The training room was far bigger then I had anticipated. And its location was just as surprising. The stone steps that were hidden behind a secret door had been worn down, clearly well used. They curved slightly before pulling their curtains of stones to the sides to show off the room. It was at least the size of 10 football fields and about as tall as the empire state building.
"No wonder...those were....such long...stairs.." I panted softly. Apophis glanced at me, a grin spreading. He hadn't even broken a sweat.
"Think of it as a warm up." He turned to look at me and walked backwards until there was about ten meters between us. "First up, combat. Do you know how to punch?"
I stared at him, "yes.." I forced myself to remember the first person I had ever punched. It was at least three years ago, the girls name was....Emily..? Yeah..That's it. She kept trying to claim my work as her own, telling me that it wasn't like I was gonna do anything because her father was rich, AND was the principle. Boy was she wrong...I did get expelled, but it did make me feel good to know they spent a few hundred dollars just to fix her nose. But even so, that was so long ago. All I had wanted was to graduate and leave.
"Then punch me." I looked up at Apophis realizing I had zoned out.
"What?"
"I said punch me." He held out his arms a little, exposing his chest to me. "It's not that hard. Just punch me."
"No, I am not going to punch you.." I looked away, my gaze looking over the stone walls that glared at me against the pale dirt under my feet. I gave a small kick to the ground, a cloud of tan floating away as if it were in pain. I looked up at the glaring ball of light that acted like the sun, its gaze coating everything in its soft golden glow.
"Why not?" I looked back at Apophis, his eyes watching me as he moved closer.
"Because there is no reason to...?" I said slowly, my expression turning grim as he moved closer. I looked away again, the hot breath of him hitting my face as he moved in front of me.
"Why not?" He asked again. His eyes seemed to glow as he stared into mine, hot lava churning in my stomach as I glared.
I whispered softly but harshly, "there is no reason to.."
He smirked, his steps backing up a step before looking me up and down. My heart started to race, adrenaline screaming at me to just run. I narrowed my eyes at him, no way would I let him see me be terrified of him. "Should I give you a reason?" He asked slowly, his voice drawling over each word.
"Stop.." I said, my voice cracking slightly as I watched his eyes darken, his body seeming to send pulses of fear into me. "Stop it.."
"Ssssstop what?" His eyes becoming slits as a forked tongue flicked out slightly as he took a step forward, my body automatically taking a step back. "I am not doing anything..yet."
I couldn't help it, I turned and ran, adrenaline forcing me towards the steps. I felt it before I even knew what it was, the ground catching my fall as I gasped for air. My side stinging from the sudden hit. I looked at Apophis, the only familiar thing was the ice blue eyes as they stared at me; circled with Golden scales that were surrounded in black. I looked over his body, The black scales being disrupted by gold as if it were the night sky. I met those eyes again, his tongue flicking as he narrowed his eyes.
"Stop!" I stumbled to a stance as I yelled at him. "what is wrong with you?! Stop it!" My heart was racing, his tail whipping around; giving me only a few seconds to duck. "Apophis!!"
"Your brought it on yourssself. You should have just punched me." My head pounded as his voice sliced through my mind. I stood slowly, my vision glancing at him before turning towards the stairs again. "Ssstop trying to esscape, Kasseeyy!!" I yelped as his body slithered past me, his head slithering around me as he curled me into his grasp.
"Let go!!! Let me go!!" My hands did nothing to his scales as he tightened around me, I squirmed, slowly getting one arm free before feeling his snare tightening. I looked up at him snarling, "I said let me go!!" His head was bigger than the size of my torso, his tongue flicking out slightly as his icy gaze looked me over.
"I don't think I will." I could almost see his smile as he watched me squirm again. "You will be sstuck right here with me until you can ssstop me."
"I can't stop you!! You're huge!!"
His chuckled vibrated around me, his breath hitting my face, "That's what ssshe said~"
"Apophis!!!" I growled, his amusement making my blood boil.
"She ssssaid that too."
"You're disgusting."
"No, I am Apophissss, you dumb human." His grin was mocking as his sarcasm swelled.
"I swear....." I shook my head, turning my head away as I huffed in annoyance. "I'm going to murder you."
"How? By running away like the sssick little child you are?" I snapped my gaze back to him. "By being helplesssss and pathetic?"
"Stop it." I dug my nails into my palms as I clenched my teeth, the fuse heating up inside me.
"I am just assssking how you, a ssstupid weakling was going to beat an Egyptian god."
"I said stop it!!" The hot pink fire came from nowhere, his body suddenly letting me go as he hissed in pain. I fell to my knees as I looked at my hands, the burning pink fire fading from my fingers.
"Good job." I looked up at Apophis, half his face was burning.
"I...I'm so sorry.." I stuttered.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." He smiled, steam suddenly rising from the burn, his flesh bubbling slightly around its edges, slowly healing the wound. I gaped at him. "See? All better!"
"How did....How did you....?" I slowly stood, my knees buckling slightly before finding their ground. I stepped forward without thinking and ran my fingertips over the healed skin. It was completely gone.
"I'm a demon, remember?" He said it gently, his blue gaze holding a pit of sorrow behind it's bright color. His hand gently grabbed my wrist, pulling my hand away from his cheek slowly. I blushed and pulled my hand back as he let me go. My gaze falling down to the ground.
"Sorry.." He didn't reply, only silence followed as the word danced above us. I finally looked up at him, his gaze already pinned on me. His eyes met mine before they switched over to the wall.
"Are you ready to go again?"
"You still want me to punch you?" My voice sounded a little bitter as I stared at Apophis, his smile my only answer. Sighing, I gave in, "Fine.."
"Good girl!" He grinned cheerfully at me, his hand patting my head before taking a step back.
"I'm not a dog." I glared at him.
"Right, sorry. You're a pussy."
I grabbed the nearest rock and chunked it at him, barely missing his head.
"I said punching not throwing!" He dodged my next one as I looked around for a third. "Should I teach you how to listen too??"
"Shut up!" I yelled, the third rock leaving my hand quicker than I had anticipated. Apophis yelped as it hit his forehead. He hand instantly rubbing on the spot.
"What the...." I stared at him in shock, his face reflecting mine. He frowned at me, "you have some serious anger issues."
I scavenged for the next rock.
