Chapter 6 - 6 Clothes n Crises

Gone...

Everything was gone...

All that she worked for,

Living a life that is not hers is worse than not living one at all!

Bai Chen sat up cross-legged and stared blankly at the wall of clothes. Clothes that were oh so unfamiliar to her. The world felt distant.

It took many days for Bai Chen to break this depression. She had never thought of herself as a person filled with sadness, but this hole could not be filled easily. She was all alone in a world that was not her own and living the life of someone else. 'Bai Chen' no longer existed, only 'Lily' remaining.

A few days after, Bai Chen looked at herself hollowly in the mirror. Her sallow, thin body was loosely hugged by a night gown. She hadn't left her room in four days. Her meals were brought to her each day by the maid however she still couldn't bring herself to have an appetite, only a few bites eaten each day.

This wasn't her.

Bai Chen was an admittedly normal-looking chinese girl with an addiction to games and interest in fashion. Not this. This beautiful blonde girl whose hair would sit straight no matter the occasion and crystal-like eyes.

"Who are you?" Bai Chen couldn't help but whisper.

There was no reply. Obviously.

Her maid still looked on dead eyed. Her robot-like existence sunk in the truth the most. It was a game. Not real-life.

Bai Chen lied on her bed once again, the bed that was readily made every time she got off it.

The unrealness of reality was too much to handle.

She dropped onto her pillow and closed her eyes. The memories of her friends still fresh in Bai Chen's mind.

It felt like years ago, but it was only a few days ago, or at least in Bai Chen's mind.

She was playing a game with her friends. It was a battle game . One which her friends were addicted too. Her best friend, Fu Mingyu, game ID, Razorxxx, was on her team and the two of them had just lost unanimously. It had been like that for the past three games.

Bai Chen grunted, "If I had just gotten that star we could have won!" It was a habit of hers, to overthink after the fact.

Fu Mingyu was used to this and said coaxingly, "It's fine! The world is your oyster!"

"You know I'm allergic to shellfish!"

"Bahahahaha..."

A small smile escaped her mouth and her eyes winced, whether in happiness or sadness not known.

She thought to herself that this world must have been on equal value of the last. She had, fame and prestige, overflowed with money and was the heroine of the entire world! But she had to lose all her friends and loved ones and previous life to have it. How terrible.

Bai Chen mourned the loss of her life which in theory she thought was quite a weird thing to do. But the only thing she could do now is live in hope. Who knows? Maybe she'll make some friends and like a heroine live happily ever after?

She slapped her cheeks and got out of bed, putting on a coat and asking her maid to bring a sumptuous meal. Bai Chen wanted to go see the back garden, if she can't go back then the best thing Bai Chen could do would be to adapt.

While waiting for the meal to be prepared, Bai Chen roamed the decadent garden, peppered with lilies, roses and tulips.

It was a beautiful sight however was surreal for her.

It was too real to be a dream. Unlike it's previous cartoon-like artwork, all the people around her looked real. The gardener noticed her and bowed. Who would do that in the previous life?

But at least this life she wasn't allergic to shellfish, maybe the world would actually be her oyster this time...

A platter of food was placed on the long 24 seat dining table. Bai Chen's cutlery clinked against the plates. It echoed through the house. The silence was almost eerie. She knew that staying here all alone wouldn't be the most healthy decision. She was bored~~~ There was only so much a nice bed could equate for.

Bai Chen decided that she would go live outside in the hopes of finding friends or maybe a part time job or something. Just something she could do would be good.

I know!

Clothe shopping!

Bai Chen was desperate for a new wardrobe and with her parents dripping with wealth, why not?

It was decided! The next day she would go out and buy out all the world's black clothing! First however, she must snoop around for information on the fashion industry here?

As her maid was directly behind her, Bai Chen swung her head around to see her maid still eerily staring at her.

"May I help you, Miss?"

"Yes! Please tell me where the closest clothes shop is?"

"There is no such thing however there are two tailors in town."

"Alright."

If Bai Chen was to be honest, she had never had any tailor-made clothing before except for her own so she was both excited and anxious to see what this world had to offer.

Walking up to her room, Bai Chen looked at the maids lining the halls, obviously unused. Each had a white plaid tee with a black skirt and suspenders. If Bai Chen found some pink scrunchies jewelry or hat to go with she would be satisfied. "Where do these clothes get tailored?" Bai Chen asked the maid walking behind her.

"At Ben's Tailoring Service, Miss." The maid replied as they continued to walk, one behind the other.

"Alright. Do we need an appointment to go?"

"No, Miss."

"Then that's where we go first tomorrow!"

"I understand, Miss."
