I move my vision back to the Hawk I flap my wings and begin to fly back to my main body. No reason to leave my greatest creation out in a possibly dangerous place. I guess I could probably just pop back into my main body and move the hawk without looking... But that just sounds dangerous... I just made the hawk I'd hate to lose it so quickly. As I fly back I notice something rather different... Before me is a tower... It's my tower? Wait... No... It's me... But I grew to much... I was only growing at about a inch a second before... Now I'm so large... My body once comparable to the shrine now towers far above it. Did I become an adult? That's weird... What was my status again? I try to turn my head to alex... But it's difficult to fly properly and turn my gaze to my rear like that... I mean this is LeafHawk not LeafOwl... I quickly land ontop of my shrine... I was a little scared I might shatter it into pieces but it seems it held up pretty well. I then turn my head to see alex.

This is... Wrong... I'm little? If I get much bigger I will be to large for the cavern... My leafs now barely would need to be expanded to reach Leafhawks size... They are about equal to the rats. I doubt this space will be big enough even if its expansed but that would mean I will die here right? I mean I was able to drag my body out the last time... But this time I'm to big to fit in the cavern... I don't have as much control over my roots either. I'll be crushed if I grow to big... Eh dammit why did I have to evolve into this damned divine tree I'm sure a beast wouldn't be this big... They need to eat after all so being to big would be a detriment as it would require a massive amount of food to feed them. As a tree though this body makes more sense because my food is the ground and the light. However if the ground didn't have enough nutrients I would likely not be able grow so big... Did my roots being partially wiped out add to all the blood and corpses that was in the soil making it even more potent? Hmm... Is there a way to reverse that? Grow me plants? No not a option yet... I could try eating the nutrients in the soil nearby at a extreme rate but that might just cause me to grow even faster. Eh I guess there's no solution but to hope my fears are just as dumb as the time I got the independent roots. The rats that I had left here when I finished the hawk seem to still be gathered now starring at the tree as it grew quite quickly I guess that surprised them about as much as the leaves turning into birds.
It certainly is quite weird. Now that I think about it can I even make more birds? I mean I should probably make one for all the rats. Aren't there a few hundred thousand... That'll take quite awhile... Unless...
I use one of my now huge leaves and gently began to tear it into smaller sections and then form the sections into birds with equal portions of the now larger stem have to make a extra stem to make it the correct amount for the 4 different birds but this should work. After they fell I made them walk over to the crowd and wait to be taken... This'll take awhile... Also the fall is a bit harsher on the leaf birds now if it wasn't for the fact they can fly they definitely would have been crushed to death by gravity... I should try growing the leaves a little bit more and making a cocoon for the birds to fall in just encase I ever attempt to make none flying creatures this might help... I wonder if I can even do that... A problem for later... Still inside of LeafHawk I decide to go look for the king. He wasn't in the city and he's not here. He must be out in the cavern somewhere... Or outside the cavern... I do believe my hawk form could fit through the cavern's entrance and navigate the caves after all with it's wings furled it's about the size of the rats and they do it. Wait... didn't I drop roots all throughout the caves... Are they trees now? That would be a issue I mean a forest in a cramped cave would be far to much to allow any creature to pass. I hope the rats aren't having any issue with that while flying towards the cavern entrance I begin the mass production of birds. At this rate it's about 4 times as fast because each manipulated leaf is 4 of them. With each that falls it seems more rats come to claim there own idol or pet... it was never clarified what the rats considered the birds to be... Every once in awhile I'd try to make one or two more hawk-like creatures but I never expanded the leaves and didn't worry about bones so they were a bit smaller and weaker. I did however give them talons and a beak of wood so they could be a backup fighting force. I housed the larger ones up on my branches in a dormant state since they are just leaves they don't seem to need to eat or sleep and none of my birds have turned to stone yet. Then again I haven't seen the army of soldiers who crafted the leaf armor so I still don't know how long the leaf armor lasts. However there do appear to be some leaves that fell before that had turned to rocks... From time to time I'd see grey rats walking by picking them up. I think I'll dub my new weaker hawkish ones LeafRavens... Seems like a acceptable term... After awhile the rats that were gathered around my tree all left... I only know because I could feel the birds they were carrying leaving and no more birds were being picked up. So I started mass producing ravens for awhile. Once my branches were all full of the ravens I then began sending them towards the city. I cover the entire wall in the ravens seeing as it is my job to protect the rats. Side by side the entire wall had ravens perched atop it. Then I made a few more ravens and sent them out into new parts of the cavern so that I could just pop over to them when I wanted to look at my new expanded areas. As I continue flying towards the entrance I notice that a rat was walking around at the door... Guard? I mean they did attack me immediately upon getting close before... Also... Do they use my vine wall to make a actual door? As I get closer I notice the entrance is a lot wider and it's not a door but a gate... A large wooden gate... Most of it is my old roots that appear to be still alive but also not trees... that's good... but there are portions of it made out of stone and mud I'm guessing the rats did that. They are pretty good crafters... It's weirdly good... Anyways as I approached I noticed the gate to the outside was wide open and the rat that was passing back and forth is just one of many who appear to be guarding the entrance. The entire outside of the gate is covered in stone and mud I'm guessing to allow for better protection against flame based attacks my roots wouldn't stand up to them well but if there's stone in the way they could probably easily take the force of the attack. As I leave none of the rats really do much to acknowledge me they just kind of step out of the way.
