Stretching and arching my back until I was satisfied. My mind was humming with energies I was unfamiliar with. It was distracting me from the task at hand . The plan was to gather my clothes and maybe some food . Leave early in the day before he started what I would call the golden man's walk of zen. He would dissapear in the afternoon and come back in a good mood so much so he almost said two words to me before he thought better of it .
Glancing about there wasnt much but one of the energies was pulling me to his pile of furs . Nervously I walked over licking my dry lips . My fingers caressed the blankets. Under the rolled up fur I noticed a lump and gently lifted the blanket aside . A small box lay with some green etching. Sliding the lid open a rolled up paper and small jade stone lay inside. Glancing about and closing my eyes I held the box in my mind and my hands . Like a flood ,memories sifted through me.
A blond woman smiling at him curled up against his chest laughing as he whispered in another language to her. Flashes of a foreign land and a bar. It felt so familiar like it belonged to me . Another flash of two girls running through a field with a large dog . Laughing as another man with dark hair chased them . It brought tears and emotions I couldn't explain. There was no time I slammed the lid shut and slipped it into my pocket . Another thing i had to figure out .
I grabbed my boots by the door quickly loosened the laces and slid them on. Scanning the table I saw the half loaf of bread and snatched it on my way out.
Outside it was a warm and the breeze was gently tossing the trees. Focusing my thoughts I let my mind drift to sense any presence that I may have missed. Quiet and the gentle greens and yellow from the woods flowing in my veins. Relaxed I opened my eyes and focused on the moment at hand. Whispers drawing me toward a journey that would hopefully change my fates.
