Chapter 29 - Grandpa's birthday (part 1)

"Elza, even  if you feel that your mother was forced to kill Margaret, you cannot change the fact that she killed a person. By the information you gave me, your mother and the lady named Margaret are friends. Other than the  lady's name, we know nothing about her. First we need to find the prosecutor who dealt with the case and then gather information about Margaret Winds." Liam's words echoed in Elizabeth's mind and they bid farewell to each other in the evening. Even after reaching home, she kept thinking about  the things Liam told her and didn't even notice that Aaron was in the bedroom.

"We have to leave early tomorrow," Aaron's voice broke her thoughts. Elizabeth raised her head and looked at Aaron with a blank expression. "Don't tell me that  you forgot, it's grandpa's birthday tomorrow," he said. Elizabeth almost forgot about the event which was taking place the very next day. Micheal Winchester was turning seventy five years and the Winchester's had invited many   people to be a part of their celebration.

"Get ready by seven  in the evening and I'll pick you up," he added and looked at her when she wasn't answering or reacting.

"Is something bothering you?" Aaron noticed her silence and wanted to know if she was fine. At first, he  wanted to ignore her but he couldn't.

"What?! No... Nothing,"  replied Elizabeth as she shook her head. Aaron went to the bed without saying another word which made Elizabeth fall in a state of confusion. One side, she was unable to solve  her mother's case and on the other side, there's the man she loves who is not ready to solve their misunderstandings. Elizabeth didn't know what has she done that she was being punished  in this way.

The next day in the evening, Elizabeth reached home early and after she was ready, Aaron picked her up. "I want you to act like you love me in front of grandfather," he said after she got into the car.

"I guess you will have to act. There is no need for me to  do it," she retorted. "Because I do love you, Aaron," turning away her head, she said in her mind. Aaron had a glance at her before he shifted his gaze onto the road. "You will see it," he said with a smirk but Elizabeth chose to be silent.

As soon as they reached  the Mansion, they went straight to meet Aaron's grandfather, to wish him.

"I'm glad that you both  managed to come early. I know it must be tiring for you both..."

"It was not tiring, grandpa," Elizabeth said politely. Micheal was happy to see  his grandson with his granddaughter-in-law. Aaron received a call and went out of the room. "Did he spare some time with you or did he keep himself busy with his work?" Micheal  asked her with curiosity. Elizabeth took few seconds to understand that the old man was talking about their honeymoon. "I did have fun," she replied. "Glad to hear," he said when a maid came into the room after knocking the door with a tray in her hand. The maid  came and stood a little away from where they stood. Micheal took a glass of juice and gave it to Elizabeth. "Take it," Micheal said but before Elizabeth could have a sip, Aaron took the glass from her and emptied the glass.

"You brat, if you wanted, you could've taken another glass. Don't you have manners?!" Micheal scolded Aaron while he was still on the phone and then apologized to Elizabeth for his grandson's behaviour. " Sometimes he behaves like a child. I don't know what has gotten into him. He hates pommogranate and yet he took it from you and emptied it." Elizabeth heard Michael's words and looked at her husband who was busy with his phone standing  in the corridor. After talking to Michael for more than an hour , the couple left the room for him to get ready.

"Thankyou," she said and waited for him to reply. Even though Aaron didn't reply and walked past, she felt happy.  Elizabeth didn't observe that the Juice which Micheal gave her was Pomegranate. She was allergic to it. The thought of him helping her to avoid drinking the juice made her smile  but it didn't last for too long when she saw his back disappear from her sight. Elizabeth sighed heavily and thought that she was expecting too much from him and went to the hall.

"Elza?!" she heard a voice from behind and turned back. "Rosie!!" she said with excitement. Elizabeth's face brightened to see her sister. She hugged her sister and stayed in that position for few seconds. "How are you?" Roseline asked her sister.

"I'm good. What about you?"

"I'm fine," Roseline said with a smile on her face.

"Oh my... Little sister. Is that how you greet your sister when you  meet her after so long?" Elizabeth said to Roseline when she saw her sister's eyes filled with water.

"What to do. I missed you a lot," Roseline answered.

"Did something happen to you ?" Elizabeth's question made her speechless.

"What makes you ask that question?" she faked a small laugh.

"I don't know," Elizabeth replied. "I just felt something was off with you," She added.

"You are thinking too much, Elza," Roseline said.

"Where is aunt and uncle?" Elizabeth asked.

"They are talking to someone, in the backyard," answered Roseline.

"Then what are you doing in the hall?" Elizabeth asked her, "Were you searching for me?"

Roseline didn't give her any answer but only noded to her sister's words but the truth was, she was searching for Ryan to talk to him.

"Let's go out," Elizabeth held her sister's hand.

"Elza, I need to go to the washroom. Could you please tell me the way?!"

"Come, I'll show you," Elizabeth said.

"No. I will go alone," Roseline said and after Elizabeth told her the way to the washroom and left, she went to another side.
