Chereads / The Unwilling Heir / Chapter 55 - Spirit Blood

Chapter 55 - Spirit Blood

In this castle, what isn't suspicious. There's nothing that's certain, but at the same time there is nothing that is impossible, it's basically living in a world of unknowns.

"In the throne room, "

"What was that about?"

The tigers questioned me, a hand on both of my shoulders with confusion in their eyes, not a hint of pity. Why? Probably because they've done it before as well, and know the conditions for stimulating such a state. I shrugged their hands off.

"It's fine, I'm fine. No need to revisit the past,"

My voice faded away at that last statement I made. Yes, no need to revisit the past, it's unneeded and wastes brain space.

"Anyway I asked the guard about his family background. He's answer was peculiar. He said, your quick."

I said in a whisper to the twins, hoping to kindle their curiosity to drive them away from the previous topic.

"That just means it's a secret,"

"Probably connects to this whole hell and heaven thing."

They replied, they went into a thinking state again and probably won't talk until they've reached a conclusion.

Eleanor came up behind me and spoke.

"The days when I believed myths were make believe, now I myself am classified as one."

"It's unbelievable, they basically crushed all our understandings of earth as we know it."

We continued to talk about that topic and the tigers were still thinking, Dominic looked like a confused mess and the pressure we all had on our shoulders was heavy to the point of being unbearable. The confusing thing is, this pressure comes from an unknown origin.

Currently we sat inside a white cream coloured room. Red curtains surrounded the room and their were giant windows which eh curtains partially covered. The windows framed individual sections of the front garden, fountains, hedges and greenery of exotic kinds.

The room itself was set out like stereotypical classroom. There were 6 sets of tables and chairs that were in 2 rows up front and a space at the back for who knows why. There was a teachers desk and a normal whiteboard with the standard things on it. Despite being stereotypical the whole room was spotless, not a speck of dust, the windows were clear and could be flawless mirrors and the all surfaces didn't even collect dust even after 5 minutes of being in the room.

Footsteps could be heard faintly coming in this direction and everyone paid more attention to their surrounds and less on what they were doing. But the balance was enough that it still looked like we were just doing what we were doing.

The door then opened and by that time everyone was already staring at it, waiting to find out who was going to enter the room.

She came in, this important person who everyone in the room recognised. She was none other then, Hu Shuzhen, the tigers mother. She is a world renowned teacher of all subjects and has many awards that her high IQ has given her.

"Good afternoon class, I will be your teacher for history. In case you didn't know I am Hu Shuzhen, but you will address me as Ms Hu. Are there any questions that need to be answered before we start the lesson?"

She paused and looked around at our plain faces before continuing.

"Good."

All she talked about this lesson were thinks Althgar already bombed us with, how the world is the living grey area of hell and heaven and how we are the result of the clash. I'm still no clear on what the clash in but I'm imagining it's some kind of war and the result casualties resulted in some desperate crossbreeding as a last resort not to go extinct even if they had to create hybrids. But that's just a theory, I didn't want to ask because I had a feeling I wouldn't get a straight answer out of our teacher here.

The then explained the creation of hierarchy, how the positions were first and still determined by the amount of active spirit blood you held.

Spirit blood is the magic you could call it, the magic in our bodies. As explained before the results of the clash one of three main outcomes. They cancel each other out creating a human, one is stronger then the other but the human body cannot hold the full strength of one and so a dormant is created, and the last result is an equal balance between the two powers, they keep each other in check while still remaining active creating a myth.

Now the relation between that and spirit blood is that the lower the amount the more average you are. Humans, most of the population, are maybe about 1% maybe less, dormants, most of the high class and upper middle class are about 25% spirit blood and myths are about 75% spirit blood.

That was the only knew thing. The other things she talked about were already revealed beforehand by Althgar.

We ended the lesson and Ms Hu sat down at her desk after dismissing us. We headed to the door in a blob and discussed with each other the new information. They make spirit blood sound so important and decided a whole hierarchy on it is pretty harsh. Why is it so important? Are their advantages to having more spirit blood? Then a memory popped up.

'Explode'

What did he mean by explode? Was it in literal or maybe he meant mentally or it could be internally. Whatever he meant he said it happens a teens and only to myths. It probably has something to do with a high percentage of spirit blood. Now thinking along that line is Dominic here because he possesses a high percentage of spirit blood compared to the rest of the high class heirs and enough to just classify as a myth. That's the most plausible thing I can think of. Shadow guards met us when we opened the door and lead us back to the room through the undergrowth. This time, they didn't lock the door but said we have 1 hour of free time before heading back to do the rest of our lessons. More time to cave in on myself with questions. Hurray...
