Chapter 24 - Deserted Life

"Elizabeth?!" Aaron called out her name when she didn't answer to his question.

"I'm tired," she answered in a pale voice and saw Aaron nod.

As they walked towards the building, Elizabeth saw few men coming towards them. By their attire Elizabeth understood that, they were the hotel staff members. The hotel manager, who stood at the principal door, had a bright smile on his face compared to other men. He came a step forward to greet the couple with a bouquet of flowers.

"Good Evening, Mr. Winchester, Mrs. Winchester," the manager greeted them with a short bow.

" I am the manager of this resort, I hope you enjoy your stay here, Sir," the man said.

"Thank you. Which room?!" Aaron asked the manager keeping the conversation short.

"Kindly follow me," the manager replied politely. After calling the bell boy to take their luggage, the manager guided them, to their room. After the manager left, the bell boy received tip from Aaron before leaving the room. There was no need for Aaron to talk to the receptionist or any other person because the hotel staff were aware of his arrival and arranged everything for him as they were instructed by the owner of Oasis.

Elizabeth looked around the luxurious room which had high class facilities. She could tell that it was a VIP room. The room was neat and bright with well carved furniture. She made her way to the corridor to see the roaring waves but could not see the view clearly because it was dark. She cocked her head to see Aaron busy on his phone. She wondered why he even brought her here when he kept himself busy with his phone. But when she heard him thanking someone on the phone and when he said, he was glad about the unexpected meeting, Elizabeth understood that, Aaron was speaking to the man whom they met a while ago, whose name was Austin Ames.

"I don't like you talking to that guy, Lizzy," he retorted.

"But he is our senior and my home tutor," the young girl replied innocently.

"I will teach you from now,"

"But... Isn't he your cousin?"

"I don't care if he is my cousin. I don't like it when any guy tries to approach the girl I love."

The guy blurted out. The girl who heard his words felt her heart drop a beat. She never thought that he liked her too.

"You… You…"

"You heard it right, Lizzy," he said without hiding around the bushes.

"How could you say like that," She tried to hide her blush.

"How was I supposed to say then?" a tiny smile escaped from his lips to see her look away from him out of embarrassment. "I want to listen to your reply, Lizzy."

"I can't tell those words," the girl tried to hide her face from him.

"If you can't by words, how about actions?!" he said with a grin.

"You're so bad, Aaron." Elizabeth tried to push him away but the guy got the hold of her hand; and pulled her closer to him.

"I know that you love me too, Lizzy."

"Why ask, when you know my answer," Elizabeth tried to release herself by putting a very little effort.

"Because I want you to tell me your answer," he said.

"I cannot say right now,"

"And I cannot leave your hand until you tell me." After pausing for few seconds, he then added by saying, "I'll make it easy for you."

Elizabeth looked at his eyes when she heard him say.

"I..."

With his gaze fixed at her. Elizabeth, who understood who he wanted her to do, repeated after him

"I..." Elizabeth said in a low voice as a faint blush appeared on her face.

"Love," he continued to say.

"Love."

"You."

"You."

Her words came out in whisper making his lips quirk up into a smile. Aaron bent a little, to plant a kiss on her cheeks to see her look at him, startled.

Elizabeth sighed, thinking about the time when they were in school. Those were the days when she had the best time with him. Days which cannot be forgotten and days she lived her life to the fullest. Her parents were not yet divorced at that time. They were alive too. She had everything a girl of her age needed.

Elizabeth then looked at the opposite building where she caught the sight of the halo lights.

"OASIS!!" Elizabeth read the word on the building. "Wish I could find an Oasis in my deserted life too," she sighed heavily.

After standing in cold weather for more than an hour, Elizabeth had her dinner with Aaron after taking shower and then went to bed as she had nothing else to do.

The next day, when the sun rays passed through the glass door, Elizabeth opened her eyes groggily to see the man sitting opposite to her.

"What time is it?" she asked her husband who was reading the newspaper at that time.

"Half past eight," he replied in nonchalance, flipping the pages of the newspaper.

"Oh!" Was her reply when her messy hair was being tied into a bun.

"What do you want to have for your breakfast?" she heard him ask her.

"Bread and Omelette," she replied pushing her blanket aside and then went to the washroom.
