Chapter 37 - Portion 6: The Garden

Edmond Lattone's POV

I was looking around before I saw that Lyana was getting out of the ballroom. I was following her after I helped Pierre put the gem away. Okay, maybe it was more like me doing the heavy work for Pierre.

I don't think I should be doing it but I did.

I was looking at the midnight hair before she was getting out through the French door and I was following her pursuit. I was smiling when I was thinking about the alone time that we might get to learn about each other.

I hoped Lyana would not mind about it.

I was about to go to the garden before I was being stopped by someone. I turned to look at who was it and I was surprised to see that it was a woman.

"Excuse me, monsieur. But do you know someone that was named Pierre Vouivre?" She asked as I was looking at the blonde woman in front of me right now. Her eyes were blue and she was heavily pregnant right now.

"Um,"

"Sasha! What are you doing here?" Pierre came out of nowhere before I was turning to look at Pierre that was furious right now.

"Honey, I was about—"

"I told you, you cannot come here. It will be unpleasant for you and the baby," Pierre said as he was being disturbed by this blondie. I chuckled before I was looking at the interaction between them.

"But I want to see the exhibition. It has been a while since you let me out of the house. I have to see this new position that you earned and I am happy for you, honey," Sasha said before Pierre sighed.

"Fine, but you have to stick to my side. I don't want you to be huffing and out of breath when I was not around," Pierre said before he was escorting to the blondie out of the way. I was shaking my head before I went out of the ballroom and I was making my way to the garden.

I was searching for the midnight black hair before I was looking at the same woman but she was talking with someone.

Someone that was not me.

I felt something was cracked inside me before I was taking a deep breath and I was walking toward them. I can hear that Lyana was laughing before I was clearing my throat as they turned to look at me.

"Am I interrupting something?" I asked them before Lyana was putting her hand on the guy that she was walking about. I cannot think of the hand that Lyana was putting her hand on the arm of the guy. I smiled forcefully before I was retreating then.

"I guess I have to go now," I said before I turned and Lyana was pulling at my wrist. I turned to see that she was smiling at me before she was introducing that guy.

"Please, you are not. I just want you to meet my friend, Louis Devereux. We're have known since forever. Our families are close," Lyana said as I was looking at the guy that she introduced me to.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Edmond," I said as I was shaking his hand. He nodded at me.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, but I believe I have to go now. There was so much stuff that I have to do," Louis said before I was smiling at him.

"Well, don't let us keep you then,"

"I see you around then, Ana," Louis said as he was kissing Lyana's cheeks. She smiled before I was smiling at them. Louis left the garden and it was for the two of us now. The silence was killing me.

"So, it seems that you are taken then. I was hoping that my luck would be lucky tonight with one woman," I said as I was smiling weakly at the ground. I don't think I can face Lyana after this. I know where I stood in her life.

"Oh, you're mistaken. Louis was not my boyfriend. He's more of a family. We're childhood friends," Lyana explained to me. I shook my head.

"I always know that childhood friend would end up together, so—"

"Who, me, and Louis? No, it's not like that but I have a hunch that stated he has someone else in his heart," Lyana said as she was smirking at Louis who was entering the ballroom again. I was smiling before I was looking at Lyana. She was checking me out.

"So, what do you think about your heart then? Do I have a chance to win it?" I asked boldly before I was looking at her blue eyes. She smiled seductively before she was standing in front of me as she was playing with my chest before she was circling me.

"I thought it was pretty obvious, Mr. Lattone," she whispered into my ears before I turned to look at her. She was smiling seductively before I was pulling Lyana closer to me by the waist.

"So, is it okay for me to kiss you then?"

"Why don't you try and we'll see?" She said huskily before she was snaking her hands to my neck and pulled me closer. I can smell her jasmine scent before I was kissing her shoulder.

"Should we be in the open then?"

"Let's go somewhere private," Lyana said before she pulled me and she was guiding me to be deeper in the garden. I was giddy to know that Lyana was having this rendezvous with me right now.

"Oh, and one more thing that you need to know about me, Edmond," she said before she was pushing me to the vine-covered walls before she was putting her hands on either side of my face.

"I usually take control of this situation," Lyana said before she leaned closer and she was kissing me. I was taken back before I was gripping her waist and I was pulling her closer.

I could not get enough and I was gripping her face with my hands as I was angling my face to deepen the kiss.

Lyana moaned.

"Oh God! You're amazing," she said before I was pushing her to the walls and I was kissing her again. She moaned in my mouth and I took her noise before I was caressing her side and she was roaming my body.

"I want you for tonight," she said as she was looking at me before I was looking into her blue, dilated eyes. We were breathing heavily. I was smiling as I was caressing her cheeks.

"That would be my—" I did not finish my sentence when something was exploding inside the museum. I turned to look that there was a fire that was coming out of the building and everyone was screaming.

"Shit," I cursed under my breath before Lyana was caressing my chest.

"What's wrong?" She asked before I clenched my jaws.

"Everything," I said before I was pulling her to the side and we were running together with the crowd to the safety assemble place.

Lyana Debaux's POV

If I was reading the situation correctly, I can get two things at one time. One: I can get a hot-blooded male for my dry spell. It has been years since I was interested in anyone and I don't think it would be this stranger.

The last time I was with someone, he left me stranded.

Two: I know that my plan to make me an alibi was working. The time bomb that I planted was making it easier for me to slip later on. But right now, I have to go with Edmond as he might think that I was surprised by the bombing.

Only if it was not planted by me.

I was holding tight to him but I was breathing hard from the kiss that we shared. I was looking at his jaws clenching and I was not the only one that saw it.

"Lattone! WHAT THE HELL! I cannot think that it was not planted by La Femme Bleu! You said that she will not be showing until later," Pierre said as I was looking at Edmond. He was brooding.

"And it was. I think she planted to make a diversion. She must be inside now," Edmond said before I was smirking inwardly.

How wrong you are!

"Okay, you go check and I will be taking my wife out of this mess right now," Pierre said before Sasha was in the view and I have to get away ASAP.

Not good and I was not fast enough.

"Lyana, you're here?" Sasha asked me before I was smiling at her.

"Hey, if it was not my best friend," I said before I was hugging her, and Sasha was smiling at me.

"We can't stay, honey. You will have to catch up later," Pierre said and I was relieved to hear it.

"Okay, call me," Sasha said before she was out of sight with her husband and I was left alone when Edmond was making his way into the museum.

Now, let's get my freak on.
