The weak light of dawn shone on their backs as the trio entered the crypt. Magical torches lined the walls, shining a dim light into the dark corridor. Burr's high voice echoed through the hall as he spoke. "The entrance to the dungeon is just up ahead, it is easy to spot. This is as far as I can take you, as I still have to protect this place from other newbies who wander here unknowingly. Good luck your majesty and lady Beka."
The portal truly was easy to spot. A black spinning vortex stood at the end of the tunnel, it reminded Cyan of a black hole. As they approached he could feel his body being pulled towards the vortex, beckoning for them to come. Beka resolutely walked into the portal, leaving Cyan standing there awkwardly. He watched as the red cloaked rogue disappeared into the portal and followed apprehensively.
his body felt a slight itching as he went through the portal, but the feeling soon passed as he entered the dungeon. In front of him beka stood with her blade drawn, several undead could be seen patrolling ahead. It seemed that they had as of yet entered their agro range. she whispered as he approached, "I don't think they can truly see us, only sense us when we get within a certain distance. I will try to stealth into them, but be prepared to save me."
Her body suddenly disappeared, not just her body but her scent and the sound of her footsteps as well. It was as if she truly had disappeared. As he waited, Cyan took advantage of the time to summon his pack. the wolves appeared after a few seconds, startled but soon became excited as they saw Cyan. a familiar voice greeted his mind as Chica bowed.
"Greetings your grace. I beg your apologizes but I took over as alpha after the Dragon casted us out. However, it is both my honor and my pleasure to once again serve at your side. In my heart you will always be my Alpha. "
Cyan smiled as he ran his fingers through her fur "This is what I trained you for, do not apologize. You have done a good job in keeping the pack alive and happy. I am proud of you. " Chica wagged her tail in response. "Now be ready, those skeletons up ahead are our targets. we are investigating a dungeon, and they are the first group of many. Beka is stealthing up to them, we will attack once she is in place." as he spoke a small pebble came flying from behind the skeletons, Beka's signal that she was in place.
"That's the signal. These creatures are all ranged so make sure to close the distance before they can shoot too many arrows at you."
As he spoke he charged the skeletons, he had only advanced a few feet when the first wave of arrows rained down on him. He managed to dodge most of them using his high dexterity stat, but was still clipped on the right arm. the second volley of arrows followed not even a second later. From behind him he heard one of the wolves yip, but did not have time to check as the third volley was upon him. They arrows were like tiny missiles as the shot towards him at astounding speeds. Following his instincts he rolled to the right, as 10 arrows landed where he had currently been running to.
Cyan felt a shiver run down his spine as he looked at the arrows, this dungeon was really no joke. He did not have time to ponder on his misfortune though as another volley was already headed his way. Thankfully the skeletons seemed to think that he was the biggest threat, and they concentrated their fire on him. A few shots seemed to be lazily shot towards the wolves.
When the distance between the two groups had been halved Beka finally made her move. Her silver katana flashed through the air, and the skull of one of the archers went flying. The skeleton fell uselessly to the floor, as she continued her assault. Her blade flashed against another skeleton, chipping off part of the bone on its arm. the skeleton countered by bashing her with his bow, sending her stumbling back several feet.
Two of the remaining 9 skeletons joined the first skeleton as they turned towards Beka, their arrows went flying towards her sprawled out body. She rolled on the ground, avoid two arrows, but the third clipped her shoulder. she wasted no time as she once again entered stealth, her body halfway disappeared and her scent began to fade. her actions did not effect the skeletons though, as they continued to rain arrows on her. she stealthily evaded, disappearing once she left their agro range.
The reprieve she had bought Cyan and the wolves was enough for them to approach the skeletons, Cyan barreled into one of the undead. his momentum throwing it back as it shattered against the wall. Behind him the pack kept onto the nearest skeleton, they tore into the bones with vigor. Even Chica joined in on the action, though she kept a watchful eye on the enemy as she did it.
Cyan slashed out with his giant paw, his claws sundered the spine of a skeleton, its body falling limply to the floor. from the corner of his eye he could see the pack had decimated their target. Four of the skeletons had fallen, and the remaining six quickly began go retreat. They backed off as they began to knock their arrows. Six arrows flew towards Cyan, 2 of them managed to penetrate his body, his left arm and right leg. Ignoring the pain he limped towards the skeletons, the pack had already arrived. they split into two, both groups bringing down a skeleton.
A third skeleton fell, as a silver blade briefly appeared, separating its skull from its body. The blade and woman carrying it disappeared, Leaving the remaining three skeletons. They did not panic, They were incapable of it. Instead they targeted the wounded prey ahead of them. three arrows were shot in unison at Cyan, aimed at his chest. His right arm moved quickly, knocking them off target as they flew uselessly into the wall.
Next to him the pack have finished off their enemies, they began to advance on the remaining skeletons. they moved in unison, Bloopers, Pugsly, and Daisy each tackling a Skeleton as they bit into their necks. The sound of crunching could be heard as the bones were crunched with the wolves powerful jaws.
The first group had finally been defeated, with Cyan being far more injured than he would like. as he inspected the pack he saw that only Bloopers had been Injured, a long gash appearing on his side as an arrow had grazed him. With a grunt Cyan pulled the arrows from his body, his blood flowing into the stone floor. he looked at Beka, who had exited stealth and was walking towards him.
"How did you do that? disappear and reappear so quickly?" he asked
"It's one of my two skills. It's called sudden strike. here let me show you." A notification screen appeared in front of him.

Cyan looked over the information, the thing that first struck him was that her class was clearly assassin, and yet she had said it was rogue. The second thing he had noticed was that her dexterity had broken through the limits and that her cunning was exceedingly high.
"you're a reincarnater he said."
Beka nodded "yes, everything I have told you up to this point has been the truth. Well except that my class is actually an assassin, but that was only a half truth. Assassin is a sub class of rogue, with a specific skill set. Mistriss Janai told me to only tell people that I was a rogue."
Cyan grew angry "So was this all a Lie? Something set up by Janai to bring me to her?"
Beka shook her head "No, I was out on a mission given to me by Anna to hunt down that group of humans, they had been terrorizing the beast men members of the guild. I was to teach them a lesson. Some how they had gotten wind of my mission and laid a trap for me. If you hadn't saved me then I don't know what would have happened. When you went to see lady Janai Anna passed me a note saying that in was to continue working with you. "
Cyan nodded. At least it had not been a lie.
