Chereads / Immortal Duan Cai / Chapter 31 - Chapter 30

Chapter 31 - Chapter 30

Felix was calmly standing behind his bar counter serving customers as they came up to him. Naturally the women would usually wind up blushing as they attempted to flirt his way. It was a normal situation for him that he had long grown accustomed to since his childhood and caused him to build a high tolerance towards them all. As his beautiful soft pink colored eyes swept across his Sunny Wolf bar to grasp the situations within his sight he was able to easily and quickly catch even the slightest hint of something that might go down if something was to arise. His senses were high standard as his cultivation level was already at Master rank; a rare thing among cultivators as the rank was not easily gained. It was not the highest to gain over years of hard work but was still hard for mortals. It was a level that most cultivators would give up working under others normally, however Felix loved his job and respected Duan Cai so he had nothing to personally complain about.

There were a few known Master ranks that would come to The Sunny Wolf and ask him from time to time why he still tends to a bar that knew him for years and he would end up lightly changing the subject. With his shoulder length hair naturally covering the right side of his face it was often hard for others to catch glimpses of the look in Felix's eyes when he spoke so it was easy for him to dodge topics when they could not judge his expression. His hair was a chrome tone of violet that made his eyes stand out all the more when they were able to be seen.

The clothes that Felix wore during work were a natural bartender's outfit, however aside from being covered in black clothes the vest part to his bartender's outfit was dark purple. He enjoyed wearing things that he felt would naturally suit him in coloration regardless of the opinion of others. Even as he heard the door to his bar open he'd remain relaxed and calm in demeanor as he slowly turned his eyes to look in the direction to be sure of who had just passed through the door to enter. If it was a regular he would naturally have an easy time recalling who they were and what their usual order was and if it was someone new he'd do his best to ensure they felt welcome as long as it wasn't someone he felt could bring trouble to his territory, The Sunny Wolf.

As Felix watched the two men enter The Sunny Wolf bar he remained calm and quiet. At a single glance he recognized them right away. The identity of his boss, Duan Cai and the right hand man Leon was not someone he could easily forget. With a spark in his eye he cleared his throat and watched as the two of them moved across the bar and found a seat at a table quietly. As he slowly put his things down he could hear others in the bar whispering to each other as they tried to guess who Duan Cai was and why he was in the bar. Many of the whispers wondered if he was even high enough in status to be there and their remarks annoyed Felix; he fought to remain calm under the noise.

"My lord, how may I help you today?" Felix asked as he slowly and slightly bowed to Duan Cai in respect.

"You know what I want so why ask?" Duan Cai smiled as he knew that Felix was putting on a show just to shut up the others in the bar who had no idea who he was. Felix was that sort of person. If others wanted to talk big he was the type who would easily do something to shut them up or deliberately try to piss them off even more so that he could find a reason to remove them from his presence. The whole thing amused Duan Cai and was one thing he enjoyed about Felix. It was like the man had dual personalities at time cause he could easily watch the man look sweet as candy just to turn into a vicious cobra if his switch was flipped.

"Of course, my lord." Felix turned to walk away while ignoring Leon with a friendly smile that could easily be read as 'oh your here?' while Leon tried to get his attention to ask for a drink as well. The two of them had never gotten along that well, but they both were loyal to Duan Cai so they tried to keep a respectable distance unless they had to interact.

"As friendly as ever.." Leon scoffed and rubbed his forehead.

"Of course he is." Duan Cai responded as if what Leon had said was a question just to be sarcastic.

"That's not what I meant.." Leon's brow twitched.

"It never is." Duan Cai responded sarcastically again as he smiled at the glass that Felix was placing down in front of him. It was a simple cold and mint flavored drink that Duan Cai had enjoyed many times before when he had come here; a simple refreshing grasshopper. Just as Duan Cai hated things like Coffee and preferred tea when it came to drinks he enjoyed the drinks to be soft, sweet, fruity, a bit along the fancy line. He could not tolerate heavier things like whisky, beer, or anything along those lines. It was not that his tolerance was low because his endurance and tolerance to things was extremely high due to him being a deity; he just had his own taste that could leave mortals wondering when it came to watching him.

Felix did not completely leave Leon without a drink as well, but the drink that he placed in front of Leon was a rare eight teen year single malt scotch whisky that was light to the taste. It was one of the finer drinks that Felix personally would recommend to those who had a more refined taste and had the money to afford it. The two in front of him of course were not going to pay for the drinks as the entire placed personally belonged to Duan Cai so he naturally owned it all to begin with so Felix would only serve what he knew the two of them would enjoy regardless of expenses in the matter.

Bowing slightly once again Felix turned to return to his post at the bar. Everyone in the bar was in a silent stir as they had never seen Felix leave his bar before to personally bring a drink to someone unless it was someone of high standing that had a personal issue he had to deal with. It had them all wondering who exactly Duan Cai was that gained such respect from the idol of The Sunny Wolf. If he was able to gain that much respect by simply sitting down in a seat it had them all in fear of what to say out loud on the situation as they did not want to shake up things when it came to Felix.
