Over the next few weeks, things went according to plan but she never thought that pretending would be that hard. Well, there always a first in everything. She was very careful around Summer because you never know when bitchy Summer decides to strike. It could get ugly.
One sunny Sunday morning, Sapphire woke up and a wave of nausea hit her. She never thought much of it, but when that became the morning routine over the next two weeks, she began to worry.
Sapphire was a genius, literally, so it was not hard for her to figure out what her problem was, but she needed to make sure that her diagnosis was correct. Off to the nearest drug store she went, bought whatever she needed then headed back home. Her heart was literally in her throat when she read the test results. Positive. Positive. Positive. The eight letter word kept ringing repeatedly in her mind.
Pregnant.
Sapphire Rose, pregnant at barely eighteen years of age. She didn't know whether to be happy or sad, but one thing she was sure of was that her parents were going to end her if they were to ever find out. The worst part was that the father would definitely denounce the child. No questions asked, and with Summer out to get her, her days might as well be numbered.
All she had to do was be optimistic and keep the pregnancy a secret as long as she possibly can. Sapphire was already in love with the baby. She had to do whatever it takes to keep themselves safe.
While Sapphire was planning on her future, Summer and Hunter were planning her demise. "So, how is this going to work?" Hunter asked Summer.
"Well, i'm going to tell her that mom and dad asked her to clean the pool house for their important guest that will be staying over with his family." Summer replied smiling like a maniac which kind of started creeping out Hunter.
"Then what?" Hunter asked already annoyed.
"Boom!" Summer gestured.
Hunter stood there, mouth agape as if he couldn't believe what just came off the fucking maniacs mouth.
"What?" He yelled. "No no no no, that was not part of the plan. The fire does not and will not start when she's inside you psycho."
"Yeesh, calm your tits dude." Summer sighed. "I don't like Sapphire no scratch that I loath Sapphire, but her time to die has not come yet. I will make suffer first. Anyway the fire starts immediately she's out of the pool house."
Hunter released a breath he didn't know he was holding, "That's better." He said to no one in particular.
"Let's get this show on the road." Summer cheered gleefully.
Sapphire didn't even realise that she had fallen asleep on the bathroom floor. She woke up a shivering mess, and as if that was not enough Summer badged into her room.
"Can't a girl catch a break?" She asked herself.
"Hey freak, mommy and daddy thought it would be wonderful for you to clean up the pool for their guest by 5pm, so I would make it snappy if I were you."
Sapphire just stared at her blonde sister, wondering how her parents decided slave her around on a Sunday evening. "Why?" She asked quietly, barely a whisper.
"Because you have less than 30 minutes before 5 pm." Summer laughed. "Awww...I forgot to tell you sooner." She mockingly pouted and sashayed out of Sapphire's attic laughing obnoxiously.
Sapphire just rolled her eyes at her sister's retreating form and decided to head to the pool house. It was not her first time being ordered to clean the place for no reason. She doubted that her parents had guest stopping by.
Her mother was a nasty money hungry woman who would punish her for the smallest mistakes ever so she had no other choice. Sapphire cleaned the house in exactly 15 minutes. She even had a few minutes to spare to catch her breath judging by the her new condition, she realized she got tired faster than before. Sapphire placed the pregnancy at about four weeks.
Hunter and Summer were in the kitchen in a heavy make out session with hands all over each other. They might as well gone deaf because they did not hear Sapphire come in.
"Of course, manwhore Hunter is here no wonder I smelt a wet dog when I came down from my room." She thought.
"Ahem." Sapphire cleared her throat making the two jump from one another. Hunter even had the gut to look ashamed when he realized it was Sapphire. He never thought he would ever feel like he had cheated on her with Summer, but that was exactly what he felt at that moment. He opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of water.
Sapphire just watched him amused. She even couldn't believe she fell for his treachery. Her biggest mistake but she decided not to dwell in that it had already been done and there was nothing she could do about it.
"I'm done Summer." She told her as she took a bottle of water and headed to her room.
Hunter had his tough guy mask back when Summer turned to him. " Let's do this." She said excitedly. Hunter's steps flattered as his heart pounded. Alec was going to kill him if he ever found out.
"Come on Hunter, mom and dad are almost home." Hunter sighed and followed his to be wife with a heavy heart knowing that he would come to regret this.
Sapphire had just come out of the shower when she heard it, Summer scream. With her heart in her throat she quickly put her clothes on and went to see what was amiss
The first thing she saw was smoke coming from the pool house. "What's going on?" She asked no one in particular.
Hunter was busy trying to call the firefighters while Summer just glared at her.
"I told you to clean the place not set it on fire." Summer screeched. "Mom's Greek rug was in there and you know how she loves it even more than she's ever loved you, just wait till she gets home."
Sapphire was scared, she didn't know what to say but one thing for sure was that she did not mess with the gas supply. That's when it her, Summer's plan to ruin her was already in motion.
"Wow, this is classic and highly unexpected." She said to herself.
Sapphire stood there just looking at Summer thinking of all the things she might do or say if she opened her mouth.
