I have also enchanted my rather primitive home-made incendiary bomb. The explosive flames should be far more intense now, but that is not because the flame itself burns hotter or anything or the sort.
Without a high-grade Fire Essence, I cannot really make the flames burn hotter, and I just do not have the tools or the means to produce liquify Fire Essence of that grade. Despite spending the entire night on purifying the Life Essence, it is not even considered a low-grade.
Magical ingredients require enchanted tools and equipment. More or less the same with science, as a mathematical problem requires mathematical solution.
Anyway, like all the other items I produce or procure, I sell the bomb to the Shop System before buying it back to stash into my Inventory. Buying it back several times too just in case. Since the bomb is very primitive, it doesn't really cost me much GP.
Its effectiveness as an area-of-effect weapon, however, is still a question.
From experience, I know for sure that the bomb will be very effective against Zombies, but sadly, there are no Zombies within the Life Zone. There might be something similar to Zombies though. Maybe.
Once everything is ready, I climb the rusted iron ladder slowly and carefully, and when I reach the top, I push the manhole lid upwards and peek through, seeing a lot of greenery. A lot of suspicious greenery where there should not be any. Like concrete, for example.
It has only been more than a day, and the trees and foliage throughout the city have decided that they have enough of their human masters and start a bloody uprising. Just kidding, but it is what it is. Thanks to the abundant of Life Essence permutating the air and ground, Mother Nature has become a bitch.
A real hardcore bitch.
Good thing I am prepared for her. Nothing beats a good bushfire to get her attention. It will also help me acquire some good grade Fire Stones too. But before that, I need a way to protect myself.
While I cannot see it with the naked eyes, I am sure there are deadly spores floating in the air. A little will not harm anyone, but too much of it and it is a trip to the afterlife, leaving behind nutrients for the plants and trees to make use of.
Just like in the Happening. Terrible movie though, but the concept is the same. Times a million.
Closing the manhole, I take out a piece of cloth and make it into make-shift face mask. Damping it with a bit of water to prevent the spores from passing through unhindered. It will not stop me from inhaling the spores, but any amount helps until I get proper gasmask.
I pull myself out of the sewer afterwards and navigate through the empty street and road at sneaking speed while hugging the walls and alley ways. Just keeping out of sight and mind.
There are bloods all over the place, telling me plenty of stories. There are also bones with deep teeth marks on them, telling me different kind of stories. A more horrifying one. Quite a lot of people must have been killed yesterday, as they have no idea what was happening.
Those that survive has to wise up or repeat the first day. Well, if they do not, good for me. A very good thing, as I am selling everything that I manage to get my hand on.
The dead do not need materialistic things, and I am just helping them getting rid of it. Hahaha!
