Cyan did not like the human city. The city was not modern in the slightest, it was very much reminiscent of the dark ages. As they walked the streets they saw piss and shit being thrown into the streets, while a poor fox beast man used a broom to sweep it into a container. There were several people shouting, and carts driven by horses driving around, almost hitting several people.
There was too much going on, and his pack was getting antsy. Unfortunately he had to bring them along, as they would appear to just be wild wolves to the locals and hunted, which technically they were. They might be his pack, but they would still defend themselves if provoked. This amount of stimulus put them into a bad mood, likely to strike out.
Beka noticed the situation and spoke out. "Have you considered getting a pet storage space for your wolves? They are expensive, but you should have enough with the money those guys "donated" to you." She noticed that he had no idea what she was talking about. And grabbed him by the hand leading him down the street. She soon found a shop with plenty of animals inside. She took the money he had and ran inside, soon coming out with a leather bracelet with four metal spikes. She also had four leather collars that looked similar.
"This item is a set, if you put the collars on your wolves they will have a connection with the bracelet on your had. You should be able to summon them or put them away at will. Each space is tailor fit to a specific animal, and all of these spikes are ideal for your wolves. They should be very content inside."
Cyan relayed the information to the pack, and they were pretty apprehensive to the idea, but at that moment a carriage with the image of crossed blades swerved towards them. The stimulus was enough for the wolves to accept. They quickly disappeared into his bracelet as the collars were placed on them.
"I had to get you the cheapest model, the wolves are stored, but unfortunately you can't upgrade it to fit more than what you already have. Also they are bound to the bracelet so if you lose it, they are gone until you get it back. Fortunately the bracelet is bound to you, so while you are alive no one else can use it. You still have enough left over to purchase us some clothes and some food."
As she was done speaking the doors to the carriage that had pulled over a short distance away. A young human man stepped up, his neat and clean appearance standing in stark contrast to the filthy environment. He oozed arrogance as he walked towards them. His voice was cultured, and immediately annoyed Cyan. "You must be Cyan, the guild master has informed me to fetch you. If you will come with me please." He looked disdainfully at the couple. "And try not to get your filth in my carriage."
Cyan looked questioningly at Beka who nodded as she whispered "the Crest on the carriage is the symbol for the adventurers guild. We might as well catch a ride with him since that's our destination any ways."
"Can I ask why the guild master has summoned me? I have just arrived here, and am in need of some clothes."
"How am I to understand the leaders wishes? All I was told was to summon you, and you will have the chance to shower and clothes will be provided to you before you are given the opportunity to meet him."
The couple got into the carriage, and the man had a look of dissatisfaction on his face as the beast man were trapped in close quarters with him. Thankfully for all parties involved the trip did not take long. Cyan gazed out the window, looking at the city as it passed him by. Eventually they had entered an area that seemed far less trashy than where they had previously been. When he asked about it he was informed that they had previously been in the slums, and were now moving to a slightly richer area, in which the guild was located.
They arrived at a large majestic building that was placed on a giant wall. The wall separated the noble area from the commoners. This building had a large sign with the symbol on the carriage. Under heath it were the words adventurers guild.
The carriage pulled into a large garage like shelter, filled with several other carriages that were similar. From there they were escorted in through a side door. They traveled down a set of stairs, ending up in a large hallway with several doors. The man spoke as the stopped in front of the 4th door on the left. "For some reason the guild master has given you this apartment, you will live here for the time being. There is only a single bed" he glanced at the two "but I don't think that is going to be a problem. There is also a kennel downstairs for you to store your pets, I'm sure they would prefer it to living in that bracelet. Inside your apartment you will find a dock for the bracelet. They will automatically be transferred there. Someone will be here to fetch you when the guild master is ready. Do not make him wait."
The man left after giving them the key. The apartment is not something you would expect to see in a medieval era world, it was surprisingly.. modern. Not modern as in electricity, though there was running water. There were also some appliances, a refrigeration unit, that seemed to be run by magic, as well as some lights that were probably run by the same. There appeared to by runes of some sort on the wall, which were called a formation. The formation ran the magic of the entire room. All of this was explained in a note they found on a table in the kitchen. There were four rooms in there little apartment, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room and the bedroom.
The couple looked in awe at the apartment around them, they simply couldn't believe their luck. Both of them dashed to the shower, after Cyan explained to Beka what it was. The race ended in a draw, which led to both of their bodies being together in the cramped shower. It worked out though, as Beka stood 5 foot tall, and was rather tiny. Except where it mattered of course.
