Chapter 17 - Goblin Village

After relishing on their outer appearances for a moment Joshua realizes that the two creature look familiar.

'Aren't those goblins from fantasy games and manga?' Now that he looked at them more, the more they resembled the creatures of fantasy.

'I'll just call them goblins and the pig things pigmen I guess.' After deciding on their names Joshua watches to get a better picture on the situation.

'The Gobs are so getting wrecked. Should I save them? I mean they look to be the victims, but is that really I viable reason for me to interfere?'

'They are weak...' Joshua noticed ', but maybe they can become strong.' Joshua noticed a few brave ones out of the bunch.

Joshua remembers many novels and mangas where the MC reincarnated into a goblin and became powerful.

After looking all of the participants in this massive brawl, Josh noticed that they were all 1-2 star creatures with 3 star life forms as the leaders of their groups.

The Pigmen side had two 3 star leaders being at an obvious advantage compared to the goblin group that only had one.

Joshua assumes that the two leaders in the Pigmen side were a couple as one looked for burly while the other looked more feminine(?).

If that made any sense. It's not like Joshua knew Pigman anatomy so he just based it on their physical appearances.

'I would definitely get loads of achievements if I help get rid of the Pigmen... Additionally even though they have 3 star life forms they are most definitely still only tier 2. A bit weaker than myself even, if I do say so myself.

Though Josh's thoughts of saving the Goblins wasn't exactly due to his pure chivalrous spirit, but do to a much simpler desire.

'I might be able to get a [hero] title if I save them.' Joshua smiles a smile filled with desire.

With that in mind Joshua sneaks around the to the back near the Pigmen leaders to try to ambush them. He also used his Language Understanding skill while he was at it.

"Go kill them! Loot these pathetic fools and we will feast tonight!" Joshua could hear one of the Pigmen leaders rallying his men to boost the already high morale.

"RAAGHHH!" There was an exceedingly positive response to what Joshua thought was a lame excuse for a speech, not that he could do any better.

The Pigmen had bloodshot eyes and savage grins on their faces as they charges wildly to ravage the practically helpless goblins.

"Fight or else we'll all die" The goblin leader also tries to rally his men, but the result was less than satisfactory. "I-I d-don't want to die!! Hiiii!"

The goblins turned cowards and many retreated with the intention to escape the village with their lives. Except for a few brave ones that stayed maybe due to having family that couldn't escape, but who knows.

"Cowards!" The goblin leader scowls angrily, but doesn't have the leisure to mind them as he was being swarmed by the bloodthirsty Pigmen.

Joshua seeing that the goblins would not last much longer decides to act. Using a bit of light elements to strengthen his body he leaps at one of the Pigmen leaders not using his shroud skill immediately.

"Huh?" The Pigman notices and looks at the wolf leaping torwards it, but suddenly the wolf disappears. The Pigman thought it was hallucinating until it felt a sharp pain in its eyes.

If chaotic battlefield caused the Pigman to overlook the outline of the wolf and cost it dearly.

Joshua had targeted its eyes like what he did with the boar, only this time he was able to get rid of both eyes instead of one.

"GRAAAH"

Having lost its sight the Pigman screams and panics swinging a club that it was holding in its hands wildly, but Joshua had already retreated back into the forestry after succeeding his ambush.

It's wild swings only hit the other Pigmen in the area causing for more chaos in the already chaotic battlefield.

The other Pigmen and goblins were attracted to the chaos and looked over to see the blind Pigman leader screaming and beating his own men.

The other Pigman leader looks at his parter only to see her injured and blind.

"WHO?!" In this savage world, unless you had a way to heal your eyes then being blind is akin to being crippled.

The Pigmen snapped out of their bloodlust calming down their blind leader and looks around warily at the surrounding forest.

The goblins were also looking around curiously because last time they checked they had no allies.

Some goblins were even looking to their leader for answers to see if he knew the mysterious helper, but he just shakes his head leavening them more baffled than anything.

At this point the battle between the Pigmen and goblins came to an awkward halt. Each side did not dare to start the fight again.

The goblins for fear of being massacred by the Pigmen while the pigmen feared the unknown danger lurking nearby.

The unharmed Pigman leader approaches his bling spouse to question what attacked her when he heard a cry from one of his men.

"Griiii..."

"What happened?!"

The leader asked. He looks around to find one of his men missing. The other Pigmen in the area didn't even see it happen. They only heard the scream and when they turned around to their comrade, he was gone.

The Pigmen were now in pandemonium some even scrambling away from fear. It's as they say the scariest thing is the unknown.

The goblins used this chance to gather themselves and slowly retreated back to the village with only the leader standing at the gate of the village to watch the drama unfold.

"GET BACK! Calm Down!" The male leader tries to calm his men, but fails to gain any desirable result as some had already fled.

They could even hear the tragic cries of some of the Pigmen that fled which only acted to amplify their fear.

In the cover of the forest a large white wolf covered in blood could be seen with a wicked grin on its face.

'Oh... how I love these mind games...'
