The sky was blood red with the sounds of a roaring battle coming from all directions.
With demons filling the skies and villages burning all around. This was the final battle in the
Great War between the demon lord and all the neighboring kingdoms. With all hope lost the
kingdoms were on their last legs and with no way out they began to give up. But then, when all hope was lost, a hero appeared in all the chaos and with him commanding all six elemental spirits. The hero began to push the demon lord and his forces back to the wastelands where no one has ever come back from. In order to get the demon lord pushed back the hero began to use the spirits he had by his side. Using each spirits power he was able to move the earth, bend the flow of water, summon pillars of fire, change winds and control night and day. The hero used
these powers to slaughter the demon lord's minions like they were flies and were completely defenseless. As the Hero got closer to the demon lord they got closer to the wastelands. When the demon lord was along the border the Hero made one more attack sending all the power he had into the demon lord's chest throwing him into the thick mist of the wastelands.
With the demon lord never to be seen again, the kingdoms went back to peace. Cleaning
up the mess the demons created. However, a blacksmith came across a young child laying in the arms of a winged woman with long blonde hair and white skin. The women had been fatally injured protecting the child and as she slowly turned to look at the blacksmith, she told him "please watch over my child teach him to fight and survive and please most of all never tell him his mom was a…." before she could finish however, she died.
The blacksmith took the child home and did exactly as the women requested of him. He
spent 15 years training the child in combat, basic magic like crafting and transferring magic into elixirs as well as the history of all the kingdoms. However, the old blacksmith grew ill and sadly died leaving the 16-year-old alone to run the shop and carry on his "father's" legacy as a helping hand to those who requested it. What the teenager didn't know was his story has only just begun.
-4 years later-
It was a calm sunny afternoon as a young man with slick black hair and yellow eyes was in the forest collecting some timber for his shop like he usually did when he had no projects or jobs lined up for him. It was supposed to be a normal day but that changed when he happens to
come across a woman lying under a tree with a cut going down the side of her back. The woman was in thick green clothing made out of leather and leafs. She had short green hair and had bruises covering one side of her face. The man noticed that she was unconscious but still breathing. The man pulled his wagon that he was using to carry all the timber and laid the women inside.
As he rode the wagon and parked it in the barn he had constructed on the edge of town he took the young women and laid her down on a stack of hay. As he placed her down her head shifted and revealed a pointy ear. The man was confused but chose to go look away and ignore it. As he began to remove her clothing to expose the wound he thought to himself "Could she be an elf? Why would an elf be this far from the enchanted woods?"
After removing the bloody clothes he went to a crate and began to grab some bandages
when all of the sudden he heard the hay rustle around as if something ran threw it startled. As he turned to see what had happened he saw her standing on the pile of hay with a shining silver dagger that she had pulled from a hidden holster around her waist. The cut on her back opened up even more due to the sudden movement causing a steady stream of blood slide down her body and form a small puddle on the stack of hay she was placed on. She looked at the man and with a
steady but strong voice she barked "Who are you? Where am I? What are you planning to do with me?" She then looked down to see her shirt had been cut off causing her to quickly cover her breasts with her free hand shouting "YOU PERVERT!"
The man's face turned bright red and as he turned away, he explained "My name is Kia.
Kia Hasashi, I am a carpenter and this is my barn. I found you badly hurt and was going to clean and patch up your wound. Also I AM NOT A PERVERT!"
The woman slowly lowered the dagger but made sure not to look away from him "My
name is Lea Greenshaw. I am an Elven noble from the Greenshaw tribe." She answered him with a slightly weaker voice than before.
"May I tend to your wound then Ms. Lea?" Kia asked with a calm collective voice.
Before she could say anything the dagger dropped from her hand and she began to fall
with her eyes slowly shutting. Kia lunged forward just in time to catch her. He then put a clean blue blanket he always kept with him in the wagon down on the blood soaked hay and he gently put Lea down on her stomach so he could properly see the cut. About 6 hours later she woke up to see him lying on a stack of hay with his arms covered in blood she then looked at the side of
her back and noticed that the cut had been patched up and was no longer bleeding. Then she quickly reached into her pocket and pulled out a silver medallion with a shining green gem in cased in the medallion. As she stared into it she heard someone say "Looks important. What is it?" She looked up to see Kia still sitting there staring at her and the medallion.
She looked back at the medallion and said "It's a sacred emerald with an earth spirit
sleeping inside it. I was sent by my kingdoms elders to take this medallion to one of our elven tribes in this kingdom that had been burnt away by a dragon but while on my way there was a group of dark elves that attacked me. I had to leave my trail in order to make it out." She moved her left hand to cover the covered wound and said "I almost didn't make it out alive."
"HOLD UP!" Kia jumped in "Did you just say dragon as in the giant fire breathing
lizards that can level a city?"
"Yes" Lea answered calmly.
"But they are told to have been relocated to a far off canyon by the 10 great mages." Kia
persisted
As Lea put the medallion away, she looked up to Kia and said "They were but somehow
a fire dragon found a way back to the enchanted forest."
"Do you know what may have driven the dragon back because I doubt it was all just by
chance?" Kia replied.
"No" Lea answered. She slowly looked at Kia and with her hand over the cover wound
she asked "Do you know much about the enchanted forests and how to survive in them Kia?"
Kia looked to Lea and said "Yes I know alot about the forest I was taught by my mentor.
He taught me all about the magical world and the forest we were also given a lot of jobs that required us to go in the forest and either find someone or something."
Lea then looked a little embarrassed and asked, "May I hire your services in delivering
the medallion then? I fear if I was to attempt it alone and was attacked again I may not survive."
Kia looked at Lea with a questioning look and asked her "Wouldn't you want to find
someone better though?"
"Yes but you seem to know more about the enchanted woods and the magical world itself more than a normal human would know. You also said you were hired for jobs before so you could think of this as one of your jobs." There was a pause then Lea added "My tribe will pay you for your troubles with rare woods, treasures, anything you may want."
"Fine but I won't come cheap I will be expecting full payment when all of this is over."
"Deal" Lea said confidently.
Kia then walked to the two stalls on the far side of the barn and pulled out two strong
horses already prepared to be hooked up to the wagon. He then turned to her and said "So you coming?" He jumped into the wagon and extended his hand out to Lea. As Lea stood up and took Kia's hand. They were off.
