Not long, they reached the chamber filled with tons of gold and magical items. Looking around, they found nothing that caught their interest. Everything is just gold and precious jewelries that they can have if they want to, therefore, none of those sparkling items express any value to them.
"What do you guys think I should get?" Mythica asked while placing a diamond tiara above her head
Although doubtful, hoping it would help, Yin suggested "I don't know, jewelries maybe? That's what you girls love right? What do you think Yang?"
"Whatever" Yang replied ignoring his brother
"It's true. But girls like me get tired of it if we realized we already own too much of it"
"These things aren't normal expensive items...!" Selle sounded aghast "It's all reinforced with magic, and a powerful one too!"
"Weird" Sora sighed
"Whether it is or not, it doesn't matter to us--" Kin said, but Yin cut through his words, sounding horrified
"Actually, it does"
Everyone turned to him and he lifted his gaze. Bewilderment and disbelief showed in his face
"Look at what you guys are holding right now"
Just as he said it, they immediately looked at their hands only to be surprised by the jewelries they are holding. Mythica was holding a diamond tiara before, but when she looked at it, she found it changing, turning into a harp that was designed perfectly for her, still made from diamond.
Yin and Yang's butterfly shaped brooch became scepters. Yin's was emitting bright light and are surrounded with white butterflies, while Yang's was totally dark and was also surrounded with black butterflies. It was made perfectly for the two of them as well and are same in design.
Airi's rose shape pendant became a beautiful sword as well as Rex's ring. Bubblegum's hair dress also became a cute scepter. While Akame's hairpin became a katanana. Some others turned into fans, mallets, staffs, daggers, lances, bows, spears, guns, wands, scythe, crystal balls, axes, and even shuriken and other different stuff. Each one matches their wielder and are based on their primordial elements. Like Miha's fan that can create a whirlwind in just one wave. Some are instruments like Mythica's because her elements are cloud that controls the weather and sound.
None of them understood what's going on. Noting that these items are magical, Zakia opened hers, that is a book and looked for answers, half expecting it to work.
After seeing the words appear, she read it out loud so that everyone could hear.
"These items are magical weapons, forge to enhance and maximize their wielder's ability. These are called divine weapons. They are also spirits, that took the form of weapons."
Still confused, she looked at everybody and spoke sheepishly "I guess their magical weapons meant for us"
"Yeah we get that" said Asa
"Oh, okay, well I don't get it" said Rex "But I suppose weapons are weapons"
Feeling disgruntled, Airi complained, "If these were designed perfectly for us, I don't like mine. I not good with swords, whoa!" The form of his weapon changed yet again into shuriken which surprised him
"That explains the spirit stuff" said Kishi
Airi turned to him, glared "What?" Kishi asked
"Where's yours?"
"I didn't touch any unlike the rest of you" He explained
Airi looked at Kira who did the same. She didn't bother touch any of the other items and was contented by just looking. She looked wary of them.
"Why didn't you?" Confused, he asked
"Can't you feel it? These stuffs are emitting incredible magic. And Sychi strictly told us not to touch these kinds of items without her or any other adult's permission, they might be dangerous"
"And you believe her? I feel no dangerous aura coming from any of these" Airi said, waving the shuriken around carelessly
"Oh yeah? Throw it, if you dare" Kishi dared him with a smirk
Airi sneered back and throwed his shuriken across the room. It flew in incredible speed, and the magic surrounding it getting stronger and became visible in their naked eyes. Once it hit the wall, and a big explosion occurred, shocking them all before turning into Airi, who looked as horrified as the rest are.
He quickly turned to Kishi with a bewildered look. The latter just smile sinisterly at him as he stood up.
"didn't you hear what Zakia said? She said enhancing and maximizing. Good thing you didn't use to much force, or this whole place will be eradicated."
"Then why did you tell me to throw it?! Are you out of your mind?!"
"It's because you won't listen to me anyway, so it's just better if I show you Idiot!" Kishi shot back at him. "You mastered casting spells but you never mastered full control of your magic. And wielding divine weapons needs full control, or you'll just blow things up! And were not the only ones who thinks that way"
Kishi gestured towards some others who also didn't lay their hands on anything, like Ara, Lux, Lune, Aspen, Aqua, and Coral, who are also wary enough to do so.
Airi and the others wanted to fight back, but words won't escape their mouths. Kishi was right, they are not competent enough to hold magical weapons. Not yet. That is also the reason why they won't be learning about it till they were second years. They were only aloud to learn how to use weapons but only normal ones. Though they admit they were wrong, there's no way to turn back to the past and alter what happened.
Airi sighed. He picked up the shuriken and imagined it being back as a pendant. Just as he expected it to, it worked. He wore it around his neck, and looked at it.
The others did the same as he did, turning back theirs to jewelries and wearing them. They plan to hide it when they got home to prevent any more accidents from happening.
Truthfully, they wanted to return it, but since the spirits or whatever already chose them, and even took form of whatever they want.
After, they left the chamber, through the tunnel, and out of the underground place. Just as what Glaciel told them, the dragon was obediently waiting for them outside the wreaked monument.
Tired of all that happened, they asked Glaciel the way to return back to the empire. He nodded and offered to give them a ride on his back. Most of them carefully climbed the gigantic dragon, while some others choose to fly on their own.
Dashing through the wind, Kira fell asleep, leaning on her dear brother. The others enjoyed the scenery of watching the land as they quickly passed through mountains and valleys of the north. The others who had some energy to spare are racing against each other.
Glaciel was astonished. Despite his great speed, the children are able to keep up with no problem. He wondered why they looked so hopeless when he tried to kill them. He desired to know more about this group, and what precious secrets they are hiding. Yet he also felt anxious about them. Unlike dragons, humans are fragile creatures. They easily break, and worst, self-destruct. If they posses this much power at such young age, he worries about their frail bodies as their own magic tears them apart. After all, it's been written in history that young mages who posses great powers usually meet their demise also at their young age. None of them have any futures. That's how cruel their lives are.
"Is there a particular reason why there are no more adventures o treasure hunters scouting the area. I mean, the ones we fought in the ravine are too few to be all of them. Were flying at the northern mountains, right?" Airi asked, peering down at the ground
*I forgot to inform thou, the quest had already met its end quite some time ago*
"Wait, what!?"
"It already ended@!? Since when?! How?!"
*Yesterday afternoon. The scouts are the only ones roaming around to look for remaining survivors and corpses, and possibly, thou. As of how, the reason is simply because the gate that thou passed through alters time. Thou reached this faithful subject's village, four days ahead of time*
