"I understand that you dislike me very well, but I take it that there is more to why you called out to me or else I'd take it you would have just ignored my presence all together." Duan Cai started talking first to try and get the conversation going between them.
"Of course, why else would I call out to such a shameless-" Loris cleared his throat as he caught himself starting to insult Duan Cai again and knew it would not end well if he continued. "I mean I just had some other things come up and I wanted to know if you've seen my brother. Even if you joke and say he was sent home this morning the idiot never showed."
"Is this a problem?" Duan Cai asked as though he had no care at all towards the issue of Lester missing. He knew that he often did things involving the underworld so he presumed there were times that he probably vanished for days at a time if things were serious enough.
"Shameless.. Of course it's a problem. As much as I hate to admit it he's the heir to the sect and the elders are starting to get fed up with him playing around with the underworld for you. If he continues the smallest thing that could happen is he might be removed as the heir, but the biggest deal is that he could be removed from our sect all together." Loris started going on a rant about his brother in front of Duan Cai and Leon. As much as he wanted to remove his brother from being the heir to becoming the next patriarch he did not wish to see his brother completely removed from the Yang Sect all together. They were a sect that cultivated the use of light capabilities and thought very highly of that fact causing them to look down upon such actions as associating with the underworld of society. He felt it was only a matter of time before the sect would completely toss his brother out and it could lead to a backfire on himself that could cause himself to suffer as well.
Duan Cai could hear Leon scoffing under his breath at what Loris was saying to them. It was obvious that he could not believe what the man was saying to them in the slightest. He rather agreed with Leon in that matter as well instead of falling for what Loris was attempting to plead. If Loris wanted his brother removed from his involvement he felt it was surely for Loris's own sake and fear and not because he felt a care towards his own brother in the slightest. The man was too cunning in his own actions that Duan Cai felt he could easily be seen as a fox among men.
"Where does your Sect stand with me, Loris?" Duan Cai asked while taking a sip of his drink. His eyes not even looking at him in the slightest while he spoke. The mere sight of the man was enough to make him feel annoyed, but out of respect for Lester he did not want to do anything rash towards his brother.
"I don't get what you-" Loris was cut off.
"Your sect clearly knows where most of mine originated, correct?" Duan Cai slowly glanced over in his direction as if he was testing his reaction.
"Of course.." Loris felt himself slowly wanting to slide away from Duan Cai on instinct.
"Your brother clearly understand and respects us, but I know that could not possibly hold for an entire sect.. so where does your Sect stand exactly? If they were to act against your brother... would that not make it look like they are planning to-" This time Duan Cai found himself cut off by a panicked Loris.
"No! Of course they wouldn't get such an idea! This is just solely a personal matter against my brother!" Loris found himself shouting without meaning to causing the entire bar to look over in their direction again. He knew how dangerous Duan Cai could be when angered and could feel himself shaking. His nerves were on edge at the thought that he might think Loris was acting against him.
"I should hope so.. I may hold respect for him, but if something was to happen to your brother.. What would that mean for the rest of you? You come to me making these threats towards him but simply put they are actually towards me.. are they not?"
Duan Cai's cold gaze was enough to make Loris start to sweat. His entire body froze in place as he tried to quickly find the words to respond back, but Duan Cai was no longer listening to him. Duan Cai and Leon were already standing up to leave the bar while he was still frozen in place. It was true that he wanted to use his brother to his own advantage as he could, but at the same time he felt fear towards doing anything that might cause Duan Cai to look at him more than necessary because it was like spitting at a grim reaper.
"Oh, one more thing-" Duan Cai paused for a moment while walking. His head slightly tilting back to glance at Loris from the corner of his eye to be sure he was listening to him. "If anything happens to your brother I'll be sure to personally visit your sect.. I'd heed that warning if I were you because I wont offer it again."
As he saw their figures leave the bar he exhaled heavily. His entire body collapsing to the floor as he felt a wave of exhaustion take him over. There were many people looking at him curiously without a clue as to what was going on, but he had no care towards their opinions at the moment. Over behind the bar counter he could even see a kindly smiling Felix who was looking in his direction. The smile may have been kind to others, however in the eyes of Loris he could clearly see that Felix was giving him a smile that felt more like he was laughing at him internally for attempting to use Duan Cai to get what he wanted. Since Felix was a subordinate of Duan Cai he clearly knew ahead of time that the moment the boss had been approached it was not bound to go Loris's way and he had finally understood why the man had not spoken a word towards him personally from the very beginning.
