Chapter 18 - Ahim and Mystic Throne

He was not a human and the ground I was standing on was not real and it was firm enough to deceive me for reality. Prakash seemed so naturally human in that place. He was the most human, who accidentally landed there due to me. The guy in blinds introduced himself as the guard of the mighty Mystic throne.

"Allow me to exploit this occasion to introduce myself. Such an incident happens once in a century.", his voice had brushed against my ears as softly as a petal of a new bloom. "I go by the name 'Ahim'.", some people say 'it's a pleasure to meet you' with exactly not feeling the same, but something about his gesture completely conveyed his feelings. To put it short, he was appealing at the first meet.

"You might be where you are…", he slowly moved to Prakash and brought his face closer to Prakash, "In a delight… In such a delight, I am!"

He took my Right hand and Prakash's left, "Hmmm… Interesting!"

He strolled through the kids and reached a pot of plant, "No wonder the buds have bloomed earlier.", the pleasant scent around the place was enhanced a little by his touch. I could see everyone turning towards me when my thoughts had screamed, 'What is he?', including Prakash. Did he suddenly get to read other's minds?

'Yes, I hear your inner thoughts.'

'Who was that?', Prakash wasn't opening his mouth at all. Then who was it? My eyes almost fell out in surprise.

"Kids, this ain't a playground. You cannot lie here…", I was sure, he called us kids but he looked a lot younger. "Even your thoughts echo in here.", he once again paused by Prakash and said, "But I must say, I am impressed, Prakash. No human who accidentally ended up here has ever exhibited his ability to hear thoughts."

"Are you really not a human?", I took a step back, my guess was right, still, I couldn't believe what I was witnessing.

"This place isn't real either. You guessed it right. We are somewhere between the earth and the sky; somewhere in between the clouds and the space; we are somewhere between the humans and non-humans. The power you hold is a bit of me and make sure to wield your actual power, the kindness."

"What are you coming to say? Do you expect me to pay back in some way or another in exchange?"

"Ha Ha Ha! All I ask you is to utilize the bestowed wisely. Find your purpose."

"Why do I have to? I did not ask for it.", I shrugged.

"Are you sure?", he chuckled. "This young man over here.", he pointed out Prakash, my heart stopped for a fraction of a second. "Do you know want to know why he ended up here?", I was curious about it too. I thought it was because I wished to go to him against the pull. And ended up bringing him along. I told him my theory, to which he questioned me, "Do you think anyone can enter the Mystic Throne?"

"What do you mean by that?", Prakash spoke for the first time.

"You are the path.", the riddles in his speech had made me crazy, I rubbed my forehead.

"We are simple humans. Can you explain more?"

"Yes, Prakash! Do you know why my eyes are blinded?", Ahim asked. I wondered ever since we landed there, "It is a way to protect the pure souls on the earth. In order to watch over the whole world, I am bound to give up on the pleasures of the Mystic throne.", he flipped his hands, we saw the bits of his view for a few seconds. "I have been weak since my birth. My ancestors haven't needed the blind."

A street cat, he was thin and weak, searching for prey probably. He was dying in hunger. I saw his past and present. He hadn't harmed anyone in his previous life. His innocence filled our hearts yet the present made us so sad. When he was about to find food near the household he had crossed by, a car at high speed was about to hit him hard. Ahim moved his fingers, a school student in passing by the street had saved the cat, right on time. He even took him home and fed him good food.

"This is the kind of purpose the powers are handed over to you, Sita… and Prakash."

"Prakash?"

"Yes, this place is not reachable by anyone. If one has to travel, there should be a path for him to follow."
