Tim is exhausted, he spent hours waiting for early morning flight at the Taoyuan Airport. It was just a one and half hour flight, but it felt like he went to the other side of the world. Upon reaching his apartment at The Peak, he laid down on his bed still wearing the same clothes from yesterday. He wanted to drink but he is too tired to move. Emotionally he is drained, he wanted to sleep but his mind kept on wandering recalling what went wrong.
'Dammit!' He can only curse himself.
Back in Taipei, the sleepless night caused Lissy to have panda eyes. She barely slept. The turn of events is totally unexpected. For the past two years she had always been pampered by Tim. She never chased after him. Despite the supposed better option, it cannot be denied that she spent a good 2 years with Tim. In fact, she even went to the extent of giving him her first.
She took a bath and stared at the mirror looking at her dark circles when the in-room phone rang. Its almost 11am this is likely Li Bin.
"Hello?"
"Hi Lissy! Do you have any plans for today?"
She does not feel like going out today after what happened however thinking about the opportunity to showcase her pitiful state could earn her further points from Li Bin. "Nothing planned…none." She made it a point to sound weary.
"Hey, is there anything wrong? You sounded so down."
She did not answer. You know how you tend to cry when someone ask you how you right at a timing when you are feeling terrible, the soft sobs were real, and it came out naturally.
"Are you crying? Why are you crying?"
This even heightened Lissy's emotion. She was pondering of the two years she spent knowing Tim, Li Bin's questions got her emotions to burn. Her tears are now running wild the soft sobs became louder.
"Lissy I wanted to see you now. I am heading your room." Li Bin hung up.
In less a minute, Lissy could hear the room doorbell. 'Did he use floo powder?' She was only wearing a robe. She immediately took one set of pajamas and out it on. The doorbell did not stop from ringing. When she opened the door, she looked so messed up. She was just wearing pajamas without any make up and her hair still wet.
She was shocked when Li Bin hugged her tightly. It rendered her motionless. Tear began to fell on queue. The warmth of the hug and the fresh manly scent filled her heart. Li Bin did not release her from the hug, she was stiff as a log allowing the man to lead her inside.
"What happened?" He soft whispered in her ears.
Lissy continued to cry just letting Li Bin hug her. She does not want to talk yet. In her head she is trying to figure out what to say and how to package the situation. Sensing the strong concern of his voice, she does not need to try hard.
After a few minutes of sobbing, Li Bin's shirt started to feel wet. He let Lissy sit on the couch and took the box of tissue from the bed's side table. Lissy looked pitiful, he knelt in front of her afraid that she will hurt her neck looking up to him. Despite such position, Lissy's eye level barely reached his neck. He gently wiped her face.
"Stop crying now, tell me what happened?"
Lissy moved her head sideways slowly.
"What does that mean? Obviously, something is wrong. Don't you want to tell me about it. I am here to listen. It breaks my hear to see you cry."
Hearing this fueled Lissy's emotion, the tears were rushing down her face. She initiated to hug Li Bin. She needed to be a 100% damsel in distress. This sent butterflies in Li Bin's stomach. Even if Lissy was crying, the mere fact that she hugged her felt good. It made him feel the need to protect her at that moment.
"Okay you can go on and cry your heart out, when you are ready to talk, I will listen. I am here." Li Bin patted her back as he said this line. Lissy felt relieved hearing this. It will give her time to think further. At this point she can gauge where she is in his heart. This is the redeeming moment from the fleeting sadness brought by breaking the engagement.
Late that night, Tim's stomach waked him up. He did not have any meals since yesterday's breakfast. He realized that he has not changed his clothes. He felt disgusted with himself wearing the same clothes and underwear for more than 24 hours. He decided to ignore his hunger and took a warm bath to freshen up.
Changing into sweatpants and plain white shirt he took his phone, he opened it up. Several messages came in. There was also a notification of missed call from Lissy. He scrolled on the chat app nothing from Lissy though. Message were from office and Mark. He dialed Mark's number.
"Dude where are you?"
"Fuck you! Should I be asking you that question? You were ignoring my messages since yesterday."
"Are you my wife? Shut the fuck up! Come over and bring me dinner. If you still have a bottle of Hibiki bring it over."
"I get it! Will be there in while." Mark can sense there was something major that happened. Aside from the feed he got from X, Tim asking for a bottle of Hibiki means the night will be long.
Mark rolled out of the bed in a snap.
"Are you going to Tim's?" Jenna asked just turning her head as she looked at Mark's nakedness looking for clothes to change. They just had a round of steamy exercise. This is a blessing; she cannot afford a round 2 as she needs to accompany Pam tomorrow.
"Yeah…I thought we could go for next round." Mark in a jiffy had his khaki shorts and navy-blue polo. "I'd be super late. Go to sleep, sorry you had to miss round 2."
"Yeah yeah too bad." She was actually sarcastic when she said this.
"I can actually stay for few more minutes." He moved towards Jenna from the other side of the bed.
"Stop! I am just kidding; my pelvic bones are falling apart. Take care babe." She sat and kissed Mark.
He kissed her back passionately and even squeezed one of her breasts before leaving. He then moved away before Jenna complains.
