder right away."
As they began to walk away the elder Elmon asked Lea to stay for a moment to speak. "Lea who is that man you traveled here with he isn't elvish unless he is your husband?"
"NO THAT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE! He found me injured and he saved my life so I felt it would be smart to bring him along."
"Okay I see quick question what is he then because I know he can't be human."
"What makes you say that?"
"As an elder I have seen lots of spirits being used and their aura showing and I sense a very strong aura with that young man. His aura is dark black and is lurking around inside however its being suppressed and controlled by a lighter aura almost as bright as the sun holding the darkness at bay. There is something about his aura that scares even me and could even scare a dragon."
"Your joking right he might seem weird but I doubt he has that much power at his fingertips."
"Then let me ask you this did you notice how he spoke to the earth spirit and called it Yumi as if they spoke before." At that moment Lea remembered about the time she was asleep and found Kia holding the medallion in his hands. "Don't say anything to him but do try to figure out who he really is and who his family is as well and what his intentions are in the world. Most of all be careful around him everyone knows where a strong warrior lives danger is sure to follow."
"Yes, elder I will be careful." Lea said calmly. Kia wouldn't hurt me or else he already would have. However, Elmon is right I need to find out more on Kia and see what he is trying to keep from me.
"Lea really quick before you go, I want you and Kia to go west to the mountains tomorrow there is a human village I am friends with the mayor who is dealing with a problem with a crime guild please go check it out for me."
"Will do elder and please everything we just discussed, let's keep it just to ourselves."
Elmon nodded in response "my thoughts exactly".
