Lilia opened her eyes. Rays of sunshine illuminated her face. She stretched. The sheets surrounding her made her feel like she was in heaven. She could lay down for a few more minutes.
Lilia began to think about her plans for the day. She remembered she had to get groceries before her parents returned. She threw a big party and knew they would stroke out once they realized all the snacks disappeared.
She rolled once more and felt a slight pain in her chest.
A memory came to her. She was stabbed to death. Her eyes flew open. She looked around where she was.
It was the bedroom from her teenage years. Everything was the same from her memory. But what was she doing here?
She listened for movement but there was dead silence. There was no sound of energy running. She quickly rolled out of bed. She was dressed in a simple jean shorts and a blue tank top, her dressing style when she was younger.
She looked in the mirror. Her hair was cut short and tapered and curled just below her ears. She wrote of medium sized gold hoop earrings- something she hadn't seen in a while.
Lilia checked out herself. Her body had no signs of scars from the rough life she lived. Her body didn't have any of muscles she had developed. She was at the epitome of her youth.
A thrill ran through her heart. What was happening?
She examined her chest and stomach. There was no sign of her being stabbed. Most importantly, there was no visible sign of pregnancy. Her baby was gone.
What happened to her?
She looked at the room. Pictures of her dead friends and family members hung on the wall. They were things that didn't belong to the world anymore. They had all been destroyed. These pictures had even faded from her memories.
She picked up the frames and looked at them for any visible signs of flaws and imperfection but she didn't know what to look for. So many years had passed since she could she these familiar faces that resemble hers.
Pain stabbed at her heart and she replaced them. There were so many nights when she dreamed of these faces but they disappeared when she awoke.
Lilia walked to the door and opened it. It creaked like it used to. She took a step into the hallway. There were three other rooms. One for her parents and the other would have been for her siblings.
She tried the doors. None opened. They were always open from what she could remember. She looked to the living room but noticed an extra room door. A fifth door.
There was never seen extra bedroom door in the hallway. What this some form of simulation?
She walked over and cautiously tried the locks. It was open.
Wham!
Lilia jumped back from the door. It seemed as if someone closed the front door.
She released the current lock and ran to the living room. It was undisturbed.
There was no one there. She went to the front door and opened it.
Whoosh
A strong breeze pushed her almost back inside. Her eyes watered and her nose burned. She felt cold. She quickly closed her eyes to protect herself.
She prepared herself to look by blinking before focusing her eyes. Her heart dropped.
There was no sunlight. She was standing before a chasm that illuminated all. She took a step back.
She didn't know what dream this was but it wasn't funny.
A bewitching waterfall fell into a large water pool. But there was something wrong. Instead of water, there were millions of bright stars falling into the whirlpool.
They shimmered like diamonds of different shapes and colors.
There eased no roar like she'd expect from a fall. Instead there was only a powerful cool wind.
It's seemed to be a continuous flow stars. Where was this? The edge of the world? Her eyes must have been deceiving her.
She reached out to touch it if she could. What she was met with was an unexpected heat and a shock to her fingertips that went straight to her heart.
She quickly pulled away. This was too strange for her. What was happening? Was she dead or under a high class simulation?
If it was a simulation, do help her if it was Peter's doing when she woke up he'd bet not be dead.
But if this was death. What exactly was this? Was this heaven or hell? Where was the angels or demons to drag her off? She knew she wasn't the best person in life but she still had grievances. She should still on earth haunting Peter's every waking move. This is not how it's supposed to go down.
A swell of displeasure washed over her. She slammed the door shut. Whatever the situation was, she must figure a way out.
It was strange. All windows had golden sunlight flowing through but when she opened the door it was clear one was a mirage.
She walked to one living room window and tried to open it. It didn't budge. She banged but it only caused her pain and her hands to get bloody. She took a lamp off a stand and swung. Nothing broke.
She tried the other windows. It was the same result. They stayed the same clear picture.
She screamed in frustration.
There were trees, grass and fresh air but she could not test if they were real. They were taunting her.
She sighed and collapsed defeated on the ground. She threw the broken lamp away.
Was she supposed to be stuck on this house for eternity?
Never in her life had she felt so lost. When she was dying, her heart was not troubled.
She stood up and began to head back to her room. She saw the fifth door. She opened it. It was dark.
She pushed the door wide and reached for the light switch. The room didn't look like a bed room. There was only a marble slab large enough to hold a human body. Broken glass was shattered around it with water and water footprints leading all the way to the door.
Footprints?
