Chapter 34 - Portion 3: The Scouting

Lyana Debaux's POV

I was looking at the plan of the museum of Le Louvre. I don't know why I was doing this once again. I guess I have to blame my kleptomaniac in me that I wanted to feel the rush of my heist running through my vein. I sighed.

I went to the fridge as I got some beers as I will be up all night to figure out what will I found about the museum. I need to make something out of this or at least some of it. I was staring at the people that will be there tonight. I smirked as I know some of them and there was an addition from the Interpol. They think one of their agents can stop me.

I have news for you and one agent can never stop me.

I was sipping on the coffee right now as the virus that I was sending to the server of the Le Louvre was reading the information that I needed for tonight scouting. I need to make sure that I will not miss anything at all.

"Hmm, someone knows how to counter attack my virus. Interesting," I said as I was reading the information before the connection was lost. I tsked before I was crossing my hands across my chest as I was looking at the blueprint.

"Then I guess I have to use the old trick," I said as I was looking at my blue fedora and coat. I guess La Femme Bleu will not making at entrance after all. I went to sit down in front of the computer as I was putting on my name for the invitation for the gala tonight. The ceremony that we will be witnessing some African government to put their precious Tanzanite in the museum, the rightful place.

Rightful place, my ass.

I have been getting some information that the government got it through the blood of Africans that working for the diamond companies with underpaid job. I gritted my teeth as I can see the way of how younger children to do this job.

"Damn them," I said before I stopped my typing on the computer and rubbing my face with my hands. I sighed.

No, you cannot succumb. You need to be strong for them, even though mingling with them tonight.

I took a deep breath before I was staring at the computer screen. I was halfway done with the list before I was putting my name on the invitation.

Lyana Debaux, my real name.

Geez, I don't know why I was putting my name but I think this will not drew much attention to me since Debaux was one of the oldest French surname that I ever known. I might get special treatment.

Since you asked why it was special, my family served the Napoleon in his regime before we went into hiding. And after the Viva La Résistance, we were one of the old family that helped to establish Robespierre into power.

We always worked behind the scene.

I was sighing as I finished the invitation and right now, it was printing the right paper and size so that no one can know any better. I smiled to myself as I was looking at my family photo. There I was, with my father and mother before everything changes.

No, don't think, don't feel. You don't need to remind yourself.

I sighed before I was looking at the time. It was 5 PM right now. I think I have to pick out my outfit for the night and maybe did something to my blonde hair. Should I colour it? Or just let it be? Black it is, I shrugged as I went to take out my supplies for my self dyeing and right now, I don't have time to dwell on it.

While I was waiting for the dye to settle in before I was choosing a timeless black short dress that I will pair with a turquoise coat. It was a chic but formal enough. And tonight was for me to get inside without leaving a trace of La Femme Bleu. Maybe I can leave a clue here and there.

Or not.

I went into the shower after my time was up. It only took 30 minutes for the die and 15 minutes to rinse it. I have shaved my legs and arms and every where that was necessary to allow me wear the dress without shame. I was contented.

Then I put my hair into a simple French twist with a sapphire hair holder that will let my hair to stay in place. I was happy before I went to put on simple make up with a bright red lipstick. I need to look sultry but also, I have to look professional. Since I was an archeologist, I dare say that I was an expert to say an antique and a fake.

Pfft, like I have any qualification for that.

Well, maybe I was. I was an Art History major from Lyon University, France. I was a proud art curator but my kleptomaniac was getting the best of me.

While i was a curator by day, I was a thief by night. And I cannot be more contented then that. I was happy with the way it was.

Until I met him.

Edmond Lattone's POV

I was going to be late. But I did the best thing that I can do. I had a quick shower and I was putting on the best suit that I have, which was an understatement but right now I only have one in my possession.

Since I let my old life behind.

I was fixing my look and my hair as I was standing in front of the Louvre when people were checking in to get inside the exhibition. It was nice and all and I think I might need to have some fresh air after this.

"Looking to make an escape, Mr. Lattone?" Pierre asked me as I was rubbing my hands against my pants. It was stuffy and I think I might need to drink to let loose.

"Why don't you enjoy the exhibition. I'm sure we can handle this," Pierre said as I looked at him, arching my eyebrow. The museum director was smirking at me before he went to greet someone that was getting inside the museum. His face lit.

Maybe it was the patron of the museum.

I shook my head before I was considering his suggestion. I looked around and there was nothing out of ordinary. I wanted to make sure that everything will be okay. And it seems it was.

For now. I have to be on alert.

I sighed before I slipped inside the museum where the Frenchs were enjoying themselves. I was being left out as I was getting the champagne from the passing server as I was sipping on the champagne. I was not looking at anything in particular until I saw her coming inside the room.

That shapely legs.

Smooth, pale skin.

Hair as midnight.

But the most distinguishing feature of them all, it was her eyes. It was blue as the sky in a clear day. I was stunned as I stopped midway when i was sipping on the champagne. I was blinking a few times before I was standing there and just watched that woman coming toward me before she took a champagne from the passing server.

But I know it was too good to be true when she went past me and I was blinking again. Her faint jasmine smell was nice and I think I could get drunk on this,

What the hell?

I turned to follow her as she was sashaying throughout the room, trying to look at the exhibition without any interest in mind. Maybe I can distract her at least. So, I drank my champagne and I went toward the mysterious beauty who had captured my attention.

"Alone?" I asked her in French as she turned to look at me. I hid my badge as I don't want her to know if I was here to be on guard for La Femme Bleu.

"Maybe, but why you wanted to know?" She asked as she was arching her eyebrow at me. I smiled as she was playing hard to get. I smiled as I was looking at her. At least I won't be bored to night.

I liked a little challenge.
