Chapter 17 - No Malicious Intent

Deneza has been in a dazed condition, lost in her own world for so long. While walking to whoever knows where as she left her feet to do the job of taking her wherever it wanted.

She didn't stop until she felt a bit of pain in her feet. She knitted her eyebrows before looking down. It was then that she discovered that she had no slippers to protect her feet from the ground. She lifted her foot to look at her planter. It was bleeding. She turned to look to the ground to see a spot of blood that she had left.

Her entire face was twitching to discover it. How can she be so dumb that she didn't notice it sooner? Stupid enough that if the place she runs off to is not a hospital, but the underworld, she doesn't even know how she died. If she was someone who had escaped to prison from the underworld and left such traces. It would have killed her!

"Did my brain melt because of the high fever I had that day?" She said with plenty of self-mockery. She could honestly admit that she had actually become foolish after that day since its already irrefutable. "Or did their stupidity infect me?" She was whispering softly with irritation on her face.

Seeing the wound in her foot, she didn't know if she had to laugh or cry. She couldn't tell what made her foot bleed, but she was sure she had that wound when she jumped off the floor from the third floor. She might take a step sharp enough to make her foot bleed that bad.

She rolled her eyes to herself because she hadn't realized it earlier. She took her guard off too much. Without hesitation, she sat on the floor using the hospital gown she was wearing to clean the dirt and bloodstain on her foot. Shortly after she was satisfied with how "clean" it was, she tore the hospital gown again to use it as a temporary bondage and began to dress it. After she finished, she nodded her head with satisfaction as she rose.

Now that she's finally returned to earth. She looks around to see where she was while she titled her head, frowning to not know where she was exactly. However, she was sure that she was still in country X. Having walked for hours, she can now say which city she is now, and that's quite a distance from where she lives.

She doesn't have anything on her, she's got no phone nor money, and it annoys her. She can travel from City D to City K on foot, but she needs to eat and drink something! It would take him one to two days to get here. Make no mistake about it, although the letters D and K have 6 letters between them. It's still quite a distance. Sure, if you use a tren as a means of transport, it will only take you 3 hours. But the thing is, she has no money on her! Even if she did, she couldn't get on the tren because she has no identification card.

She clicked her tongue because of her irritation: "Leilanie should have given me money!" She didn't know how much money Leilanie gave to those dumb thugs, but giving her a hundred will do her no harm, right? But it's a stupid thought to have. What makes you think Leilanie would give her money? She was the reason she ended up this way, how can she be kind enough to give her money for her welfare? It is totally hypocritical! That's absurd.

She looked in front of her as her eyes narrowed, she returned to walking thinking about her next move.

She can still keep it even without any food for 3 consecutive days but she must have had something to drink. Asking for water on the road is a simple task, because it is only water, it won't hurt them. It won't hurt their pocket with a glass of clean water.

"Mom, is she a ghost?" A child like voice sounded that could be heard not far away from her and make her halted. She turns and sees two children, the boy points his finger at her while the girl hides behind the boy.

Deneza was knitting her eyebrows while her face was darkening. "I'm having a deja vu" She said to her mind silently.

"Don't look at her, come, come!" The mother drags her two children far from Deneza, the mother seems so frightened.

"Hey, hey, look for a hidden camera! I suppose it's sort of a prank from one of the vloggers.."

"Are they producing new horror movies?"

"I suppose so, but she doesn't look like a ghost to me, she looks more like a patient who escaped from the mental hospital."

"She's likely a patient who died from the unsuccessful surgery. Look at the bloody props! That does seem surreal."

"No way! She looks like a white lady to me."

"A bloody white lady who was looking for her lover."

Deneza heard what they said. She has heard their ridiculous remarks about her. They haven't even attempted to lower their voice when they bad mouthed her, but say it out loud like the party they are talking about isn't in front of them.

She can understand why they are making absurd remarks to her, since she eventually noticed her current get up. Her hair was dishelved, the hospital dress she was wearing was tainted with her blood and it was so torn since she tore it twice for making a temporary bandage. There's even a bloodstain on her face, arms and legs. Since she doesn't have a bandage on her right arm, her burned skin has been exposed and the scars that appear so gross are completely exposed. Even she would think the same thing.

She wondered, what would their reaction be if they discovered that the blood was real and not a prop they had in mind? And she actually escaped from some hospital?

"You're the white lady! Your whole family is the white lady!" Deneza shouted as she raises her fingers and pointed one of the netizens who was holding their phone. They seem to video recording her.

"Oy! Why are you recording me? Stop that!" She said and was about to grab their phone to delete it when she halted.

She didn't look around, but she felt someone has been eyeing her intently. Although there's no malicious intent, but they probably hide it very professional which would be difficult to detect if she wasn't vigilant. Their skills are remarkable that will not be easily noticeable, but a pity for them. She already felt that someone was following her, but since she wasn't sure they were following her, but now she was certain.

Deneza has already forgotten the people who were recording or taking a photo of her because her entire attention was these two people who were following her from behind.

"What would be their goals by following me?" She questioned her mind silently.
