As I walk back in I notice three things. One. Randolph and Ramona aren't at their table anymore. Two. They are now sat at mine and Sebastian's table. Three. Sebastian was arguing with them.
"Seby." I say acutely, while sitting next to Randolph, as Ramona had seated herself next to Sebastian.
He flinches before he start blabbing. "They are saying we are wolves and we're their mates."
"They're telling the truth. That's why Harry called."
"Who the hell is Harry?" Randolph snarls.
"Our uncle." I reply calmly.
"How can you buy this bullshit?"
"It all adds up." I say coldly.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"It means we don't have ADHD. It means when we had agility tests and succeeded, it's because we're wolves. It means we aren't freaks. It means we belong somewhere."
"Oh." Sebastian says his face paled. He then turns to Randolph and Ramona. "I'm so sorry for being rude to you."
"It's fine, but go back to the ADHD thing." Randolph says.
When Sebastian looks at me I take it as my cue to start.
"When we were four our preschool teacher told our parents to take us to get checked for ADHD I guess the teacher was a human, otherwise they wouldn't have took us to get diagnosed. It started as a liquid medicine, then progressed to a tablet. At thirteen we stopped taking the tablets, because it was like we were zombies." I explain.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that." Randolph says sincerely. When I met his gaze I saw he was saddened and angered by the thought that I had been hurt.
"It's not your fault." I whisper to him.
"Hold on a minute. What about the fact that they are supposed to be our targets?" Sebastian asks as if he's just remembered why we were sent here.
"Harry said it was up to is what we choose to do now that we know who we are. I've already made my decision."
"What does he mean, 'targets'?" Ramona speaks for the first time.
"Your turn to talk." I say to Sebastian.
"We're assassins. We started our training at eight, two years after our parents were murdered in front of Beth's eyes. Then when we turned twelve we got our first set of targets. Xavier Davis and Margot Walter. We completed all our missions with flying colours until we were in Rome a year later. I missed my target, as did Bethany. We were in surgery for sixteen hours combined. Beth had it worse. She typically uses close range weapons, machetes and daggers. Where as, I use long range weapons, such as guns." He then draws to a close.
"What did you decide to do and how?" Ramona asks me.
"I will not follow through with the mission. I don't know how I decided." I reply simply.
"It was the mate bond." I hear Randolph say.
That was the end of the conversation. Until five minutes later when Randolph and Ramona shared a look as they both realised we didn't ask about them.
"We get a file that tells us about our targets. Therefore we already know everything about you." Sebastian says as he caught the look too.
"Okay tell me about myself." Randolph challenges us.
"Easy." I say. "Canis lupis. Alpha of Golden Moon pack. And you have a younger sister who is five years old."
Randolph says nothing stunned that I knew that much about him.
"What about me?" Ramona asks me.
"You're Sebastian's target not mine, ask him." I say.
"Canis lupis. Beautiful. And mine." Sebastian says into her ear. Which causes her to blush.
"Eww. I don't need to know how you flirt, little bro." I snicker.
"I'm not so little anymore, sis." Sebastian replies.
"The evidence proves wrong. You do remember when I walked in on you, right?" I manage to say before bursting out in laughter.
"Hardy, har, har. Very funny. Am I ever gonna hear the end of it?" He asks unamused.
"Nope." I say cheerfully popping the 'p'.
