I grabbed my small bag of clothes and some books and flung them in a bag and flung it over my shoulder.
I was ready to get going so I pulled my hood over my head and quickly left the shelter of the cave where I had grown up. It had just started raining and the ground was a little muddy as I trudged through it.
I was dressed in all black clothes and pair of black combat boots. I had weapons strapped all over me that were only concealed by my clothing. At first glance people would mistake me for a traveling boy, and an easy target.
However what most people didn't know was that I was quite the opposite, I was female and quite lethal. I had trained under a master for most of my life and before I could master everything he left me.
Of course at this point in my life I was used to people leaving me, but something about him leaving didn't feel like everyone else who had left. It was different, almost as if he wanted me to figure something out.
That night after my master left I slept feeling uneasy and awake before the sun came up and started scouring the village. To my shock my master actually had left something. A clue, he wanted me to use my skills and find him. Which was fine with me, for the first time I had a purpose and that thrilled me.
I had spent the next week forming a plan and reading over maps that he had left me. I had looked through the village a couple more times and found one more clue. It had one word printed on it, "North."
So that's the direction I set out in, hoping to find my master and find out his reason for leaving me. Along the way I searched for any clues or inkling as to where he was but came up empty and decided to try a little village. The village was called Huntsville.
It was a village notorious for housing criminals, thrives, assassins, and a lot worse. It was also know to be the best place to hire a mercenary. Housing that many people the village was barely big enough for them. There was a place where tourists could stay. Hotel Death. The hotel was not crowded by any means but was extremely noisy.
As soon as I entered the hotel the smell of alcohol immediately assaulted my nose. I walked up to the bar keep and flashed a good coin, he took it and pointed to a man leaning against the wall.
I walked up casually and he pointed to a staircase and followed behind me as I made my way up them. Even upstairs it reeked. There were six doors on this floor and they looked like they were falling apart and rusting.
"You can stay in this room for a month. No more than that unless you pay more." The man said in a deep voice.
I nodded my head slightly and he chucked me a key and made his way back down the stairs. I unlocked the door with ease and immediately palmed a dagger as I entered the room. There was two beds and a bathroom in the room. Not big but not extremely small either.
I slowly slid my sack off my shoulder and let it thud on the ground. I knelt down and pulled out string and scissors and paper and started Bobby trapping the room. Nobody was getting in her unless invited.
"Where are you master?" I whispered underneath my breath as I flopped onto one of the beds.
The bed was hard as a rock but I fell asleep within a heartbeat and dreamt nothing as darkness slowly swallowed the village whole.
