Chapter 39 - Portion 8: The Date

Edmond Lattone's POV

I was exhausted when I have arrived at the apartment. Since I just got into the apartment today, I don't have any time to do some grocery shopping as I was flopping on the sofa before I was sighing.

What a day.

I was rubbing my neck as I was closing my eyes before something was coming into my mind.

Her sweet laughter.

Her midnight hair.

Her blue eyes.

It was too much for me but it made me smile immediately. Then, I felt the heaviness of her business card before I was looking at the number. I sighed before I was pulling the phone out of my pocket and I was typing the number in.

I was hesitated at first before I was dialing the number and I was waiting for Lyana to answer. My heart was beating fast and I was biting my lower lips.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed—" I hung up as I was dialing it again. And waited. And the same lady was answering me to the voicemail. I sighed before I was typing a text that sounded like this:

Hey, it's me, Edmond. I tried to call you 2 times and it was like 4 AM, so I thought it was not a good idea for me to do this. But I was wondering if you would like to go out tomorrow?

It was nothing really but I was wondering if you could show me hotspots in Paris that I can get my essentials for my apartment. I did not have the time to go grocery shopping today so I thought maybe…

You know what, I think I would just go by myself. Sorry to bother you.

I typed as I was looking at it. I was shaking my head before I was rubbing my face. I was being an idiot right now. How come I invited Lyana to a grocery shopping date? No one ever did that!

Ever!!!

I sighed before my phone was beeping again as a message got through and when I looked at it it was a reply from Lyana Debaux. And I was breathing heavily when she replied:

Sure, no problem. I can show you around ;-)

I was jumping up and down on the floor as I was looking at my phone again. I cannot believe that Lyana was telling me that she wanted to go out with me, grocery shopping, or not.

"I think I might be lucky after all," I mumbled before I was gripping the phone and I was smiling like an idiot I was. I was breathing hard before I exhaled.

It was the best feeling ever.

But that would be for tomorrow. Tonight, I have to get some sleep and perhaps the mishap that has been happening in the museum will be leading us somewhere.

Somewhere close to La Femme Bleu.

I sighed before I was getting up from the sofa and I was putting my phone on the coffee table as I was making my way to the bathroom. I stripped off my suit before I was jumping under the shower and washed. I was smiling again and again as I was wrapping the towel when I finished before I was standing in front of the sink and brushed my teeth.

I was flossing and shaved before I was smiling and winking at myself. What is wrong with me?!

I sighed before I was stripping out of my towel and went under the cover. Call me gross for sleeping naked but it was the best feeling ever.

My head hit the pillow and instantly, I was off to my dream world.

Lyana Debaux's POV

I was smiling as I was reading the text that I received from Edmond. It was long but he was babbling like he would talk to me face to face. Oh yeah, I never had anyone like him before.

He was charming and confident but at the same time, he was trying to keep it cool when I know that he was nervous when he was around me.

I was looking outside the window of my house as the lights on Eiffel Tower were shining but the smoke that was near the Louvre was still there. I smiled before I was scratching my cat's ear.

"Can you see what was going on here, Smokey? This is the taste of a game that I would enjoy for the rest of my life right now," I said as I was looking at my cat.

"And I was happy to say that I have found someone that might be interesting to be playing around with after all," I said as I was looking at the pictures that I have gathered from the party. I did not expect that someone was far more interesting than I could get under my fingertips but I guess it was pretty obvious.

"Edmond Lattone, Detective from Interpol. My, you are a charming one," I said as I was touching his face on the paper that I was looking at my board plan for my next strike.

"I guess you never see me coming then, Detective," I said before I chuckled and I was walking out of the living room to get ready for my 'date' tomorrow.

Edmond Lattone's POV

I was sighing as I was looking at my face right now. I did not get enough sleep since I went to the museum at 8 AM. I still yawned when I got out of the car and I was looking at Pierre. He looked distressed.

"What happened to you?" I asked him before he was glaring at me. I held my hands up in surrender before I was looking at the crime scene.

"So, any clues?"

"Nothing but we did get the wiring was connected to a wireless router that has been there for how long, we don't know. We don't even bother to check it," Pierre said before I was taking my gloves and put it on. I went inside the storage before I was looking around.

There was nothing out of the ordinary before I heard someone was calling after the name that has been the star of my dream last night.

"Ms. Debaux, if you please. You cannot come here and demand that you speak with someone that was being in charge of the case right now," Pierre said as I was looking outside the storage room before I was crossing the yellow tape and I was looking at both of them.

"What are you talking about? Of course, I come here was to speak with Edmond, but it was not about the case, mind you. It's more of a…personal matter. Edmond, will you please explain to Pierre that I have a date with you?" She said that made my eyes widened before some of the guards and police were snickering behind me.

Way to go to tell the world about our date, Lyana.

I cleared my throat before. I was looking at the museum director before Lyana was crossing her hands in front of her chest. I was sighing before I was telling others to continue my work while I settled this.

"Pierre, it was not like what you think," I said before he rolled his eyes at me.

"Oh, I think I know EXACTLY what happened but of course I will be smart not to get involved. So good day and you guys go back to work," he said before I turned to look that the guards and the police were eavesdropping on us. I sighed before I was rubbing my neck.

"Sorry if I was making a scene. But they would not let me in and I have to see you," Lyana said as she was holding my wrist as I was still wearing the gloves. I smiled at her before I was pulling the gloves off and we were out of there.

"No, I should have told you the time. I thought that maybe after my investigation, I will call you and—"

"But luckily you did not. So, I can see you earlier than you plan. How long does the investigation take anyway?" Lyana asked me as I was silent to her question.

"Forever. So I must say that Fate must want us to be together today,'' Lyana said as she was looking at me with her big, blue eyes. I smiled before I was ushering her to my car.

"So, will you be my tour guide today?" I asked before she smirked and her mouth was next to my left ear.

"I am and it would be so much more if we could hang out until tonight," she said before she slid inside the car as I was opening the door for her. She smirked before I was clearing my throat and I was closing the door.

I went to my side before I slid inside and started the ignition. I turned to look at Lyana who was sitting seductively next to me with her legs crossed. I gulped at the sight as she was wearing a red mini dress and she was smiling at me.

"First stop: Westfield Forum des Halles. All you need in one place," Lyana said as I shifted the gear into D and we were out of the Louvre.
