Chapter 42 - Correctly Building a Class

In the previous timeline, I had foolishly waste Attributes Points (AP) on attributes other than Charisma, thinking that I might need higher Strength and Agility to survive the apparent Zombie Apocalypse.

Honestly, it was logical then as I have played a lot of RPG. Having higher Strength obviously allows me to deal more damage. Agility allows me to deal more damage frequently.

It is all about Damage Per Second (DPS).

But with what I know now about Class Built, doing that was actually incredibly stupid. As a Merchant, I am not a combatant but more like a negotiator. As such, I should only spend AP in raising the potency of my Merchant class and efficiency of its Skills and Abilities. And only the Charisma attribute does so.

Normal people usually have only 10 in Charisma, but I have 15, making me quite charismatic. Perhaps this is the reason that Alice is attracted to me. It is also the reason that others tend to believe me and listens to my order. Alex for example.

Charisma has nothing to do with my appearance, so it does not make me super handsome or anything.

At 15 Charisma, I was able to bargain with that Swamp Troll, so at 40 Charisma, I should be able to do a lot more. Like lying straight to its face, and it would have believed me for a time. That is the hidden power of having high Charisma. It is not the only hidden power.

Of course, exceedingly high Charisma has its drawback, but I should not be worrying about that right now. I should not be able to reach absurd level Charisma any time soon.

Even though I can probably negotiate with the roots blocking my path, I rather not. Not here, right in front of the entrance into my Establishment. That would be stupid. Therefore, I resort to using a bottle with sewage water.

It is effective, so there is no need to change method. Basically, the same as why fix what is not broken.

With just me, navigating the sewer is much faster, but unfortunately, I have to leave the safety of the sewer for the surface, as the sewer is not connected to other part of the city – the part that I need to get to.

Before I leave the sewer, however, I prepare a few more things, mainly my weapon. There are things that cannot be negotiated with, like mindless zombies since they are mindless. And as such, violent is the only solution. It is also good to have a proper melee and range weapon in hand.

My melee weapon is obviously the butcher knife on a stick. It is deadly and has good range. Of course, with blood essence, it is about to get deadlier and a lot more range. It is also better to have pure blood essence instead of pseudo blood essence, but beggar cannot be chooser.

After finishing inscribing several runes onto the blade as well as handle, I test them, channeling some of my mana into the weapon to activate the rune. The eerie crimson glow sends chill down my spine, and once I finish my test, I sell it to the Shop System before buying it back.

For my range weapon, I use the handgun for now. Alex has not given me any bullets on the fear of me going postal on everyone at school, but I do not need bullets when I have magic. Magic bullet, that is, and it is far more effective than normal bullets.

All of this is the basis of Enchantment, and only with Enchanted Weapons that humans really have the chance against the monsters beyond nightmares.
