A look of shock crossed Daniel's face. Guy was a member of echo? No, Guy IS a member of Echo. How is that even possible? How could Guy's father be a founding member? He had been retired for as long as Daniel had known him. These questions and more ran through his mind. His entire perception of the past was in an uproar.
The man behind him kept silent as these thoughts raced through his mind. But the silence as soon broken. "We do not have much time. You must choose. Become a slave for the government, or be one of our agents. Everything will become clear in time if you follow us. If not, you will find ignorance is truly not bliss."
Daniel grit his teeth before he answered. "What do you need me to do?" The sentence seemed to take all of his energy, leaving him slightly sagging. The restrictions on him lifted, and his body fell to the floor. The man behind him began to speak once again.
"One of the men who came to get you is one of out agents. He will pass you the information you need. Our organization managed to pull some strings, He will be in charge of your training for both the military as well as our organization. You will recieve a far more comprehensive training than Guy recieved. But do not let it go to your head. All of our operatives in the military recieve the same training, plus they have years of experience. You will be like a toddler with a laptop. The tools are all there, you just won't know how to best operate them. "
"Your comrades in the military will have been trained from a young age. All of them are experts. Your specialty lies in food, and your avatar in the new world likewise specializes in food. However your avatar had no strengths or weaknesses, this would normally be a disadvantage, but it will allow you to learn everything wr have to teach. You will just not be as good as a specialist."
"Your future will be solely in the virtual world, just like your friend. You will be in there twenty four hours a day. Your body however will stay alive. You will be monitored at all times. They will install certain devises on your machine to make sure that happens. Thankfully our organization has made certain countermeasures for that. Your trainer will naturally inform you of them when the time is right. "
"One final thing before you go. Do not be reckless. Our organization is putting a lot of money into your training. and have already used countless resources to make this communication happen. We have invested in you, and will continue to do so if you contribute. One wrong move will not only cause the death of you, but potentially your family as well. "
"We do not have any more time. Your body is about to enter the military base. From this point on you will be on your own. Trust the agent we have placed in charge of you. Through him you will recieve the training needed to reunite with Guy."
