_Present time_
I remember waking up and Sasha being gone. She hadn't even left a letter back then I was sad and didn't want to get close to anyone physically afterward.
At the time I was young and Sasha had meant a lot to me. She spent eight months with me and like a ghost she disappeared without a trace.
"Why did you leave that night? Why didn't you stay?" I asked now.
She opened her mouth closed it and continued pulling me along.
Only when we entered into a small dead end alleyway did she speak, "I am sorry that I left, I shouldn't have but I had lost all of my family and you, I didn't want to hurt you."
"So you decided that it was better to leave me instead? How is that not hurting me?" I whispered quietly and backing away a step.
Hurt flashed in Sashas eyes and vanished in the blink of an eye as she slowly walked backwards.
"I'm sorry, I didn't want to hurt you I just-you just covered for me and took care of me and that kind of freaked me out. You were everything that I needed and that scared me," Sasha admitted softly.
"If that's true then why did you leave me? We could have talked and worked something out,I could have helped you with your fears," I said as I slowly approached her.
Within seconds she had retreated backwards and was leaning against the wall when I caged her in with my arms, blocking her escape.
"I literally would have left my home for you, I would've died for you, so why leave? You were the sun and the stars to me. You were everything and you left me all alone again," I said in a sad husky voice.
"I am truly sorry, I regret how things turned out and if I could do it differently I would, I'd stay and we'd figure it out. Though I suppose now it's too late to fix anything now, you hate me," Sasha said sadly as a single tear escaped down her cheek.
"Hate you?" I whispered note crying myself, "How could I ever hate you? Sasha I love you. Don't you see, you mean the world to me and not stopping you from leaving was the biggest mistake I ever made."
Her breath hitched as realization dawned through her. I had let my head drop and Sasha gently placed two fingers under my chin and forced my head up.
For a few moments we simply looked at each other both full of emotion.
All thoughts of my mission vanished and all that mattered was her, it had always been her, my one missing piece. She was the reason I got out of bed in the morning, the reason I drew breath into my lungs. Just like that I knew I would never let her go again.
Once moment we we're watching each other the next her lips crashed into mine and all my anger and sadness faded away. It was as if she never left me. I suddenly felt while and complete.
Sasha struggled to pull away and panting heavily she did and just smiled, "I was so wrong to ever leave you, never again," She promised as she jumped into my arms her legs wrapping around my waist and her lips finding mine once again.
Despite everything that had happened Sasha was here and we were together again and I was happy. I wanted to worry and dwell, but that had never gotten me anywhere in the past.
I don't know how she found me or even knew to look for me but right now that didn't matter. All I cared about were her lips on mine and her by my side.
"So while I'm out doing actual work you come back with a girl attached to your side?" Shu asked with a chuckle roughly four and half hours later.
"She's not just some girl and I did do some work," I started with a smile.
"I and Sasha, Yuri and I used to live together but because some things happened I had to leave, but now I'm back," She said quietly a bit shy.
"I can see that," he said to Sasha then looked at me seriously, "So what did you find out?"
"Tonight at midnight there will be a circus and there will be a special quest appearance, nobody knows who. I suspect it will be someone who could lead me back to my master," I answered with a tired sigh.
"Indeed, I found the same information, but I also know where so I went ahead and bought tickets," Shu said proudly with a little puff of his chest.
"So tonight we'll go in as regular costumers and you two will go in first and see if you see someone who looks like him or even knows him or has heard of him," I say completely serious now.
"What will you do?" Sasha asks concerned.
"I will be doing something else, I can't tell you what it is right now, but I'll join you guys in there later," I say gently trying to ease some of her worry.
She nods her head and quickly looks away. I know that she's still worried but she won't fight me on this.
I gently squeeze her hand and look back at Shu, "We all set out at eleven so be ready, but until then let's go explore the city together," I say with a wicked grin.
We might as well have some fun before we essentially head into battle. Things could get messy.
I try not to show any of the lingering worry that I have that something might go wrong as Sasha looks at me and instead keep talking and joking with Shu.
