Another bullet follows the first then another and another.
I continue to snipe the skeleton mage from the rooftop, and with each bullet hitting its mark, the fires around the undead monster weakens greatly until it dissipates completely, indicating to everyone that its health has reached critical level.
Just a few more bullets to deplete its health completely.
Once the fires within its eyes socket burn out, it collapses onto the ground in a pile of bones, not being able to cast a single spell during its brief existence. This is one way to take out mages. Kill them before they can cast their spell.
But even so, the incineration aura of the monster has managed to set almost around it alight.
Luckily for the group below, they are standing far enough away from the undead creature. All of them are currently unharmed by its incineration aura, and all of them are looking at me in bewilderment. It appears that they have not see much yet. This is the second day within the Life Zone after all.
I remain on the rooftop since it is safer despite wanting to go down and harvest that Death Crystal for my own benefits. It is fragmented due to the sniper bullets, but it is still good to me.
Without any undead monsters around, I have to find ways to create or summon them and then harvest their Death Crystal. Once I have at least one, I can buy more from the Shop System, as its hidden ability allows me to duplicate non-unique items for a price.
Death Crystals are found abundantly in places with a lot of deaths and decays. Using the Death Essence within those crystals to enchant weapons, allows those weapons to be highly effective against all living things, especially magical beings created by the Ruler of Life.
Since the Dungeon is smack in the middle of the Life Zone, I can assume that the boss within the Black Tower is one of her champions or close to it. Therefore, having Deathly Enchanted Weapons will allow me to have an edge.
"Standing in the open will only get you killed," I call out and left the ledge, as the loud cracking sound of the sniper rifle definitely invites a lot of troubles. Therefore, it is better to stay out of sight for now.
"Hey!" one of the men calls out before searching for a way to get to the rooftop. The others follow his lead, and they all managed to get onto the roof. "Are you from the army? Are you here to help us?"
I arch my brow at that. The army is probably trying to help, but they will not be able to penetrate the Zone with whatever weapons at their disposal. Even a nuke would not scratch the barrier let alone all other conventional weapons.
Instead of answering his question, I request some information. "May I see some identification please."
"Oh. Right. Sorry. Here," the man hands me his driver license, allowing me to learn his name, age and address. The others also hand me their identifications, and I learn all of their names as well.
Unfortunately, none of their names stand out, as they must have all perished the first time around. It is lucky of them to have run into me this time around, as they might not have to die horribly. That kind of depends on my mood though.
Should I or should I not help them survive? What is the correct thing to do?
